  1. I get the tape weighs much more than anything else, but the physical ability does come into play. It's why Josh Allen went early and AR probably will too. Also let's not pretend like Stroud's tape wasn't incredible. He tops Young in just about every passing statistic there is against solid competition and has the best rating in the NCAA. You don't get that from mediocre tape...
  2. He must have a much smaller sample size of being under pressure. That OSU OL kept his pocket clean and he got the ball out fast.
  3. It's the Huddle. If anyone is wrong about anything they go crazy. Most sources are using educated guesses, but it is still a guess. Not to mention a lot can change between now and draft day.
  4. If we landed MHJ to pair with our young QB, this place would explode with excitement! With that said, I would be very surprised if it was next year's first to move up one spot...
  5. I think they are also trying to get Indy involved. If the Texans think their division rival is about to jump then to take their QB, they may give up something to prevent that.
  6. The "theory" would be we like both Young and Stroud so if Houston gives up significant capital to take their guy then we would gladly accept. I'm not 100% sold on it, but a few people have mentioned Carolina being ok with trading down if the price is right.
  7. The million dollar question is does our staff want to move down to 2 and acquire more capital. If that is the case then the Young at 1 is being "leaked" because that is Houston's guy. The counter is they have the top pick and can be as bold as they want about it. They moved up to 1 with Young being a great pick and will still do their research on the other guys to validate him as the guy.
  8. Valid point. My hope is the better OL and much better staff that would be around AR would help offset Cam being the more developed passer. I really think it's between Young and Stroud at 1 though. If we move down then AR is probably in play.
  9. If they know for sure Houston offered next year’s first to the Bears because they want Young then I could see this approach. Imagine getting that pick plus Stroud at 2. It would make the original Bears trade hurt way less.
  10. Mond was released. He is like 3rd string on the Browns now. Maybe practice squad?
  11. “Ideally” yes, but who knows how high they are on his other traits. Also this is all just Fitt’s input on the position. I imagine the pick will be a collaboration of Fitt, Reich and his staff. I don’t want AR at 1, but I think people read too much into these press conferences.
  12. The problem is there isn't a "generational" talent in this draft which is why the first pick was for sale. Hopefully our staff can take one of these talented young QBs and develop them into a franchise QB. If anyone can do it, it's our new staff.
  13. Yeah this is their job and they get paid millions to do it. They are going to give us fans “hints” at something they don’t want everyone to know for a reason…
  14. Keep reading into GM press conferences in March. It’s fun to speculate. They could be lying, telling the truth, or just speaking a lot of nothing. It tends to be the last more than not IMO. I’m not saying it’s not Young and I’m happy if it is, but which of those things doesn’t describe Stroud?
  15. He would just say Young if he wanted to be so bold right? We hold the top pick and if he is convinced Young checks all the boxes then just say it. He described a prototypical QB. If they are making you think it’s a QB without saying it, then what’s the point of that?
  16. If it’s Hooker Irsay will trade whatever we want to acquire it.
  17. Fitt: the QB has to be able to throw the ball Huddle: OMG! Young throws the ball! It’s Young!
  18. He is a professional GM. He isn’t going to give anything away in a press conference on accident.
  19. Running a 2TE set where they both are solid pass catchers would really help a rookie QB and our offense disguise protections. I wouldn’t hate one of those TEs at 39.
  20. Plus his name is Mack which is respectable.
  21. So we got a nice possession WR, The big catch radius jump ball WR, now we need a speed WR to keep the safeties honest. Chark/Hardman fit that role or maybe we draft one. Josh Downs seems good for that role as well.
