  1. I have a bad feeling we're going to end up with a class that looks something like this...
  2. Jalon Walker. I'd go Mike Green if not for the off-field issues.
  3. Can you imagine if he had signed off on that deal? As bad a shape as we've been in the last few years imagine having no 1st round picks the last 3 years AND having no cap space to sign any free agents because of that contract. Somehow the Browns have managed to be better than us over that span (I don't think Kevin Stefanski gets the credit he deserves for that); the difference is I think we're about ready to come out of our mess and they're just starting to fully fall into theirs.
  4. But not the dumbest, somehow. The Browns actually gave Deshaun Watson a fully guaranteed contract; something even Tepper's desperate-for-a-QB ass wouldn't do.
  5. We probably stay put. I just don't see many teams itching to trade up in this draft. Maybe if Will Campbell or Armand Membou fall to #8 a team like the Bears, 49ers or Dolphins could look to move up, but even that seems doubtful, IMO.
  6. Eagles trade #32 and a 2027 conditional 6th rounder to Panthers for #8. I have a bad feeling about this draft.
  7. I actually think last year's class has more potential than our last several. Granted, that factors in Jalen Coker who was a UDFA, but still. If XL can stop trying to catch rodents long enough to learn how to catch footballs there is potential in last year's class. I think Sanders will be a solid TE and Wallace has flashed at ILB. Smith-Wade has potential as well. I just don't like what I'm hearing about the players we seem to be enamored with relative to where we would be picking them. Donovan Ezeiruaku is a player I like, but not in the top-10 or even top half of the 1st round. That's the kind of player you take after trading down into the 20s. Water Nolen is a great player, but has significant character red flags. Mykel Williams is the definition of traits over performance. I fear we're about to make a big mistake in the 1st round tomorrow night.
  8. I feel like this front office has lost it's fuging mind.
  9. I agree; Walker isn't nearly as good a prospect as Luke was. Mykel won't be a complete bust, IMO, but I agree with your take that I'm not sure he'll ever be a true impact player either. Honestly, the only defensive player outside of Carter and Hunter that I feel is a safe projection is Mason Graham. I just feel like if we're going to be taking a risk on an EDGE in the top-10 we should go with the guy with the higher ceiling in Walker.
  10. This reminds me of 2012 when we apparently had Quinton Coples rated neck-and-neck with Luke Kuechly. Imagine if we had gone that route then. Taking Mykel Williams might not be that bad of a decision as I do think he'll be a decent player (whereas Coples was a flat-out bust) and Jalon Walker isn't quite a Kuechly-level player, but I can't help but to feel like we're flirting with making that kind of a mistake here.
  11. I hope to hell Mason Graham falls to us because if we get a top-10 pick only to come away with Mykel Williams it's going to be a huge swing and miss.
  12. Warren is a better prospect than Olsen, IMO. Not saying he'll be as good a player, but purely as a prospect I'd rank him higher than Olsen.
  13. Went trade-down crazy here. Traded down with Houston for a bunch of picks and again a few other times. Ended up with an insane haul; 13 players + an extra 3rd and two extra 2nds next year.
  14. Don't over-complicate it. Unless we get a good trade down offer, take the BPA on defense.
  15. Oh, I agree. This is exactly what the 5th year option is for. Let him play out this season and figure it out then. I expect him to make a pretty big jump this year.
  16. Traded down twice; once with the 49ers in the 1st and again with the Bengals in the 2nd.
  17. Yes, but he's also only 24 years old after 3 full seasons in the NFL and isn't finished developing. If it makes sense I'd be all for moving him to RT if/when Moton is no longer here, but only if we have a sure-fire better option at LT.
  18. He's not that far off from being a top-10 LT, though. Everyone assumes the league is flush with good LTs, but that really isn't the case. Even an average LT can be hard to find these days. Ickey may not be top-10, but he's probably top-15. And he's still young with room to get better. It's not that outrageous to think he could be a top-5 LT over the next 3-5 years.
  19. I mean, it's an easy call. He's a former top-6 pick who has played well overall and is still improving. Would you prefer an all-pro for the 6th overall pick? Of course. But he's far from a bust and people tend to forget how raw he was coming out of college as well. He actually played better, earlier than I expected he would.
  20. Yes, but they weren't playing EDGE. If we draft Walker, it shouldn't be to play off-ball; he needs to be rushing the QB. I'm not sure I see him being a full time DE in a 4-3.
