I would almost always draft a big OL in the later rounds, maybe even 2.

Pass rushers are a premium position. The number one pick is either a QB (most common), pass rushers (2nd most common), or LT. These are the top 3 premium positions and if we have a top young player at one of these positions, we better get one hell of a return if we trade him.

Tanking in the NFL is just selling off your vet players and acquiring draft picks. You are focused on your future not the present. If players have mild injuries you sit them and don’t risk them trying to play through it. Keep them healthier for the future. No one is expecting the players or staff to literally not try to win. We are just no longer in win now mode.

Akers would cost money toward the cap. Our RBs looked great, so I’ll take the picks all day long
-
Would Wilks be cool with it? He may feel he deserves to be HC. Plus he is part of that law suit.

If teams want to focus on the future, they trade away high salary veteran pieces for drafts picks like we are doing. If our young core can play their asses off and secure a few wins then that's great. If we strip our team down of it's vets and are still competitive than a middle first round QB will fit in nicely. I'm trying to figure out what we are doing at HC. Tepper wants a young offensive minded HC, but if Wilks keeps us competitive do you not give him a shot? It's still early and a lot of football left to be played.

Welp.. Levis, Hooker or McKee come on down.

Especially if Richardson declares (I’m not so sure he will though). -
That looked worse than any other rookie in preseason…

Don’t overlook Penix Jr if we win several more. He is putting on a show in Washington this year. -
You talking about the one we drafted in the sane round we took Grier several seasons ago? You want to ignore a first round QB and bank on that? Sounds a little risky to me…

You have to draft the right QB and develop him in a system that highlights his strengths. Then build a solid roster around him with a good HC. The good news is I think we have a nice foundation for a young QB. We have a solid young OL, established WR in Moore, young weapons with potential in Shi, TMJ, and Tremble plus a decent defense with a young solid core in Horn, Chinn, Burns, and Brown.

Flying under the radar right now IMO.

Michael Penix Jr is having himself a year. If he declares he might be a guy to look at as well.

I notice they didn’t mention not trading Shaq…
-
Oh lol fair enough then…
-
He looks terrible. I was thinking he could dink and dunk and maybe be a Teddy Bridgewater type, but he has been a TO machine….

Are you not a Panthers fan yourself?
-
But Ole Miss is playing better without him?

Trevor Lawrence proves going #1 doesn't mean much

Right? He looks the part to me. Just need the team to fully settle into the new coach’s offense and get him some weapons. -
Having a HC like Reid helps too.

LAC has Sean Peyton written all over it. He said landing a gig with a franchise QB in place is a unicorn. LAC was the first place I thought of. Herbert, Ekler, Allen, Williams, Slater on offense with Bosa, James, JC Jackson, and Mack on defense. Sean Peyton would take that gig in a heartbeat.

and their 1st (which is what we were asking for) would be a 2nd. A LB/C/RB in the 3rd can absolutely be a starter. Any position drafted in the 2nd can also. Then you have depth which is something we need. We can also use the picks to trade up if needed.

Pretty sure he has been playing injured since like week 2. I'm not sure how bad the injury was. It was rib/abdomen area I think...
