  1. We had a thread locked down already from this. Last 9 Super Bowls Rams- loaded roster, Stafford throws 2 INTs and they still win Brady Mahomes- who is very mobile and extends plays/runs for the first when needed Brady Eagles- Nick Foles is probably available if you want him Brady Broncos- yeah Manning outplayed Cam alright... pocket passer vs runner or elite defense crush our terrible OL Brady Seahawks- Does Russ count? So 9 Super Bowls ago if you don't count Mahomes and Brady makes up for half of them in between. If you are living by the pocket passer being your best chance to win a Super Bowl let's go sign Nick Foles, because he won one recently as a pocket passer.
  2. Oh I get it and you are not alone in thinking he might be the top guy in this group. He is my favorite, but I think he needs to go somewhere like Pitt that can develop me properly. We would rush him out and probably mess up his career because Matt Rhule... I think Corral fits what we need/style of offense we are running the most this year.
  3. He took out Virginia Tech with a Liberty University team. They always leave off that one. That's a team Virginia Tech pays to play and put up 50 points on. He has also addressed why he left Auburn. He said he wasn't mature enough, wouldn't watch film and just expected the coach's to make him their guy. Gus Malzon did not (went with the legacy Bo Nix) and he transferred and has grown up a lot since then/learned from that experience. He is an intriguing prospect after actually doing some research on him. Seems very mature for his age and eager to get better at his craft. Still a bit of a question mark, but has a lot of potential.
  4. Honestly it's hard to tell. His team was usually MUCH more talented than his competitors. Fields had a nice OSU OL with OSU weapons that were usually more highly recruited that his BIG 10 competitors. He was missing a couple top weapons and struggled against Northwestern. I loved Fields and wanted us to draft him, but give him Liberty's OL and weapons even against lesser competition and you could very well see a different looking QB. I know Fields was MUCH more highly recruited out of HIgh School, but Kyle Allen was too. I would still prefer Fields over WIllis because I think he was a more developed passer, but that because he had a staff/team to help develop him in college.
  5. I'm saying their injuries aren't anything out of the ordinary for a starting QB in the NFL. I wouldn't call either of them injury prone or even red flag it at this point. People freak out when a "running" QB gets injured and relate it to them running. As someone stated Cam's injuries came from the pocket like Burrow's. Getiing a good OL (like you are wanting) should greatly reduce our next QB's injury rather they are a running QB or not IMO.
  6. Mahomes hurt his ankle the year before last. That same year Burrow tore his ACL. Winston injured his leg last year scrambling (and he isn’t known as a scrambler). Baker injured his shoulder last year as well as our own Sam Darnold. Zach Wilson also got hurt last year. Injures happen all the time, Murray’s or Lamar’s weren’t serious or career threatening.
  7. I think my rebuttal was adequate compared to your post.
  8. Willis had a 62.8 career completion percentage in college. That’s not terrible. Herbert was 64%, Cam 65.4%, Lawrence 66.6%.
  9. They may grab Hutchinson or Icky
  10. If Willis goes ahead of us it helps a lot. Icky, Willis, 2 pass rushers, Sauce or Hamilton possibly all top 5?
  11. Interesting. You think we aren’t as high on Icky? I’m unsure about Penning unless we trade down first…
  12. If he is there at 6, I’ll be happy! (Assuming we draft him) Our OL should be solid all around with a great OL coach to help them gel.
  13. 3/8s of an inch! He stretched it 1/8 extra at his Pro Day. If people are going to freak out about 1/2 inch, 1/8 is also a big deal right? Also if Neal or Icky are there, they are the pick IMO.
  14. Burrow couldn’t even start at OSU. Transferred to LSU and had an ok year projecting him mid to late draft pick. Then his final year when he was similar age to Pickett, he played amazing. Burrow’s ceiling was questioned as well as he is “limited” athletically. The difference is Burrow when undefeated in a tough SEC and won it all, however he had an absolutely loaded team with a NFL roster. There are some similarities, but Burrow just has that “it” factor where he refuses to lose. He even adjusted his throwing motion/stance to increase velocity this past offseason in the NFL. Burrow reminds me of Brady where he is going to do what it takes to get better and win every game he can. I’m not sure if Pickett is wired that way or not…
  15. Arkansas and Kentucky have 2 QBs with some potential as well.
  16. The tank talk is silly. No coach, GM, or owner is going to insist we keep a terrible QB to make Rhule suffer and guarantee us the top pick in a draft with no clear cut top guy. We signed several vets to one year contracts for what? A tank year? Why restructure any contracts or sign any vets? Just march a terrible product out there and go 0-17 to teach Rhule a lesson and draft the OSU QB who played only one year and lit up the Big 10 like all OSU QBs do. If we keep Darnold it’s because we genuinely believe he is our best option this year behind a revamped OL and some better coaches around him (OC and OL coach). If that’s how our staff feels and we get Neal/Icky at 6 then great! Hearing this talk about Tepper should punish Rhule and make him keep Darnold is garbage. If he wanted to punish Rhule he would just fire his ass.
  17. Multiple needs in a class that is deep in rounds 2-3 with no picks in rounds 2-3 and a GM who loves trading down. Yeah I think you are right my friend…. Of course that’s assuming we have anyone wanting to trade with us.
  18. I really enjoy draft time. Just wish we had our 2nd/3rd this year…
  19. If Neal is there it’s a no brainer to me. Neal or Icky and we take them unless there us some insane offer to trade, which I don’t see happening. If they are gone I have no clue what direction we will go. DJ’s “more athletic Hasselback” comparison makes me feel better if we get Pickett. Hasselback was a good QB and his limited athletic ability was his weakness. In case anyone forgot… n 2005, Hasselbeck had one of his most productive career performances, earning the highest passer rating in the NFC,[12] and leading the Seahawks to the playoffs for the third consecutive year while clinching the NFC's top seed. He led the Seahawks to Super Bowl XL, in which they lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and was the starting quarterback for the NFC in the 2006 Pro Bowl.[13]
  20. There is definitely something to be said about how outmatched Brady was at OC. If we land Icky or Neal Darnold will have no excuses this year.
  21. My favorite prospect is Willis, but I think Corral fits what we are trying to do the most so I went with him. Give Willis a great coach/OC and he could be special.
  22. That’s how it always works. The top prospects typically go to terrible teams. My point is if it’s such an incredible class, why did the previous year outperform them on rookie seasons. Because it’s a educated guess based on potential? It doesn’t matter if “every scout” is so low on this class then we won’t take one based on our scouts. So just relax…
