Depends on how they use Pitts. If he is lined up out wide and is there best weapon I would expect our best coverage guy to cover him. That’s the luxury of Horn IMO, he has the speed and size to take away our opponent’s best weapon. With Julio gone and Pitts being drafted so high, he will get plenty of looks his rookie year. Horn covered Pitts some when USC played Florida and did ok.
-
I remember you saying everyone in the league wanted him desperately despite injuries and cap hit. Looks like he went for a 2nd round pick. Basically what we gave up to get Darnold... except the Titans in theory will be a very late 2nd rounder.
-
So now Horn/Chinn can work on Pitts, making the Falcons much more stoppable from a defensive point of view. A 2nd round isn’t good value either. It’s probably going to be late 50s/early 60s for arguably the best WR in the league.

Lol yeah he really took a stab in the dark on that one? Titans were the favorites to land him the whole time.
-
Yeah again I don’t think either should be on a roster. I’m by no means advocating for Grier. Bringing in a new guy is definitely the best option. The main reason I was putting down PJ is because it was getting suggested that he start over Darnold. Just a dumb statement....
-
He is a Panther now, like it or not. Let’s hope he works out and stop trying to troll every post about him.

Where are the McCown brothers?
-
Brett Hundley might be a good option. He isn’t great, but he has experience and is a capable backup.
-
Hopefully not. Unless one of the undrafted rookies like Peyton Ramsey look serviceable, which I doubt...

How much of the Jets performance was really on Darnold?
ForJimmy replied to SBBlue's topic in Carolina Panthers
FYI Sizzle is a troll. You can answer his questions with data and examples and he will just keep adding to it or changing it to keep his trolling alive. It’s a waste of time to engage. Remember Don’t Feed The Trolls. -
I’m not arguing Grier vs Walker. Honestly they both don’t belong in the NFL. Walker’s Saints game was a disaster. My post was referencing someone wanting Walker to play over Darnold which is nonsense.
-
I mean PJ was a undrafted rookie who was shown zero ability in the NFL, is older than Darnold, is smaller than Darnold with a weaker arm, and was out of the league just over a year ago. If we cut him there is a big chance he won’t get signed anywhere else. The only thing keeping him here is familiarity with Rhule from Temple.

Marshall hasn’t taken a NFL snap yet, much less a NFL tackle. His injuries worry me enough not to make a recent 1000 yard WR expendable... Also if Julio is valued at around a 2nd as the rumors are saying, what could be possibly get for Robbie? A 3rd/4th? I think giving Shi and Marshall a year behind Robbie would be best. Now if he is demanding a trade or extension, that’s a different story...

Can you sneak in dressed as Anderson?

Ian Thomas on Sam Darnold: 'He's the Quarterback That We Need'
ForJimmy replied to CarolinaLivin's topic in Carolina Panthers
“He wants everything to be perfect” is a great sign. All of the great QBs seem like they are perfectionist. Honestly one of the concerns I had about Darnold is the relaxed, laid back, SoCal demeanor he seems to have. If he turns on the competitive, perfectionist attitude during practice and games I’ll feel a lot better. -
Shi Smith was a steal. He never had solid QB play at USC. Not only will he make the team, but I bet he gets some playing time this year. I think our future WR group is DJ, Marshall, and Shi in the slot.

Panthers moving Chinn to safety. Thoughts?
ForJimmy replied to BurnNChinn's topic in Carolina Panthers
Makes sense. I mean it’s a way to keep him and Burris/Franklin on the field at once. I guess we don’t have a true FS and he has the most speed of the SS group. -

Does he have the speed to play FS? I assumed it would be more of a SS role. -
He should be nice and healthy after having a year off. I think he had a bit of an injury history.

June 1st (trade and cut transactions) rumors
ForJimmy replied to Leotiger's topic in Carolina Panthers
This final year should be what we need to develop Shi Smith and Marshall. If either one is looking legit, then we let him walk no problem. Hopefully get a comp you stated and let Robbie go get paid elsewhere. -
June 1st (trade and cut transactions) rumors
ForJimmy replied to Leotiger's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah I understand. He seemed pretty clear about thinking Robbie would stay more than likely. It would be odd if he was SEEKING a trade after being united with his old QB, but that’s not the case. I think there are a few trolls on here that have some of us on edge. The Sizzles and Trainwrecks constantly talking bad about Darnold and the team can be pretty frustrating on a Panthers Fan Forum... -

Difference in opinions are going to happen. It’s what helps keep conversations going on this board. As long as fans aren’t cheering or hoping for bad fortune on our players or team I’m ok with it. Hell I’m pretty skeptical about Darnold myself, but I see enough reason to be hopeful he does great here. -

Anderson is a great number 2. I’d really like to keep him this year and make sure Marshall is 100% healthy. If we trade him and Marshall can’t stay on the field, our WR group doesn’t look so hot anymore (as from DJ).
