2022 as in the year his book was published? What did he do in 2022 that is so conflicting?

Rather have Sutton
-
Agreed. The hope is that Young can become a Burrow-Lite with the right cast around him. Burrow started off with Higgins, Boyd, and Mixon. Of course Chase made him next level.
-
I mean throwing with AR, Levis, and Stroud would make most QBs look bad. I don’t blame him. Probably the same reason Burrow didn’t want to throw with Herbert.
-
Yeah I have no idea if he will work out or not, but if I were him I’d be all in on Burrow’s film and offseason regime. Their playing style is similar and neither have a cannon. Burrow is making it work, granted he has some great weapons. Also guess who didn’t throw at his combine?? https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/around-the-afc-north-joe-burrow-won-t-throw-at-combine-but-would-play-for-bengal

That’s just a timing issue though. The ball basically travels the same with the same velocity. There are plenty of other examples that one just took 5 seconds to find and was similar with both throwing off the run and the same distance. On a side note here is what Burrow did his first offseason to get more velocity. (Take notes Bryce) https://bengalswire.usatoday.com/2021/05/31/bengals-joe-burrow-tweaked-throwing-motion-rehab/

Love Burrow and loved him as a prospect. That play kind of shows what I’m talking about though. He didn’t stay in the pocket and deliver a bullet. He scrambled around and lobbed up at 35 yard pass. The ball doesn’t look much different here than Burrow throwing off the run. Just looking at arm strength.
-
Manning himself compared him to Burrow. I was comparing his arm strength. https://sports.yahoo.com/peyton-manning-believes-bryce-young-210102148.html?src=rss

I might get some hate for this but I think he can get it to Burrow’s level. It’s nothing special but it’s good enough, especially if he can get the touch/timing down. They had similar college tape (I think Manning was the first to point this out) with obviously Burrow being a lot taller. Burrow is interesting because he invested his first offseason strengthening his hips to get more “zip” on his passes which he was able to do. https://theanalyst.com/na/2022/02/the-rise-of-cincinnati-bengals-joe-burrow-super-bowl-lvi/#:~:text=While Burrow does not have,of a pocket around him. Here is a decent read on how Burrow has made it work without an elite arm.

It’s a good year to need a WR or 2.
-
I mean I’m expecting an increase from 2 wins, but yeah I want to see a team that gets better and makes games more competitive as the season progresses.
-
I’d hope we are currently at the bottom. Dead last with no first is as bad as I’ve seen a team. New GM and new HC hopefully means things will get better. How quickly they do is anyone’s guess.

Should have just told him to change his avatar? The OkBoomer thing is a generation thing as much as it’s political. Was his agenda trying to defend the QB for the Panthers on a Panthers Forum??
-
Looks like we get to keep Ejiro Evero!

They will just blame Fitt and move on. Waiting another year IF Bryce is the reason they struggle seems pointless. Just digs them in a deeper hole.
-
If he leads up to a top 3 pick with poor performance he will be replaced. They will let the new HC get “his guy.”

Nah plenty of people in the sports professional world still believe in Young. Fans like to overreact and can’t separate the player from the situation. I like to hang out in the “wait and see” area. If fans want to be optimistic who cares? Pessimistic? Sure go for it? If you are finding yourself in a constant state of pessimism especially to the point where others optimism is actually bothering you it might be time to check out some other hobbies until things get turned around in Carolina. People shouldn’t spend their free time around something that makes them miserable. Life is too short. If Young is as bad as people on here think then he will deliver us another chance at a top QB in 2025. If he turns it around then we can use our assets to keep building around him. I’m just going to wait and see while enjoying the show.

Those 6 year seniors always worry me, especially after Pickett. I mean they are 23-24 playing against 18-20 year old players. Both also struggled earlier in other conferences. Penix’s injury history behind our OL is just a terrible idea as well.

DJax has the dawg personality just not quite the skill to back it up.
-
None yet. Worst case is they tag him IMO.

I’d be surprised if the Colts let their new QB’s young top weapon hit FA, but they are the Colts so who knows?
-
If Canales gets us from 2 to 6 wins in one year that would be a very good sign. That means year 2 should expect around a 500 season with a possible playoff push. This roster has a lot of holes still.

As a FA sure, but we can’t afford to give up anymore valuable picks for players. It would probably cost a future 1st to get him. Losing the top pick in this draft is bad enough, doing it again would be insanity.
