  1. Yeah the NIners picked "that motherf******" and the following year were trading up in the draft to replace him while Brady won a championship. We had an opportunity to sign Mitch, a QB that the Bears drafted over Mahomes and Watson. These are mistakes made by teams...
  2. Why does it matter? They were no longer interested in playing for their teams so they traded them for a return while they could. Why would a team want a QB playing for them that isn't interested? That's much different than a team telling a QB in his prime, they are no longer interested in him playing for their franchise and trying to trade him (with no results so far). That's basically what we did with Teddy. Do you think the Lions or Seahawks would have traded 3 first rounders to move up and take a QB then randomly put Stafford/Russ on the trade block? ESPN and us fans would be so confused. The Niners did it and no one batted an eye because we all know Jimmy G was their weakness. Elite defense, strong running game and then your QB keeps throwing INTs in the playoffs. Hmmm what can they do to make this team better???
  3. When did I say you can't keep one that has requested a trade? I said Russ and Stafford were traded because they requested it. Good QBs don't get put on the trade block randomly. Russ and Stafford also got to pick and chose which team they were traded to as it was more out of respect for spending a large portion of their career for that franchise and requesting to be traded later in their careers. Trading 3 first rounds to draft a QB to replace your 29 year starter followed by putting him on the trade block the next year is a totally different situation. If Jimmy G was good there would be a bidding war for him and the Niners wouldn't be wanting to replace him at age 30. Stafford, Russ, even Matt Ryan were all traded before the draft and pretty quickly once they were put on the trade block, because that is what happens when GOOD QBs are available. Jimmy G and Baker Mayfield are both still available because they are simply average or less and teams aren't going to want to give up assets and pay a high salary for a mediocre QB. As it sits right now the Niners might be stuck with him because there isn't enough interest to equate whatever value they have for him.
  4. Brady wanted to play for the Niners. That was his childhood favorite team and he grew up a Montana fan. That’s one of the reasons he was mad they didn’t want him when he was available. The fact they wanted someone as bad as Jimmy G as their starter just made him more pissed about it. “Brady is a free agent looking to return to the Bay Area, looking to play for the 49ers, his hometown franchise and the team he grew up rooting for. But then, once again, somebody tells him that they’d rather roll with Jimmy Garoppolo. This is the guy who just cost the 49ers a Super Bowl victory by overthrowing Emmanuel Sanders. This is the guy Niners coach Kyle Shanahan only trusted to throw the ball eight times in the NFC Championship. The 49ers’ Super Bowl window was closing rapidly, and they passed up an opportunity to snag Tom Brady?!”
  5. I'd be eager to ask Sam about those ghosts he was seeing on the football field.
  6. They are over here comparing Jimmy G to Stafford and Russ. It's getting as bad as the Sam just needs a good OL crowd.
  7. Lol even Brady was shocked they wanted to keep Jimmy G. At least they realized he is holding them pack and traded up to draft a QB the following year…
  8. They might not have any other option. No one wants to pay that salary to get an average QB. Also I’m going to need some sources showing the Niners are waiting on him to be 100% and they need to be legit ones like you always request.
  9. Because THEY requested it. Do you really not see a difference? Did either franchise trade away 3 first rounds to replace either of them at 29?
  10. Hasn’t Corbet always played RG? I’m not sure he can switch that easily. I think Bozeman played some LG as well. Starting off could be Icky, Bozeman, Elf, Corbet, Moton and maybe slowly work a young guy at LG like Brown, Mays, or BC as the season progresses and Icky gets comfortable whilr sliding Bozeman back to C.
  11. Only Stafford was traded because HE requested it. The others two were past their mid 30s and WANTED to go somewhere else after their contracts were up. Let’s also not act like Manning was the reason the Broncos won that Super Bowl. Also imagine Detroit trading 3 first round picks for a QB while Stafford was in his prime? No one questioned the Niners doing it for a reason. Why are their no trade offers for Jimmy right now? Shouldn’t teams be all over a QB that can win. You know who else was a “winner” despite average stats? Teddy. When he went to a below average team he was horribly exposed and went 5-11.
  12. You don’t put great QBs on the trading block. You also don’t trade away 3 1st rounders to replace them. Their head coach is also a “winner” with the same record and he wants to move on from Jimmy.
  13. Yeah seems kind of low for Mills…
  14. What about the history of Fitts drafting a QB in the 3rd? Honestly the odds of ANY drafted QB becoming an elite franchise guy are slim. On a side note one could argue the most promising rookie QB in that loaded class last year was David Mills who was drafted in the 3rd. He did more with less talent around him than any of the others IMO. Corral should have as good of a chance as any prospect. He is being treated like a high round pick despite where he was drafted. He should have a lot of talent protecting him on the OL with some nice weapons in Moore and CMC (Marshall will hopefully contribute this year). McAdoo is going to be in his ear every practice sharing what he learned coaching a great QB in Rodgers. If we traded down and picked Corral later in the first (which very easily could have happened) we would be expecting him to be the guy. We got lucky and snagged him in the 3rd PLUS Icky to protect his blind side. Let’s sit back and actually enjoy this offseason, because so far it’s been a promising one.
  15. When people say that I think they are referring to average capable RBs. We signed a midseason FA RB in Abdullah who did quite well. RBs like CMC, Kamara, Cook etc are in a different class, if they can stay healthy they are game changers.
  16. It's a win if Corral and Icky look the part. Hopefully they do and we might even get a new coach to properly develop them. I'm not expecting much record wise...
  17. Thanks for your insight and contribution. Why in the world would you read/react to a board that was been "ruined" in your eyes? Is there nothing else you can do with your free time?
  18. I didn't realize Rhule had some fans still hanging around. I'm optimistic that he is learning and through his experienced coordinators/assistants and Fitt taking on more of the GM responsibilities that he can still have us winning some games soon. I don't really think the Bengals coach is that great, but he got some talented players and let his coordinators do their thing which worked out well for him. Something like that could work out in Rhule's favor. However outside of my cautious optimism that he can learn/evolve I don't really seen what he has done that has contributed to our success as a franchise...
  19. Lol fair point. If I remember correctly that defense carried them through most of their wins with him...
  20. It was Josh McDaniels who didn’t exactly kill it with his The Golden Calf of Bristol project.
