  1. It's also why the teams with good OLs tend to be among the better teams in the league. It's a bigger edge to have a good OL than it's ever been.
  2. The fights don't bother me. We need some of that. The complaining... well, at least he'll be in sync with the fan base
  3. He's good against the run, but so-so as a pass rusher IIRC. It depends on the money for me.
  4. One of the most overrated Panthers ever.
  5. He's an upgrade over Luvu; better in coverage and younger.
  6. Wonder if we're looking into bringing back Hassan Reddick? I know the Eagles are looking to trade him.
  7. Did we learn nothing from the Miles Sanders signing?
  8. This makes sense, actually. If we are interested (you have to assume we probably are) then why not wait until next offseason when he's on the market? Cincy won't re-sign him; they're looking to make a SB run this year and hoping to get one last year from him. Unless he outright refuses to play for them and forces a trade I don't think they'll trade him, but they're not looking to keep him long-term either. So he'll very likely be available next year in free agency, at which point we'll have plenty of cap space and hopefully something resembling an actual functional NFL offense to put him in.
  9. You're not wrong, but the end result was still 2 wins. The strategy seems to be to sacrifice some of our defensive strength in order to build the offense up around Bryce - or for whoever we draft in '25 if Bryce doesn't take a big step forward this year. And honestly, it's about all we can do right now. We're dead in the water until we get QB figured out so why bother trying to field a top-10 defense if the end result is still going to be 2 wins? Remember the infamous Tepper interview after the draft last year where he talked about not having to spend a bunch on receivers because Bryce is a point guard and can move the ball "with routes" so we could spend more on defense? As dumb as Tepper sounded saying that it's clear that was a strategy that he was sold on by someone - probably Scott Fitterer - and it was a flawed plan to begin with. This seems like the opposite; get your offense right and find a good DC who can get more out of less. It's the approach most good teams are using these days. We'll see if it works here.
  10. This. But, to be fair, the draft this year looks like it fits our needs pretty well so we should be able to go BPA at a position of need without reaching.
  11. I would not be surprised if they do take Jackson Powers-Johnson at #33 if he's there or Sedrick Van Pran in the 3rd.
  12. I don't like this as much as the Hunt signing because Lewis isn't as good, but he's a hell of a sight better than anyone we put at guard last year, especially if Corbett is now moving to center. I love the focus on the OL. This is how you re-build an offense.
  13. Interesting. He does have experience there.
  14. Way too early to know what the QB class will look like, but if nothing else Shedeur Sanders should be an option. Or hopefully Bryce shows some life and we can use that pick on a pass rusher or WR.
  15. Honestly... and this will be unpopular around here, I know... but fug the defense right now. We all know we're not winning this year. Build the best OL and WR corp possible and Bryce either sinks or swims in year 2 under Dave Canales. If he sinks, we'll probably be picking top-3 and at least we'll have a good OL and some weapons for the QB we draft to replace him. If he swims, we go into 2025 with some cap space and draft picks we can use to re-build the defense knowing we've got the pieces on offense.
  16. Yeah... I'm not losing sleep over this one. He finally showed some promise last year but that's too much for the definition of a JAG.
  17. They're tearing down the defense to rebuild the offense. Makes sense if we don't expect to win this year.
  18. Ooof. Thank God we weren't in on that one.
  19. This isn't on Dan Morgan. Scott Fitterer botched this whole situation. Morgan did about as well as could have been expected considering we had ZERO leverage in either trade OR contract negotiations.
  20. Hopefully it means BC is now a backup. He'd be a hugely useful depth piece to have considering he can play either tackle or guard spot. Having a quality backup swing OL like that can make a huge difference over the course of a season.
