Round 5 - The Carolina Panthers Select Jammie Robinson - S - Florida State
NAS replied to rodeo's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think the only reason he fell to 5th is his 40 time is a little slow for a defensive back. I think this is a solid depth pick up, not just for special teams, I think he can actually develop into a solid rotational player. -
Regardless if they actually rate him, you have to also see where they are projected to go. There's no need to panic when you are almost certain to have him at 93, maybe even 132.
-
Same. I would have been fine with him at pick 132 and he probably still would have been there
-
None of these will be there. Our draft is done

80. Carolina Panthers: D.J. Johnson, Edge, Oregon This could qualify as a reach for the Panthers, who traded up for Johnson. The No. 21-ranked edge rusher graded as a fifth-rounder by Brugler, Johnson (6-4, 260) was an elite performer at the combine. He ran a 4.49 40 and his wingspan measured 80 inches. At Oregon, Johnson played outside linebacker and tight end until the 2022 season when had six sacks. He had 39 tackles last year as an honorable mention selection. He’s athletic but unrefined. It’s a reach at this point of the draft. Grade: D+

I am fine that we went WR. It’s more Important to surround Bryce Young with weapons and allow him to have early success, even if we have a weakness elsewhere. That said, I don’t think they should have traded up because Johnson would have been there at 93. They panicked when Byron Young was taken by the Rams at 77. They probably wish they traded up to get him instead before the Rams did not one of Scott’s finer moments

If we stay at 93, who do you predict we take? I say Byron Young , he can play edge in a 3-4, solid against the run too

Colts taking Will Levis in the 2nd after drafting AR15?
NAS replied to TheWiz's topic in Carolina Panthers
He’s just trolling now -
Reinforces the perception of being entitled and egotistical

Levis will not attend the second round of the draft on Friday night https://www.si.com/nfl/2023/04/28/will-levis-will-not-attend-second-night-of-nfl-draft-kansas-city-report

This. Plenty of guys with superior physical traits have failed at the actual of job of playing the position. Most recent example is Trey Lance.

The greats have this confidence coupled with humility. Even Muhammad Ali who came across as boisterous in his media persona is said to have been a very humble and gracious person when dealing with ordinary people on a daily basis. Bryce Young has leadership, confidence, and humility to be successful
