Yeah he is the worst first half preseason HC I’ve ever seen! Fire him now!

I assumed someone asked if it needed to be lowered or not. That man didn’t look like he had a trolling bone in his body. He looks like one of their accountants…

Right? Baker looked solid and Willis looked NFL ready last year. People getting hyped about that were in for a let down. The 3 game preseasons have become even more meaningless with every team doing their own thing. I understand fans getting upset or concerned about individual (looking at you Icky) preseason performances, but fans writing off the whole season and staff I can’t help but laugh it at this point in the season. Could we have a bad year? Yes. Could we have a good year? Yes. Waaaay too early to tell.

Tunsil playing is helping a lot.

Tank Dell could turn into a decent WR for them. Stroud asked them to a draft him apparently.

Preseason Game #2 - who impressed/who disappointed

Cade Mays played decent last year when he filled in. Plus like you stated he can play all positions on the OL. He should be retained IMO. -

Jensen played against lesser talent probably, but I think he can develop into a nice depth player possible starter down the road which is great for an undrafted rookie. -

Nobody is doubting Ekwonu's credentials. The left tackle proved as a rookie that he has what it takes to be the shutdown blindside protector the Carolina Panthers have craved since Jordan Gross, which is exactly why the edge presence is being held to a much higher standard than most. The Panthers now have a franchise quarterback to protect, which makes Ekwonu's role all the more pivotal. His athletic traits are absolutely off the charts, so these two preseason games are more than likely a blip rather than something that could develop into a long-term complication. People on here need to read this part again and again.... -
Stroud is heating up

Delay of gave on the 1 yard line.

Just an hour ago with a troll name…. Hmmm yeah you are a legit poster.

So far Frank Reich needs to be fired because he won’t get mad during a preseason game. Icky is a bust and should try to move to OG. We should bench the top pick in the draft to save him. Our exact same OL last year will be worst than 5 Byron Bells on the OL. The Huddle is a preseason emotional roller coaster.
-
Yeah Reich’s offense had Jonathan Taylor putting up borderline MVP numbers. He will run the ball often, especially with a rookie QB.
-
Logical and correct answer. This is really all that needs to be said. It’s like a WR running the wrong route.

Thank you! I’ve seen no analyst question our promising young LT’s “fit” in our system (which he haven’t even seen in full yet). He just needs to get more reps and learn his assignments.
-
It’s not ideal for a young raw (at pass blocking) LT to have to learn a new system again. I agree with that 100%. I don’t think there was a better option in his draft, but yeah in an ideal world we sign an elite, nimble, dancing bear type vet LT to protect Young’s blindside. Those just aren’t available so we have to develop our own. The good news is Icky has shown he can be great and belongs in the NFL already. He should grow and continue to develop with Young.
-
He was drafted to be a franchise LT. His pass blocking grade was a 67.5 which put him towards the top of the rookies in pass blocking only despite struggling early in the season. He should be solid in most offenses. I’ve seen nothing outside of random huddlers suggesting our promising rookie LT can’t play well in a shotgun Bryce Young offense. That’s simply people overreacting to Icky missing some assignments (nothing to do with physical ability) in a couple preseason games. https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/2023/01/15/panthers-lt-ikem-ekwonu-rookie-rankings-nfl/ Allowing only 3 sacks over the final 15 games is pretty impressive. Does running the ball help set the tone for the OL? Of course and I’m sure our staff with Brown (former running coordinator) and Staley are going to incorporate that into our offense.
-
I think we will be better than people are thing. This staff he put together is too good to be that bad.
-
It sounds to me like he is grooming Brown to take over, which means he will be heavily involved in it.
