After seeing the product on the field it’s pretty obvious Houston is the better situation. It’s why Slowik is getting HC interviews and Reich is unemployed. People are confusing the whole Stroud is in a better situation in Houston with people thinking Young is the better player. Stroud is the better QB AND Houston is the better organization for either QB to play in. Both things are true and I’m not sure why anyone wants to argue either of these things.

Ryans was never an option. He was all in on Houston and they were on him. He has turned out to be one hell of a HC so far.

I am team stroud 100%, then AR and then young but if young is the pick I am on board and not looking back. I just hope to hell they know what they are doing because this has never been done before But you probably will have some residual posters (mostly aliases) that will perpetually compare they 2 as they go through their career. God help the huddle if young gets hurt year 1.

Exactly. If you are saying Young and Stroud had equal OL play because of pocket time, then Dak and Howell had the same OL play. Everyone knows this is not the case…

Pocket time doesn’t tell the whole story though. Or Dak is on par with Howell. You can’t lean on it to argue one point and dismiss it for another. The biggest difference I see in Houston and us is Slowik has Houston fully prepared and in sync. Stroud knows where he is going with the ball, his check downs are ready and his WRs are getting separation all with plenty YAC. Slowik, Stroud, and that offense are in sync. It’s also the same offense they run in GB for Love. It’s a young QBs best friend which helps build confidence and when you do that for a talent like Stroud you have him crushing it right now.

We looked at pocket time before. Howell’s is 2.4 but you claim he has the worst OL in the league. I’m not sure that’s the best indicator of good OL play.

If I had to guess I’d say Young would have looked better with Houston but not as good as Stroud and Stroud would have looked worse here but not as bad as Young. There is a good chance Stroud or whoever you put behind our line would end up on IR. I’m not sure how Young didn’t.

He will have them discipline with a strong defense. If he hires a good OC they could be a tough team. I wonder if he brings McDaniels as his OC?

It’s why a lot of people keep saying it’s way more than just a QB issue, it’s our roster and system. Then we traded away CMC and DJ while throwing a rookie back at QB. We have to fix this offense and stop trying to just throw QBs at the problem (Teddy, Sam, Cam, Baker, and Bryce).

Those 2 were ruined by injuries. Still proves the school is a part of the equation and never all of it. UT before Manning, LSU before Burrow etc…

Hopefully no one writes off any other player simply by the school he went to. Draft the player not the school.

Scheme? Brees had a scheme, Manning had a scheme. If their HC is scheming a bad QB to look that good he wouldn’t be on the hot seat. Mahomes is in Reid’s scheme too btw.

True but Day has turned them into a WR factory. Olave, Wilson, JSN, MHJ all were guys Stroud was throwing to. You can have to look at the player not the school and even then it’s a crapshoot.

This is exactly what they said about Stroud. Definitely have to consider it, but at the end of the day what’s the QB going to do? Not throw to the open guy?
