  1. Yep it allows smaller franchises like ours to be competitive. Burrow (aside from this year) really helped a struggling small franchise. Not to mention there are only so many big markets available. Go ahead and mark Miami and San Fran off that list because they don't need him so basically he is an unproven player that will only play for 3 teams. What happens when 2nd round and later round picks start doing this too? It's also going to be extra embarrassing when a player does this and struggles.
  2. The Caleb thing doesn’t really bother me. We were there and passed on Stroud could be what hurts the most. If Stroud turns out to be the next guy that hurts way more than missing on the Caleb sweepstakes because who knows what our record would be if we waited one more year for a QB. Too many variables to say we would be picking 1 and miss Caleb. We might have missed on a great one with the pick in our hands. Time will tell.
  3. Some great points in this thread. Young didn’t see an open WR and he isn’t as good as Mahomes after 3 games. Good informative info. Let me take a while to digest all of this…
  4. They have a good offense and Cousins is in his last year. It’s definitely the smallest market but he probably wants to throw go JJ and Addison. He could look good fast with those weapons kind of like Burrow and the Bengals.
  5. I saw one of the teams was rumored to be the Niners??? Really? Purdy hasn’t lost a game yet and Caleb is going to go in there and take his job as a rookie?
  6. You know there is a middle. I wanted Stroud, like Stroud, think he will be great and he is clearly showing he can read defenses just fine. I also can see it’s hard to get a good read on Young in this lack of running game, constant pressured OL, stagnant offense we have him in. He has a lot to prove no doubt. However Reich and his dream team weren’t nearly as prepared for a rookie QB as Fitt made it out to be.
  7. Lol ok yeah you really caught him with his foot in his mouth. Damn I’m sure he is real embarrassed…
  8. https://www.panthers.com/news/notebook-bryce-young-is-running-my-own-race You can like and cheer for both players. Hell they are friends and cheer for each other.
  9. That’s what he is saying. The Texans OC is legit. Ours isn’t allowed to call plays.
  10. How is this a foot in mouth? Basically said IF the test reflects QB play this year then the S2 would become a major draft component. It didn’t so it won’t.
  11. Agreed. More importantly @TheSpecialJuan is back!!
  12. I agree the offense needs to push the ball downfield more but a lot of that is play calling as well. What kind of physical tools are you wanting to see? I mean he isn’t going throw a rocket like AR, but keeping plays alive and making the right reads are going to be where he needs to shine and has shown he can do it a couple plays. We just need more consistency in Young, our running game, our OL, hell pretty much our entire offense.
  13. I’m all for the wait and see approach. The positioning any analyst that doesn’t agree with a certain viewpoint in a negative light seems just lazy IMO.
  14. https://atozsports.com/.amp/carolina/cam-newton-sets-the-record-straight-regarding-bryce-youngs-lack-of-success-carolina-panthers-nfl-podcasts/ Cam Newton also a Tepper PR guy?
  15. Hey @TheSpecialJuan is back!! Tell everyone! Spread the news!
  16. That happens all the time. Nepotism is alive and well throughout the NFL and America in general. As much as I want to complain about it, I would probably be looking out for my family as well if I owner a billion dollar company.
  17. True story, we have 0 wins since Juan was banned. Just something to think about...
  18. That was Matt Rhule's wife I believe. She watching him play in college and wanted us to draft him.
  19. No one is arguing any of that. She is direct family to the sole owner to the Panthers. She holds a high position in the Tepper Sports and Entertainment Group as well. This is not uncommon except it is usually father/son which no one seems to have a problem with.
