  1. This seems like the most accurate statement. All we learned is our 4th string doesn’t look as good as NE’s 2nd.
  2. The Seahawks committed five offensive penalties in the first half. Cross had four of them with three false starts, and one holding penalty. He drew his fifth penalty -- another false start -- in the third quarter. Playing left tackle -- especially as a rookie -- is tough. Cross has all of the intangibles to be a franchise left tackle, but he won't do that if he's going to be drawing yellow Neal has lost several one-on-ones against Ximines, who is struggling to make a roster spot. That is not encouraging, but it is also not the end of the world. The speed of the NFL is an adjustment for even top recruits out of IMG Academy. All 3 of the top LTs are struggling early. It’s almost like it’s a position that takes time to adjust from college to the NFL. Everyone screamed for a LT so which one should we have drafted? Penning allowed 3 sacks in his first preseason game also…

  4. Stop overreacting. Everyone knew he would need time to develop at a pass blocker but be an immediate upgrade to run blocking. His measurables, intelligence, plus athletic ability all check off that he can be a great LT. He gave a good OL coach to develop him so let’s no rush to judgement before the preseason is even over. Butler isn’t on the team. So you just leave out Peppers, Cam, Luke, CMC, and other first round picks we nailed? S
  5. If don’t have much depth and our 3rd/4th team were playing against their 1st/2nd, what were people expecting? It looked to me like our bench held their own for a while TBO.
  6. I’ve watched Mahomes and Cam try to get rid of balls on sacks that result in fumbles. I guess they aren’t/weren’t NFL QBs. A rookie with no reps, no time, and no weapons that create separation was confused and frantic? No way.
  7. Yep. Sewell looked shaky his first action. He came along quite well last year.
  8. What makes you think he doesn’t have it? A preseason game against one of the best coaches where his starters went against our 3rd stringers?
  9. Yeah and look what happen to PJ when he went in with the 4s. It was even worse… One could argue he is already better than PJ (which isn’t saying much).
  10. To be a good QB you need time to go throw progressions and weapons that can create separation. Corral had neither of those that last quarter.
  11. No one would look good behind our 4th string OL is my point. Howell would be running frantically like he was at UNC last year. In Corral’s first or second series (can’t remember) he threw some darts, had PI called, and missed on a deep pass where it should have been PI. He looked decent with our 3rd string OL (which is still bad). He looked bad with our 4th string OL who shouldn’t make an XFL roster. Both of which going against 1st/2nd string Pats players. I like Howell and think he has a shot to be the guy in Washington. If we drafted him and still acquired Baker, he would be in the same boat as Corral. Rhule is on the hot seat and developing Corral isn’t a priority at this moment. That doesn’t mean Corral is going to be a worse QB. He is just in a totally different situation than the others.
  12. We could have a nice young core in Icky, BC, and Mays.
  13. Most other rookies are 2nd stringers on their team and playing with better talent/having better reps. Baker is our guy this year. Corral has a big learning curve from the Ole Miss RPO to an actual NFL offense. -Pickett is competing for the starting job -Titans typically carry 2 QBs and want Willis as their 2 -Ridder is competing for the starting job -Howell is the number 2 and has a shot to take Wentz’s job Look no further than how PJ looked in quarter 1 vs 3 to see what kind of talent Corral is working with.
  14. It’s not like there is any rush for him to start. Give him past preseason week 2 of his “redshirt” season before we write him off.
  15. Yeah our OL depth should just be other teams’ upcoming cuts.
  16. A good summary of what we should have gotten out of this particular preseason game.
  17. Lol yep. I got a laugh out of seeing Daley late in the game with our 4th stringers. Hopefully he will be cut soon.
  18. His foot is what he kept injuring in college. Unfortunately it’s easy to aggravate/injure again.
  19. I’m pretty excited about Barno. He looked good against their 1s!
  20. We were not playing to win this game. We trotted out our 3rd/4th stringers to go against their 1s. People need to relax. Does Corral need work? Probably, but playing behind a 4th string group of OL for a team with little OL depth to begin with isn’t a real assessment.
  21. So in a game where we rolled out our 3rd/4th stringers and they started with their 1s people are complaining we looked bad??? This should have been a blowout for the Pats. Corral looks bad with a shitty 4th string OL in front of him and we are surprised???
  22. Yeah the “homers” dictated who we drafted. Icky will be fine. This is why preseason exists. To develop and scout players in actual games.
  23. Time for Corral to come in and win the game again.
  24. Arm strength was his main negative in his scouting report.
