So would you rather have Group 1: DJ Moore Robbie Anderson Laviska Shenault TMJ Shi Smith Ian Thomas CMC Baker/Sam/PJ throwing to them Or Group 2 Thielen Chark TMJ Shenault Shi Smith Hayden Hurst Miles Sanders Young/Stroud throwing to them I take group two. We have gotten better by getting rid of DJ Moore and CMC in the past few months.

Panthers re-sign Eddy Pineiro, cut Zane Gonzalez
Ricky Spanish replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
He was a younger and cheaper option after a year or two of bad/injured Gano. Also didn't seem like Rivera trusted him to try longer FGs (until the giants game) even though Gano has a cannon leg. Financially it seemed to make more sense to keep Butker and that Gano was on the downswing. Then we eventually cut Gano and ate money and had Joey Slye, a downgrade from both, While Butker has gone on to be an above average Kicker with ice in his veins and Gano had a career resurgence in NY. It was just bad moves across the board. Vintage Hurney really. Also, Butker was injured last year so his numbers were down, expect a bounce back year. -
Young doesn't play RG3's game. RG3 was a runner who didn't protect himself and could really only make one read at a time. Young is a QB first but can scramble to extend plays, he doesn't actively look to run, think more Russell Wilson. Young however might explode in the pocket if Myles Garret hits him because he is a skinny boy.

Panthers to Send 11 Representatives to Ohio St Pro Day

It's the 40 yard dash dude. He's a pocket passing QB. It doesn't matter. -

I've seen people say he's probably roughly as fast as Mahomes. Which is described as "Fast Enough". -

If we could get Hopkins for a 4th or 5th...

I'll say this: I was on the CJ Train before we traded up to 1 because I figured Young would be gone and we'd get a shot at CJ. Then we traded up so I've been looking at both prospects intently. From a pure QB standpoint, I like Bryce Young better. He is ahead of CJ in terms of reading defenses, directing his offense, and handling pressure. He also seems to process what's in front of him quicker than Stroud. The more tape I see, the less I care how small he is. Dude just knows how to play QB, and he's better at it right now than anyone else in the class. RIGHT NOW. Not in the future, but as things currently stand. Saying all that, I'm good with either Young or Stroud because I think Stroud has the ability to become a good NFL QB as well. But as things currently stand my rankings are: 1a - Young 1b - Stroud

Seeing a lot of back and forth and some bickering about who is better and who we should draft all over the place, mainly between Stroud and Young. Wanted to get a poll up about a month before the draft and before the pro days so we can gauge where the fanbase stands in terms of which QB they like best, and which one they want to draft. Might do a part two right before the draft to see if things have changed (A lot can change in a month). If you have strong convictions one way or the other, please provide supporting arguments.

Also OBJ's "Mistake" was a deliberate attempt to injure our player by spearing him in the head with the crown of his helmet. That's not a mistake. That was

Adam Thielen interview with Pat MaCafee...
Ricky Spanish replied to Ivan The Awesome's topic in Carolina Panthers
Thielen just said the main reason he even considered us was because of Reich. Amazing the affect a competent coaching staff has on things.- 38 replies

I agree on paying donte but disagree about TE. A rookie TE in the second round is not likely to contribute much at all. TE is hard as hell to play and rookie TEs barely ever do anything in year 1. The best rookie TE season ever was from Mike Ditka in the 60s on a shorter schedule. With the way the league is pass happy these days, you'd think some rookie TE would come in and blow it all up but that hasn't happened.
