  1. LT- Icky, RG-Corbett, and RT-Moton are pretty much the givens. Bozeman is going to either play LG or C which leaves one open position. I could see us starting with LT-Icky, LG- Bozeman, C-Elf, RG- Corbett, and RT-Moton to have 4 capable vets to help develop Icky. If Icky develops fast then Bozeman can slide to C and one of the younger guys in Brown, Mays, or BC might get their shot at LG. Love the Icky pick, but he will have some issues pass blocking early on this season. He has all the tools to be great physically and mentally. He should be a stud at run blocking pretty quickly.
  2. I get being skeptical. Campen wasn't there to sign off on last year's OL (who weren't in the same level as Bozeman or Corbett). He also is going to be the one developing them with McAdoo running the offense. MUCH different than Brady and whoever our OL coach was last year. The QB issue is different because we constantly struck out on our top choices like Stafford, Russ, Watson etc... Rhule tried to get fancy and sign OL that can play multiple positions (just none that well). They tried a much more proven tactic this year in signing proven starters for FA OL. If there were serious about getting a QB the proper way we would have drafted Mac or Fields to compete with Darnold, but instead we thought we were smarter than everyone else and could develop him Darnold into something he isn't. Two totally different scenarios IMO if they helps you feel better about the situation. I'm not saying these OL will be the greatest, but pairing a great OL coach in Campen with proven OL talent in Bozeman, Corbett, and Moton plus a high potential pick in Icky should have a much greater chance at success than past years.
  3. Regardless of how they turn out a huge effort was made by our staff to address this weakness. Corbett and Bozeman have been solid starters plus 2 draft picks with one being in the top 10 (arguable the best OL in the draft) shows we are serious about fixing this. If they don't work out I can't be too mad at Fitt and Company for trying. Throw in our new OL coach as well. I do get what you are staying though. I'm not crowning them out best OL in history or anything, just glad a serious effort was made to address this issue.
  4. He went from the 2nd graded player on our OL to possibly our best backup/depth. It shows how much we have put into getting this OL better.
  5. Yep. Just like Teddy. Speaking of record, what is Tepper's record as an NFL Owner??
  6. Not quite. Jimmy would be the Goff in that scenario. "Replace him with a capable QB" implies he is NOT capable, but you go ahead and read it how you want....
  7. Competition is a good thing! Still don't think Sam has what it takes, but competition will make him practice harder.
  8. The Niners lose when the person that is backing up Jimmy G has to play correct. You really like these stats out of context. Who was their starting QBs in these loses? Replace him with a capable QB and you could have a Rams/Stafford moment with that team. I posted what CRA shared with us in this thread and Intended Air Yards Per Attempt. Do you care to comment on his playoff performances? Winning one or two more games so Rhule can try to keep his job isn't the best play for the Panthers. Jimmy is already on his 3rd team by age 30 and we would be number 4. I don't hate him, but let's actually learn from our mistakes and not keep repeating them with other team's castoff QBs. I don't hate Sam Darnold, but I understand he isn't the future of the Panthers and the same goes for Jimmy.
  9. Sam is already fumbling in OTAs....
  10. Lol look what happens in the playoffs. They win but he shits the bed, they needed a blocked punt for a TD to get score so they could beat GB in which Jimmy had a QBR of 11. Hell Sam could have gotten a rating of 11. His win against Dallas 0 TDs 1 INT and under 200 yards passing. He looked better against the Rams, but threw the game deciding INT to lose the game. Teddy's regular season passer rating was 94.9 last year landing him just a couple spots behind Jimmy. Jimmy dinks and dunks/checkdowns just like Teddy (I think someone posted he was 29th in yards per attempt). It gives them a good rating, but when the game is on the line they can't make the plays to win. There is a reason why he is STILL available. If he was so great we would all be wanting him and there would be a bidding war for him right now. We aren't "too good" for him. It's just a waste of resources to trade for a mediocre QB that is basically Teddy 2.0 just to get a couple more wins. We need to develop Corral or draft our next franchise QB next year.
  11. It kind of sounds like the Cards are going to pay him based on how their coach is responding. Hopefully we stay put.
  12. But Jimmy G isn't the one wanting to move on. His team wants to move on from him even if he wants to stay. As Mr Scot just shared we don't want to pay his salary which is reflective of a good QB. I wonder why that is??? In fact it doesn't look like ANY team is wanting to pay that salary for a subpar QB...
  13. Super Bowl victories are so hard to come by. That's why the NE dynasty was so impressive. I think Tomlin is the only active head coach with more than one Super Bowl victory (as head coach) outside of Bill.
  14. They need to just trrade his ass away and eat most of the salary. It's what he did with Teddy. Seattle seems like an ideal spot for him to step in a compete right away.
  15. It would take a healthy CMC, solid OL play (possible with the talent there), and the big one for me is Corral showing some promise. That plus YGM or another young defender stepping up and we could be a playoff team. I still think we are a year or two away even if Corral shows some potential. I'm just happy we finally have a potential franchise LT and some talent/competition for Darnold in the QB room.
  16. Yep. Give Corral a chance to play this season to see if there is anything there. That will let us decided if we draft one from the next draft class or not. I could give two shits about Rhule getting an extra win or two with Baker/Jimmy. I want us to get some stability at the QB position.
  17. Seriously! He always looks good in practice. He just can't read real defenses...
  18. Come running to Snyder's defense! Don't be so damn predictable...
  19. That doesn't mean moving on from Jimmy is the wrong move. Lance is an unknown in which no team knows more about him than the Niners. You have a strange notation that if a team makes one mistake they are destined to make mistakes over and over again. I mean the Patriots made a mistake in not signing Brady what he thought he was worth right? We made one in trading for Sam so I guess trading for Jimmy would be us continuing to make mistakes as well...
  20. Our OL looks SO much better than last year. I’ll give credit where credit it due. Their top goal was to address the OL and they absolutely did. That in itself should make us more competitive as they gel and develop throughout the season. I’m hoping another WR like Shi or Rambo steps up and gets some playing time as well. We seem to have a decent roster while thin at a few spots. Next year will be a big offseason. Aside from the QB situation there isn’t too many weaknesses. LB and DT could still get filled in as teams make cuts this year.
