  1. It’s all about the price. Cheap deal no problem. Average starter money too high IMO.
  2. Last year we were idiots and though Sam was our guy. (I was begging for us to draft Fields). He is not. Last years QBs were not that impressive year 1. Hopefully they will be better year 2, but that class may be overrated.
  3. We don’t have a QB and our staff is in a must win year. Drafting a OT at 6 and ignoring the most important position in sports will almost certainly result in a losing season and their jobs. I get that it makes sense for the long term, but coaches have short windows now. Plus we could end up like the Colts wasting away a talented team never being bad enough to draft a QB.
  4. And we have a good secondary coach in Wilks! There is a lot of potential there.
  5. Oh yeah I get the red flags. Hand size, average arm strength, older, one year wonder, I just saying that last year his strength was going to progressions. The one read, half field myth falls more into Willis/Howell this past year and that’s mainly because they didn’t have much of an OL to stand behind and make reads.
  6. I live in Knoxville and watched the UT game live. Pickett was frustrating the UT fans because he navigated the pocket so well and seemed to make the right call when needed. They put up 42 points on the road at UT (yeah they aren’t elite, but it was a SEC defense vs ACC offense). If it was 3rd down everyone knew Pickett was going to make the play. He had over 300 total yards, 3 TDs and 0 INTs. If he did this reading half of the field, then UT was stupid and allowed it. You take what the defense gives you.
  7. Yeah he isn’t my top choice either, but processing speed is seen as a strength for him…
  8. They are both statistically sound QBs that don’t have elite arm strength. Both excelled in reading defenses and carving up the middle of the field. They both are the calm, confident leaders that tend to have support if their locker room. Pickett is more athletic, faster while Jones tends to do better navigating the pocket, Pickett rolls out to buy time.
  9. Last years were a let down their rookie years. Hopefully they step him for their sophomore years.
  10. If Tepper and Rhule like him it sounds like he is the guy…
  11. Love has talent, but Green Bay preferred to pay a 36/37 year old QB a ton of money vs letting their first round pick have his shot. I know Rodgers is special, but so was Favre and they let him go for their younger Rodgers back in the day. If GB doesn’t think he is the guy and is trading him for nickels on the dollar that’s a red flag. Similar to what the Jets did with Darnold, except Sam had a larger sample size to see how bad he was/is.
  12. I think he was saying top 3 (in the draft). Many are seeing a big 3 in this draft Neal, Icky, and Cross. They seem like pretty safe prospects that should be solid NFL LTs (not necessarily too 3 in the league). Drafting one is the safest plan for the long term, but the people making the decisions aren’t concerned about long term as much as they are saving their jobs next year.
  13. He honestly wasn’t too terrible at Tennessee. Didn’t play to where he was drafted and couldn’t stay healthy. Backing up Carr a few years and getting healthy may have done him good. I wouldn’t be against it. Cross at 6 would give him a nice OL and we have some weapons for him in CMC, Moore, Anderson etc…
  14. Russ got traded because we wanted to, Watson got paid and traded because he wanted to, Rodgers got paid and chose to stay. How are you feeling over there?
  15. If we trade down that’s who I want. If we stay at 6, I’d prefer Willis.
  16. Did Armstead get released? I think he is a FA and probably too expensive for NO to resign.
  17. There is no way Rhule makes it past this year unless the team dramatically improves. Tepper is done playing around after Stafford, Russ, and Watson didn’t want to play here.
  18. I bet not having a 2nd and 3rd lowers the amount we need for our rookies.
  19. I think Tepper/Fitt realized we have to make this roster more attractive to QBs if we ever want to land a solid one in a trade or develop one we draft.
  20. I didn’t like Herbert, Allen, or Mac. I’ve learned I don’t know poo about QBs.
  21. I like it! I just want a young talented QB in case Sam shits the bed again.
  22. He really won’t be as bad as people are saying. The man knows how to read a defense and carves up the middle of the field. He also has some legs on him. I’d prefer Willis or Howell for upside, but I’ll be ok with Pickett.
