Exactly! He had Cooper briefly and now Waller, but outside of that not much is going on in LV. He still took them into the payoffs through all the Gruden drama and coaching changes. Carr is very underrated in this league. I posted an article on here that compared Matt Ryan's Derek Carr's and Tom Brady's stats and he was pretty much on par with them. It was before Matt Ryan's recent decline.

Yeah, I'm ok with the sitting back and waiting on either two guys. If they are released and come pretty cheap then ok sure sign them as a placeholder until Corral is ready. Trading for one, paying too much money, or signing one to be our starter all year is dumb IMO. We need to see what we have in Corral BEFORE the next draft.

2021 Carolina Panther's draft picks
ForJimmy replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think Nixon and Tremble should make some jumps in development. Tremble was pretty raw as a pass catcher coming out. The big one for me is Marshall. If Marshall can become a contributor on offense and eventually replace Robbie this draft could be decent. Our staff was looking to trade Robbie which might tell us they are confident in Marshall. -

This! Roll that cap over to offset some of these restructures we did this year. Either Sam is going to play and get Rhule fired or we will see what we have in Corral. Hopefully it’s Corral, but either way let’s play it out this year with minor changes/money spent.

It’s all in fun. He just pointing out where they were drafted size etc. Even states “probably not.” It’s similar to when you compared Howell to Favre. Obviously these are 1 in a million chances either of these have those type of careers, but both share some similar traits to these HOF QBs. It’s interesting because Corral has said he modeled some of his game after Rodgers and Rodgers grew up a big Niners fan. I’m sure Rodgers mimics Montana in some ways after growing up watching him.

People on here playing hindsight GM/NFL Scout…. Easiest job in the world is to draft players AFTER you see what kind of careers they have.

Allow 0 points and they will never lose! Seriously it’s hard to really measure our defense last year. Our offense was so bad the other team constantly had the ball with good field positioning from turnovers. This made it where we allowed less yards, but more points. They also preferred to run vs pass against us. This can shorten a game and allow less possessions. It also made our pass defense look better than it probably really was.

Listen to the commentator. He has to know when to throw the ball away. Hell he could even run for a few yards because he had so much time. Forcing a ball into a INT on the first play sets a terrible tone for the whole game.

The funny this is Miami actually had a worse OL than we did last season. Both their QBs looked significantly better behind a worse OL than Sam and neither has shown to be anything special so far. Average QBs can still make SOME plays behind bad OLs and show some potential. Darnold was bottom of the league awful. It doesn’t matter how the pocket was, if the first read wasn’t open then you know the play is going to poo with him. He was a LB learning to play QB in high school and has never fully picked up on how to read defenses and it doesn’t look like he ever will.

We discussed this and he is the next Joe Montana damn it! So who are we getting at 32?

But can he play LT…. oh wait???

I feel like I’m an excited fan again. Are we going to the playoffs next year? I highly doubt it, but for the first time in a while we have a lot of young talent with potential on both sides of the ball. We have Horn who barely played last year so it’s like throwing another top 10 pick out there. Burns/Brown can anchor our DL, we added some vets at LB, Horn and DJax should make our CBs a strength if CJ flashes we could be great there, Woods let’s Chinn play more of a SS role so we should have 2 solid safeties for the first time in a while. I’m hoping YGM makes his year 3 leap and anchors his side of the DL.

This draft was a win/win. We got a LT that almost all The Huddlers wanted and got a QB that a group of us wanted for a cost that most are happy with.
-
Didn’t want Watson with the off field issues. Throw in what it costs to acquire him and definitely did not want. Having Icky should beat out most available LTs. Rookie contract plus the great ones aren’t going to be available. So now we have Icky on a rookie contract and a potential QB on a 3rd round rookie contract and all picks but our 3rd next year. Corral and Icky all day. They might bust, but Icky will be a great LG absolute worst case and Corral costs next to nothing. Losing out on Watson may be the best thing to happen to us in a while…

While playing against some tough defenses/teams in the SECW.

Oh definitely fun to watch! Did his arm somehow get stronger? It looks like he has to air it out to get it down the field. Brees made that work, so it’s possible to still play at a high level like that just kind of rare. I kind of like the Kentucky QB out of next year’s class.

https://nflmocks.com/2021/10/20/2022-nfl-draft-coastal-carolina-qb-grayson-mccall-fun-study/amp/ So are the traits enough for an early-ish selection in the 2022 NFL Draft? It doesn’t feel like it right now. The arm strength isn’t there, and he doesn’t generate a ton of velocity. He hangs his hat on placement down the field, but things might balloon too much against NFL speed. His processing needs to improve a bit in structure and under pressure.

I’ve seen McCall’s arm get questioned a bit. It works for his college system, but might not be an NFL arm. Pickett has a stronger arm IMO.
