Sanders is a strong personality to be a backup. I think that is why he dropped in the draft as well. You draft Sanders with the gameplan of him eventually becoming the starter. I don’t think we are there yet with Bryce. I wouldn’t have been against Ewers later in the draft though. Could be a decent backup with a bit of a ceiling.

I was looking at Mills and Slovis too. It was short lived after he threw a pick Back to being Plummer…

Darnold was more than JJ. It was O’Connell’s scheme with a solid OL and having possibly the best WR to pair with Addison was just bonus. If you are expecting JJ with every top 10 WR prepare for some disappointment. We need some franchise players to build around right now. Pittman would probably be our best WR since Smith? I mean Moose broke 1000 yards 3 out of his 14 years and he is considered our 2nd best WR. I know offenses are more pass happy now but just giving some perspective. I’ll take a young 1000 yard WR and try to put him in a consistent offense with good QB play and he should have some great production.

I still want a vet safety and ILB once teams start making their cuts. I’d feel a good bit better about the roster. Scott starting is kind of scary…

Yeah we are on the same page. I'd rather keep Horn for the potential, but Moore knows the system and is another vet who is decent at special teams as well. I'd prefer Horn and just stashing Moore on PS until someone gets hurt.

I think Renfrow is a lock with Horn and Moore fighting for the last spot and Moore probably has the edge.

His good performances do get overblown by fans. I’d credit that to our pure desperation of anything from the QB position. When he plays well some will continue to overhype while others will continue to discredit it. I feel like that’s always going to happen in sports. Especially in relation to the QB position.

TDs are TDs they count for the same amount of points however you get them. If it’s open you run it in. Again this whole debate is ranking single game performances by Panthers QBs. Rambling on about all his other shortcomings isn’t relevant unless it just makes you feel better.

He said one of the greatest and it was record breaking so an argument can be made for it. That’s all I’m saying. Do I personally think it was top 5? Nah. Top 10? Maybe. If you score 5 TDs and have lower yards you simply ran out of real estate. I don’t see that as a negative. He can’t create more yardage after he scores. it’s also not that massive of a statement. Our top 10 is basically all Cam with a couple Jake sprinkled in there.

I agree that quality of the opponent hurts this game a good bit. I think some fans also go overexcited to see something from the QB position. My opinion is it was the best QB performance by a Panther since Prime Cam and it’s not particularly close. The bar has been pretty low.

Lol you are just taking away TDs to try to make a point about a game performance. This doesn’t sound like reality to me. We are looking at a game where he scored 5 total TDs which tied a record thus some could consider it ONE OF the best offensive performances by a Panther’s qb (it was the best we’ve seen since Prime Cam no doubt). Taking away his rushing TDs because that’s not the norm is completely ludicrous in this debate. Yeah if you nerf down his stats they weren’t record breaking. Look I can call him out when he plays bad, see first two weeks and that Cowboys game keeps getting looked over. He also played very well against Atlanta. You have to let go of this pre draft opinion or wanting him to fail because some Bryce Stans ruffle your feathers. Rambling about PJ Walker and trying to remove TDs in an argument about single game performances is a bad look.

If you are zeroing in on yards because every other stat was great you might have an agenda. If you are ignoring 5 TDs and zero turnovers you might have an agenda. I’m not a die hard Bryce fan, but some of the size bros make it difficult to not defend him with some of these takes… We get it, you didn’t want Bryce in the draft. I preferred Stroud but at some point you have to get over it.

Yes postseason wins will always carry more weight. I’m saying when a fan says a record breaking day is ONE OF the best passing performances by a Panthers QB, it’s not some crazy comment. It was literally record breaking and record tying for scores with zero turnovers. Three out of 4 passes are going to be complete. 13% of the time the ball was in his hands a TD was going to be scored on a day he scored as many as any other Panther in history. We can keep debating it, which just proves the point it’s debatable.

Ok so we have PJ Walker against ATL 19/36 for 317 yards 1 TD 1 INT and 1 carry for 20 yards Bryce Young against ATL 25/34 251 yards 3 TDs 0 INTs and 5 carries for 24 yards and 2 TDs One has a rating of 80 and a QBR of 32 The other has a rating of 123 and a QBR of 94 Also one actually won his game. The lesser can be one of the best QB performances of the decade and the other can’t be over 30 years? PJ also had a 100 plus yard rushing performance from Foreman with 3 TDs btw. You could argue Foreman was more crucial to the offense than game honestly.
