Do you watch CJ Stroud and wonder ‘what if’?
ForJimmy replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I see people claiming they are better than what we have (which is the worst in the league). Greatest show on Earth sounds like someone trying over exaggerate a point being made to dismiss it. We have the worst weapons in the league and our OL is in a scheme that’s ruining it. Anyone with eyes can see this. Regardless Stroud should have been the top pick and he is absolutely crushing it in Houston. Both things can be true. -

I was surprised to hear we were inquiring about Young, Sweat, Higgins, and Adams before the trade deadline. I thought Fitt would be cut off by now. -

Yeah with Lovie Smith they struggled. They clearly have some talent and Ryans is looking to be a legit HC which several people on here saw coming just not this quickly. -

There is some middle ground here. The Houston offense in functioning way better than ours. They have speed at WR a solid TE and an OL that is blocking better that ours. Watching Houston’s offense vs ours is a huge difference. Their OC is doing a great job and Stroud is taking them to the next level. Both things can be true. Stroud is elevating them and they are a much more competent unit than ours. We are trying to force our power running OL into a dancing bears, finesse zone blocking unit, playing a rookie WR who is probably a slot at this level on the outside because our only decent player on offense is a 32 year old WR who had to move to slot because he lost a step. Seriously who on our offense would you absolutely want to retain for our future? -

We can admit we missed on Stroud but still be open minded about Young. Stroud is taking the league by storm and we are a complete mess. Hopefully we can get a competent offense going so we can give Young a fair chance before moving on from him. We are officially at the bottom now with the Cards winning so no where to go but up… Well after the Cowboys game which could be very ugly. -

Stroud is better than any rookie QB we have seen so far to be fair. We overthought it and missed on something special. Just think our OL could be playing the same scheme in was in last year with Stroud under center as well… -

A good NFL QB. There now go check out some more clown photos. -
I have Herbert in for Tua and it’s paying off nicely.

I think it will take Reich truly stepping away from the offense and letting an OC create and run an offense centered around our players strengths. I’m not sure is Brown is that guy. He is still young but his play calling has been worse than Reich’s (and I was very high on Brown this offseason). As dumb as it sounds having O’Brien come in next year and create that Alabama offense for Young to run might be the simplest solution. We made a terrible trade and picked the wrong QB, but I’m with you in thinking Young can develop into a good QB. This offseason will be all about building an offense around him to see what he can do. -
They might be which is weird they were competitive last year?
-
Who has the Giants RB? Pollard is going to cook us plus they will have a lead just just be handing it off on cruise control.
-
Sounds familiar…
-
If his team gets to the playoffs he is tracking to be in the league MVP conversation. That’s insane for a rookie QB.
-
The guy shouldn’t have tried to return that INT. There was no time left. Just take a knee.
-
Looks like Levis had a Bryce day. Constant pressure with just over 5 yards per attempt. We have to fix this OL issue…

Yeah kind of sad. He had some arm talent but the NFL is just a different animal. -

I think Corral was having some issues. He didn’t show up for several days to NE’s camp if I remember correctly. -
In one offseason. https://www.denverpost.com/2023/11/07/shedeur-sanders-cu-buffs-2024-nfl-draft-projection/amp/ NIL plus the portal is completely changing things.

I don’t think so. They were a bottom tier team and Deon immediately made them competitive and gave them a lot of confidence. I hear waaay more people talking about Colorado that I have in a long time. I think they are bringing in Warren Sapp as an assistant which will help with recruiting. Their roster is just incomplete at the moment. They are definitely on the rise. Bring back your star QB and what college player isn’t going to want to play there?
-
He doesn’t want to go in a draft with Maye and Williams. 2025 can be all about Sanders plus he will be playing on a much better roster. Honestly having him at QB will attract a lot of transfer portal players.
-
Yeah his OL is built like most TEs. They are bad yet he still is keeping them in games. Next year they will have more NIL money for better players. That’s one of the main reasons he is returning.
-
He could be the top pick in the 25 draft. What’s not to like about his game?
-
We have to build some sort of offense for any QB. Might as well get some weapons/protection and give Young next year. If he struggles again he will land us Sanders in 2025 and we should have something for him to work with.
