I have zero doubt Fitt wanted Young. His press conference speeches all hinted towards it plus the whole Russ Wilson in Seattle thing. I think Frank liked most of the top 3 and Young advertised as the most "pro ready" probably made it easy for him to go with Young. I don't believe Frank is good at developing QBs as he never really has. This is probably why he wanted Carr originally.

I've seen good throws in the earlier games. Regardless as Olsen said I can't evaluate poo in this offense. Especially not a rookie QB.

I’m not ready to say his physical limitations will prevent him from being great. However I certainly don’t fault anyone who does. I’m with Olsen on how it’s impossible to properly evaluate him in this offense. I’ve seen some plays where he zips it, but others where is kind of lofts it. I don’t know if it’s a confidence thing or rushing his fundamentals but something is definitely off more so in these past couple games.

Yeah I’m not talking about people on here. A majority of us wanted Stroud. I’m talking about all these analysts/former GMs/former players/draft boards. People are acting like Tepper found a random QB and no one on this staff wanted him. I don’t think that was the case. Everything Fitt has said sounded like Young was his guy and Reich and his crew were easily convinced if nothing else.

Stroud would look better here and was the better prospect, but who knows exactly how good he would look. Fitt has this roster stripped down on offense and Reich has them playing away from any strengths they have. I don’t know how well Aaron Rodgers would look in this offense. Fitt and Reich both have to go before they can do any further damage. My only point was no one batted an eye at the selection of Young. He was picked around were most projected but the team we’ve built for him and the scheme Reich is forcing this offense to run is inexcusable.

It’s definitely strange. I’ve gotten kind of use to it, but yeah it’s strange…

Sometimes it’s just easier to say the player you liked played bad and the whole offense looked like poop. Trying to defend something indefensible at this point will make people sound crazy.

We need a center and BC healthy ASAP. To me Bozeman is the biggest issue aside from the constant change of shitty players at LG. We have to get some playmakers though. We have no outside WR right now. Mingo is better suited in the slot or perhaps for a Debo Samuel type role until AT is done. Hollywood Brown would be a nice FA signing and a player like Tez in the draft would help.

Then they are idiots for over embellishing the whole thing. Talking about how he was the reason they made the trade, it was always him and popping out these long stories about how they had conviction with their pick. When Ryans was asked a similar question. He just stated he had Young and Stroud as 1A and 1B. We were comfortable with either at 2.

Yep let Morgan be interim until we can find a good GM this offseason. Most importantly Tepper needs to let this new GM do his job with minimal interruptions/ suggestions. Hire the right person and trust them. Reich needs to go because his whole offense has aged out of the new NFL. Let Staley be HC for the next couple years. New GM can pick his guy in 25 if things aren’t better.

This is what I’ve noticed. He is starting to stare down his first reads and not going through progressions like he was earlier. It’s regression…

No you were spot on. I think your strategy still applies. Get some talent on offense and if Young still struggles our new HC can draft his guy and actually have something for him to work with. Throwing a QB with an injury history like Penix in this mess will land him on IR in my opinion.

That’s what confuses me. I’ve seen him throw bullets like that highlight of him sliding off that defender and throwing a dart to AT. I don’t know if he is trying to put too much touch or isn’t setting his feet, but his arm talent shouldn’t be a weakness. It was never advertised as elite, but should be capable…

Every coach would “prefer” a tall QB. Scouts were saying if Young was 6’2” he would be in Luck/Lawrence territory as a prospect. I like how Chris Simms put it. He said height is a skill. You prefer your guy to have it, but if they are better at other things it can offset it to a degree.

We need to do what you were hoping we would do last year. Add weapons and talent to this offense. Just roll with Young again in 24 and he either develops with better weapons or leaders us to Sanders/Ewers/Allar or whoever in 2025. Looks like Daniels is returning for Kansas as well.

Reich’s only QB he drafted was Sam Ehlinger at 6’1”. He inherited a bunch of good QBs that were tall but it’s not like he developed Manning, Rivers, or Ryan. He thought he could “fix” Wentz but failed. I don’t know where is QB guru label cam from.

Yeah he is no longer going through reads. Maybe it was the constant pressure, but I watched him stare down guys more this game than others. The only one he trusts is AT and that’s an issue as well.
