Would a MVP Cam win a game our new young QB lost? Maybe?

Matt Rhule just showed us his true colors.

Overreaction threads overreact… -
Now is Darnold’s chance for a game winning drive.
-
Ok Darnold shake off that INT and make some plays!
-
Reddick has your sacks right here!

Moton to start at LT, Christensen at RT

I hope they show some potential. We need it! -
If we didn’t have Darnold playing well he would be worth considering. No one will be able to play great every game until we figure out our line issues. OL will hopefully be priority one this offseason/draft.

I think they view Christensen as a G/RT. I know he played LT in college, but not sure if he can in the NFL. Plus our best lineman will be protecting Sam’s blindside. -
I’m still in New Orleans (smells of sewage and Saints’ tears), but will definitely be out eating some local food with my Panthers hat on. It’s actually a pretty cool city aside from all the ugly Saints logos everywhere but you didn’t hear it from me…

Good post. This draft was already weak at QB and the top ones haven’t had the seasons they were wanting so far…
-
Both of Tannehill’s seasons with the Titans have been good with last year being great. Tannehill’s floor wasn’t last year, his floor was with the Dolphins. However, he has proven he can play the position at a high level in the right scheme. You can’t say Darnold’s floor is Tannehill because Tannehill has two years of playing great in a good system and Darnold has zero so far. So let’s see what a player does before we estimate what his floor is (kind of takes the point out of it)? Once again Darnold has played for 3 years in this league and that was his floor (I hope). We are now bumping his floor to a player that just had a great season based on what? Yes we have to wait and see what he does this season, but that doesn’t show what his floor is? One could argue that’s his ceiling if he plays well? I could say his ceiling is Tannehill, plays bad in a bad system, but can potentially be great in the right one. His floor is the WORST case scenario which was the Jets. It just seems odd and based on nothing to say his floor is a QB capable of playing great and his ceiling is a league MVP. If our staff thought they were getting a Tannehill at worst with a potential of Rodgers they would have locked him down for the next 5 years.
-
That doesn’t change what his “floor” is. You get that right? That’s worst case scenario. We have already seen him at his worst on NYJ. That’s his floor. He is clearly better than that, but that’s still his floor aka the worst he can be. This isn’t an insult to him. We have seen his worst and he us much better with Carolina.
-
To say his FLOOR is a QB who has been very good his past several years in Tennessee would be wrong. Tannehill has proven he can play good football with the right system/players. Darnold looks like he has so far this season, but to call a proven solid NFL QB his FLOOR is a stretch. If that’s his floor, meaning the absolute worst he can be, go ahead and extend him 5 years. Any decent staff can get a player to play above his FLOOR. We have already seen Darnold’s floor. It’s the Jets Darnold and he has already shown he can be much better than that. He also doesn’t have the arm talent for Rodgers to be his ceiling. Darnold has a gear arm, but Rodgers is just on another level.
-
Yep. We’ve seen his floor. Hopefully his floor here is much higher!

Can’t remember… I know they had Ringo that Doc really wanted to kill. Were they just called “cowboys?”

Russ with Sean Payton in NO would be a nightmare. Also Dallas would be fools to trade for him when they have Dak who us elite and still getting better…
-
I feel like DJax will get one soon…
-
Nah I just ran into him. Super nice guy! He is very high on our team.
-
Fine! Chuba was an afterthought anyway. I’ll call Rhule and tell him to play CMC…
-
Well I kind of have Chuba in fantasy, so I need to know… Stop playing games CMC!
-
I think other teams were going to trade for him so we had to make a move…

Fitterer has "called around" about offensive linemen
ForJimmy replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Erving and Elf’s contract scream stop gap starters. They know they aren’t the answer, but there weren’t many other options. Slater looks like a miss, but the jury is still out on him. We obviously value CB very highly (maybe too high) and Horn’s athletic ability is off the chart. They wanted a “can’t miss” prospect at 8 and Sewell and Horn were the top options. Slater was moved around the line throughout his college career and had one really good season at LT. Hindsight is 20/20 and if we knew we could get Henderson and Gilmore for next to nothing and Slater was going to start off so well, we might have drafted Slater over Horn. Then you have to wonder if we win our first three games with DJax and no one else at CB… -

2-3 (if you count LS or not) of our 10 picks were spent on OL. None were worth the 8th pick not named Sewell and we got 1st round talent in Marshall with our 2nd pick. The next pick was Christensen and a couple later Brown, and Fletcher. We didn’t ignore it, but drafted BPA in the first 2 rounds and then worked on needs, which offensive line was clearly seen as one. Our draft was fine we got a potential shut down CB, 3rd WR than will develop into a 2 or 1, starting TE, backup RB, rotational DT in Nixon, potential slot WR in Smith, and Christensen and Brown can develop into starters. You can’t ask for a better draft IMO. We were just a team with a lot of needs that couldn’t all be addressed.
