I mean we were 500 under Wilks? Granted it was an easy schedule, but add a QB and a better staff plus giving them an offseason to prepare... I could see next year being a learning curve with new schemes and a rookie QB, but after that we should be in decent shape to compete.

I definitely understand where you are coming from. I’d prefer we not use the 25 first if at all possible and maybe just move up to 3. It’s all just speculation at this point anyway.

I don’t. I think if our staff wants a top 3 talented prospect at the QB position that is the cost for it. They can hope another Mahomes or Jackson gets overlooked in a draft and they can develop that player also. I just think they are wanting to start this whole QB development process this year. Maybe they sign Carr tomorrow and this is all for nothing who knows?

If you are investing all that money in Carr I think we would use the picks for weapons to help him excel. Drafting a QB could also piss him off. It would be VERY aggressive though!

That 1 can have a bigger impact than the other 3 especially if the next two years aren’t top 10 picks. It’s Cam’s impact vs Brown/Horn/CMC plus two later 1st round picks like Shaq or Benjamin. QBs are just that valuable anymore. I know you have to still build a team around them and missing those next 2 firsts will impact that greatly. The good news is we should be able to sign FAs with a rookie pay scale QB and out cleared up cap space the next two years.

Yeah it’s a big loss, but it’s also an opportunity to add a staff-viewed top talented QB. Something (in theory) we won’t be in a position to do for a long time assuming our staff does it’s thing. That’s unfortunately the opportunity cost.

Tepper was high on Fields for his draft. Maybe you are remembering that? There was a rumor he was high on Levis but that was before last season.

Williams and Foreman seem very similar. I’d prefer whoever costs less.

Most high round rookie QBs get 3 years if not more to prove themselves though right? Unless they completely struggle like Zach Wilson who still might be playing into his third year unless they find someone else...

Yes they both did their parts as drawn up by Daboll and his staff. No one carried that offense…. The offense kind of ran through Barkley TBH. Jones had a decent year too, but Barkley finally being healthy played a big part in that.

If we can’t find a spot for Chinn on our new defense, does he become part of the trade? I could also see 9, the CMC picks, plus Burns to get it done. If you swap Burns for Chinn it will take next year’s first also plus possibly more.
