Just wait until the regular season when we use our starters and open up the playbook. I have no reason to write off any coach after a couple preseason games. If you thought Reich was going to be emotional on the sidelines you had him wrong from the beginning. Caldwell is an offensive advisor and he was always calm as well. Behind closed doors I’m sure he addresses the issues appropriately or lets his staff handle it. Campen isn’t afraid to the the OL know he expects better. Icky misread an assignment and I understand it was bad in limited playing time. Overall the OL depth played much better than last week.

Luck retiring and the owner forcing him to bench Ryan for a Ehlinger had something to do with it as well.

https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/.amp/gm-report/frank-reich-to-call-offensive-plays-in-2023 Looks like he will start off as the play caller “leaning heavily on Brown” and pass it off to Brown when the time is right.

Our OL showed they were solid and capable last year. We should have the same guys (once Corbett comes back) and same OL coach. Give them a minute to learn the new playbook and they should be fine.

I know it’s the last preseason game, but Young probably needs to play several more series. He needs the reps. I’m surprised he didn’t play the whole first half yesterday honestly.
-
Now imagine writing him off before preseason is over. Only on the huddle.

It’s hard to tell with only a fraction of the playbook being used. It would make the most sense for Brown to call plays with Reich having input/final say. If Reich is letting him call half the plays during preseason, I don’t see him taking all of that away from Brown when the season starts. He will at minimum be heavily involved in the play calling IMO.

Malik Willis looked solid against defenses last preseason. Regular season was a different story.
-
It was him running the wrong assignment. He went for the same guy BC did originally then tried to recover. That is mental and doesn’t matter what position he is playing.

You aren’t wrong. -

Lol I never said he was good at it. It’s just his natural position and what he played at PSU. -

He is out of position. He is a 4-3 DE not OLB and Rhule still overdrafted him. -
You aren’t alone. I’ll wait for the regular season before I start making judgements.
-
He has the staff to handle the position groups. Campen won’t be soft on his OL.
-
Yep. This summarizes it from a former NFL OL.
-
So the players better than your boy Glass?
-
He gets a hard on if Carolina struggles and when they play well he disappears. Remember he wanted us to draft Aqeel Glass who is now a backup on the USFL (if he isn’t cut yet).
-
It’s like the reps are making him better…
-
Agreed. I’m wondering if we are keeping a lot of starters out (or playing them briefly) because of the depth concern.
-
Yeah our depth is a definite weakness. I hope we stay relatively healthy this season.

It’s @Zod getting ready to get us some good pics

We might need it to get back in sync.
