Tank season back on: #2 Pick in the draft currently
ForJimmy replied to Varking's topic in Carolina Panthers
He is growing on me. I want to see his true measurements at the combine. -
I could see him playing the Thomas Davis OLB role if he can put on some weight without losing speed. He is a tough talented player.
-
Agree 100%. I makes me wonder what we have in Tremble and other players we have labeled as "busts." I bet/hope Wilks starts using Chinn correctly.
-
Yeah and it's not like our offense and running backs have been struggling without him.
-
Maybe we could have been better. Or maybe PJ would be focused on CMC and running the offense through him instead of distributing it to other players. I don't know if it was Rhule or not but we had a boring offense that was focused on getting CMC his touches. The offense is clicking because it is more balanced (and of course our OL is dominating).
-
That’s my point. It’s a different system with a different team. There is no way to tell how it would have worked over here. He gave discovered Foreman is a solid replacement and our offense seems to be playing better.
-
Lol every team shut down our offense while Rhule and CMC were here. We couldn’t get a freaking offensive TD.
-
as of right now do you want wilks as the HC next year
ForJimmy replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah I’d prefer one that can work with our rookie QB and develop him. Wilks is a good leader, but I don’t think he can develop a young QB properly. He will more than likely want to ramp up our defense. -
If we are comparing CMC with a different staff, let’s do Carolina’s PPG on offense this year before the trade and after.
-
Yeah Kittle really struggled throughout his career before CMC got there....
-
-
If was a good trade for a RB. Our staff couldn't get that production from him and our cheap vet RB just had over 100 yards and several TDs. We put up 34 points on offense.
-
I'm curious to see if he will make it all season healthy being used like that as well. The man definitely has some mileage on him....
-
Yeah I don't know if he is the best to learn fundamentals from either.

It was in OT on the 15 yard line and they had already had their possession. There is an insanely high percent chance that a NFL kicker makes that kick. It's the right call and it would have ended the game. We just fell short against the odds. I've seen PLENTY of great QBs in that same situation where they are setting up the FG (Burrow comes to mind this year). I get being upset we loss but setting up the OT game winning FG on the 15 yard line is NOT a bad strategy. https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/4034949/eddy-pineiro He is a 88% FG kicker. That is actually the first FG he missed from that range in his career.
-
That's kind of how I feel. He is a wildcard IMO
-
PJ, Corral, and rookie? We definitely need a vet QB to help with our rookie. Can PJ be that guy?

Foreman is a Piece we Need to Hold Onto
ForJimmy replied to Carolina Cajun's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah just draft rookie and sign cheap vets (which is what Foreman was). Remember Hubbard looked good behind this OL also. We need to extend Bozeman before anything else. -
Yeah and the Bengals kicker was terrible against the Steelers. It happens sometimes. He had missed ONE 48 yard extra point at the time we were playing for the FG on the 15 yard line. I'm sorry but it's the right call. If PJ threw a pick you would be crying we didn't run it with Foreman because he was playing great all game.

Not to mention he CONSTANTLY missed DJ who was wide open most of the game. The Falcons had a banged up secondary and it showed. -
-
You are missing the point. My point is just because a kicker was signed during the season doesn't mean he will be terrible which was YOUR logic. "No other teams wanted him because he sucks." Gonzalez was my proof that isn't always the case.
-
I'm not defending the kicker. I am defending the coaching strategy and playing it safe for the FG in OT on the 15 yard line with his 4th string QB starting. People are pissed at that strategy. He was making 48 yard FGs in our Saints win without issues and has been fine all year kicking. I get his missed 2 total, but that PAT was a long kick.
-
I watched the Bengals kicker missed extra points and OT FGs against the Steelers earlier this year and he is legit. Sometimes it’s just shitty luck.
