  1. No he is quite proud of that. I know that for a fact.
  2. He looks to have good size 6’4” and a strong (no pun intended) arm. I was reading he has surprising mobility for his size too. The bad news it he has a terrible knee injury in High School that kept him out his senior year and prevented him from getting D1 scholarships. He would need a very good medical report to go in the first. Our team doctors need to hire someone else to check him out too because they are terrible apparently…
  3. Easy on the dog, it is an innocent bystanders. Janderson just wants some attention.
  4. I think he is too strong of a personality to be a backup. Cam is an alpha on the field and he just isn’t good enough to be a starter anymore (aside from our team, but we burned that bridge). Plus he would have to learn a playbook mid season. At this point most teams are rolling with what they have either to the playoffs or for development of the team. Only lower tier FAs will be signed as backups to fill roster spots like a Barkley.
  5. So what’s the expectation here? We draft an elite C or G and roll with Darnold? So we have Erving, Elf, Elite Rookie, ??, and Moton with Darnold behind center. That’s not going to look much different that what we see right now. It’s going to take some FA talent OL to fill all 4 positions. We have 1 pick in the first 3 rounds. It needs to be some placeholders on the OL and hopefully one premium FA to going along with Moton. The QB position can at least be addressed with one pick. What did teams like LAC, and CIN do when their lines were awful? Draft a QB (you have to have one to compete) and then start addressing the OL. I wish we had drafted Fields, so we would be one year further along in this rebuild…
  6. If this train wreck continues, he will lose his team and it will lead to his termination. The contract isn’t an issue.
  7. This. Even if you can get your line to average with quality FAs, it would be a huge improvement. You pretty much have to draft a QB at some point.
  8. This has been debunked so many times. The Bears line is worse than ours and he is still flashing potential. The Dolphins line is worse and Brissett looked solid behind it. Good QB play can hide a bad line to a degree with the right OC. Herbert and Burrow had terrible lines their rookie year and looked good. You grab the QB when you get a chance if you don’t have one.
  9. Ugh he is terrible, but easily the best QB on our roster now…
  10. It was so frustrating watching us pass on him knowing he has so much talent… Ugh, what can we do right? He is only going to get better, especially when they move in from Nagy.
  11. Yes our record is better than Chicago’s, but whose offense is looking better as of late?
  12. That’s not exactly what that means. Many QBs get rid of the ball BEFORE the pocket collapses. It means that Darnold just holds the ball longer than almost every QB in the league.
  13. He can’t read a defense so he holds the ball too long and STILL makes horrible mistakes.
  14. lol but our line is so terrible! It has to be their fault right??
  15. Yeah the defenses get together and celebrate after turnovers. This game was awful… The nonexistent holding call that turned over a TD to Graham, the awful roughing the passer that wasn’t called on Fields. I’m afraid Fields is going to get the Cam treatment for roughing the passer…
  16. Did Fields start the season off terrible? Yes. He is a rookie and that’s expected, but he is progressing and getting better. That Steeler defense is no joke. Fields also has bad coaching (Nagy), a bad line, and not that many weapons yet he is still getting better each week. Much better place to be than a 4 year starter who is getting worse, ranks among the bottom of the league, and is owed north of $18 million next year. To the people saying drafting Horn has helped us get off the field on 3rd down. In theory this is true, but Horn has only played like 2 games and we are still able to do this. DJax, Bouye, Taylor, Melvin and crew with the addition of Gilmore and Henderson would have been capable. Plus we would have our picks and a QB on the rookie salary. It’s a much better place to be. We would be looking at OL with our first 2 round picks to protect Fields, plus have an extra $18 million next year. I know it’s easy to play the hindsight game, but a huge portion of this board was wanting this even after we signed Darnold.
  17. Yeah look no further than rookie year Herbert and Burrow. Yeah Burrow got hurt, but both he and Herbert played great behind terrible offensive lines.
  18. I can’t believe we aren’t 32 in pass blocking. As LG stated, there is no reason why BC and Brown shouldn’t be getting playing time now. We know these vets (outside of Moton) aren’t the answer.
  19. That’s the story for every FA and draft pick (especially 1st round OL, it’s become as risky as QBs). Most franchise QBs were drafted by their team. Several of the top lines have high tier FAs on them. You have to find your QB to compete. We probably won’t be able to replace all 4 linemen, but replacing 2 out of 4 with a top tier FA is a good way to start. Late draft picks can come in and compete with BC, Brown, and whoever else we gave on our roster. Just getting our line from bottom of the league to middle will do wonders.
  20. Browns picked up Conklin and he is playing great, Rams Whitworth, Niners Trent Williams, Chiefs Thuney, there are plenty examples of veterans coming in and helping. We would still have Moton (who we drafted) and players like BC, and Brown who can hopefully develop. It won’t be a total overhaul, but we need a couple solid players to pair with Moton to make our line competitive. We won’t go from bottom tier to top, but hopefully we can get in the middle and work our way up,
  21. I named 5 in one of the posts you quoted. Cam Robinson (average), Armstead (elite), Sherff (elite), Teller (solid), and Connor Williams (average to above average). Orlando Brown is set to become one, but I’m sure the Chiefs lock him up. DJax would be a luxury to resign. I wish we traded him or Bouye before the deadline. With Horn coming back and Taylor starting to play great we won’t need Bouye, DJax, and Gilmore to get paid. I’d personally like Gilmore as a vet presence out of the 3, but I’m not sure his price tag matches his age.
  22. We overspend for lower level FAs like Erving , Elf, and Paradis all with injury concerns. Sometimes you have to pay premiums for s premium product. Drafting a QB gives you 4-5 years with a QB on a rookie deal. That allows you to pay more for talent around him. Once you have your guy you start drafting and developing players to replace them after your QB gets paid.
  23. There will be FA options, you just have to pay for them. I’d rather spend money on that than another $15 million Sam or $20 million Teddy journeyman QB. Go pick up Cam Robinson, Scherff, Armstead, Teller, or Connor Williams. Work in BC and Brown. Herbert and Burris (injury aside) played with terrible lines their first year. You have to have a QB period. Give Darnold a better line and he will just hold the ball longer and continue to make terrible decisions. Having to watch him again next year will be a tough sell for the fans.
  24. He should have called an all out blitz the next play. Even if Mac hands it off you lay him out. That’s the only way he will learn not to play dirty like that.
