  1. He was actually there briefly! Lol. They traded him to the Saints. Which means they gave up on him.
  2. He has to be a troll from another fan page. Every now and then he will post something half decent to make me question it, but I’m certain he is a bitter Falcons fan or something like that...
  3. Favre only played in 33 games his first 3 seasons so let’s check your math. Sat most of his rookie year and only played in 2 games with barely any snaps. His third season he has 19 TDs and 24 INTs with a 60% completion and 72 rating (I’ll be damned the same rating as Darnold in year 3). Like I was saying these players struggled their first 3 years, the Jets brought in a new staff and wanted to get a new face at 2, so they traded Darnold for draft capital. Let’s be honest the Jets haven’t been the best decision makers lately. https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/112/brett-favre There you go buddy you can read it there without trying to correct people.
  4. Rattler and Howell are the givens. Watch out for someone to have a Burrow like year, especially with last year being very short for some teams. Malik Davis looks good, JT Daniels was putting it together once he got healthy at the end of the year, Slovis at USC, and Jayden Daniels at ASU all could jump up with a solid year. It’s really not as bad of a class as people are projecting IMO.
  5. Yeah I mean Alex Smith looked like crap his first three years. He really didn’t take off until Harbaugh became the coach and then again with Andy Reid and the Chiefs. The right staff and system can do wonders for a QB. Troy Aikman and Brett Favre had shitty years they’re first 3 as well. The fact is Darnold is only been in the league 3 years, we little help, and terrible coaching. He is still a big question mark at this point who has bad habits of trying to make something out of nothing (like Favre early in his career).
  6. Hopefully we won’t have to worry about it!
  7. I think it will be a more of a let’s get together and pick the guy we want first option. Then make the trade happen not unlike the Niners did this year. For example trading multiple first round picks to get a guy like Howell or Rattler. A guy that checks most/all boxes in which we will give up a large amount of assets to get even if Fitts thinks the price is too high.
  8. If Darnold flops, I could definitely see Tepper stepping in.
  9. Exactly. Different people have different points of view. The Jets decided Darnold wasn’t the guy and they have professionals that have done this their whole life. Our staff thought differently.
  10. Ok? Still isn’t going to talk bad about a player on camera. That just really confirms they don’t think he is just a stop gap QB.
  11. Writing off an entire school is not good scouting, but that’s for another debate (after all Burrow was stashed away at OSU for a couple years). Yeah he cost little capital, but they gave him no competition at all this year. They have (maybe too much) confidence in Darnold turning it around. People keep saying we can just try again next year, but no one knows how the draft and our circumstances will look next year. Reddick, Robbie, Moton, plus other players are signed through next year. Players like Howell and Rattler could struggle. I just saw how excited Fitts was about how young Darnold is and immediately compared compared him to players in the draft. That made me think he views him as a potential franchise QB. It could have all been for show knowing the camera was on, who knows?
  12. I’m not sure the organization agrees. For one reason they seemed to REALLY like how young he is. If they were just were just wanting a stop gap QB, that really shouldn’t matter. They also had him ranked among the draft’s QB class and passed on two first round talents because they have him. I think the belief is they can make him the guy here. Not saying I agree with it, but that appears (to me at least) to be how they are playing it...
  13. Yeah but JuJu didn’t play his last year when he was considered a top pick. I feel like most decent programs will have plays were the WRs save bad throws. It’s looks to me like he didn’t really have any NFL WRs his last year...
  14. Who were Sam’s receivers in college that made him appear so great? I don’t recall USC having anyone that great in 2017, but I definitely could be overlooking some players...
  15. I think he was implying the bar isn’t high for Darnold to have a career year. His best year’s numbers should be passed easily.
  16. He knows he was proven wrong and is trying hard to pivot to Luke’s career which isn’t even a debate.
  17. No one is saying he wasn’t a great HOF MLB. You are pivoting because I showed you scouts didn’t have him as a perfect prospect. I mean it’s a video of Luke himself reading it. So clearly some fans could have listened to similar scouts and been disappointed at the pick when it happened. He turned out to be one of the NFL’s best players, but that’s not what you were debating.
  18. https://www.google.com/amp/s/pantherswire.usatoday.com/2018/02/02/watch-luke-kuechly-reads-his-ridiculous-nfl-draft-profile/amp/ I mean just Google this poo and stop trying to troll. Here is Luke reading his draft profile about “inflated stats” “lack of speed” and “poor strength” just go to the Bears forum and stay attached to Fields’ nuts.
  19. True. The big thing about Marshall is health. If he can stay healthy I think he has the tools to be a solid number 2 and nice red zone target.
  20. Depth and future starters. Marshall can easily work his way to the slot this year and take Robbie’s spot the following year with Shi having a shot at slot. Christensen could be our LG late this year/next year. Taylor is a bit of a project, but could be our CB2 in a few years. Also Brown might have the RG spot sooner vs later. Young potential depth that have shots at taking over starting gigs.
  21. You were the main person saying smokescreens don’t happen often. Not saying I agree with that or not. People on here, not just you, throw up one source like it’s the honest truth and disregard others because it makes them look wrong. Honestly the best approach is to take clues and contexts from events that actually happen and drawing your own conclusion. We will more that likely never know what really happened. For example, Carolina wanting Darnold from the beginning is something this team wants to sale for obvious reasons, but it just doesn’t really line up with how events unfolded.
  22. Plenty of “sources” claimed we were interested in drafting a QB with the 8th pick, including our very own GM. That was shown to be inaccurate from our “behind the scenes” video. Also plenty of stories will get leaked or released to us fans to push team narratives. These teams have a professional team of PR people that know what they are doing. Claiming one is exactly how it happened and dismissing others seems a bit naive, that’s all...
  23. Trying to play it off... real smooth.
