  1. I don't think a scheme change is going to help him out much... We ran plenty of 4-2-5 nickel while he was here and he looked terrible when he was out there on those downs
  2. Would have thought for sure his new team would be whatever CFL team has the equivalent of our defense from last year...
  3. Ha, I forgot his beer tossing game was against Jacksonville. Hope they roast the poo outta Tepper
  4. Curious how Renfrow looks if he does end up being the slot starter this Sunday. Really need our oline to hold up against the Jags pass rush. The Jags weren't particularly great against the rush last year, so hopefully we can let Lewis and Hunt dominate and just run it up the middle on them
  5. Pretty sad that most fans in the Jaguars reddit have already penciled in a week 1 win against us and are focusing on the Bengals next week. That being said, I can't blame them with how much of a dumpster fire this organization has been for 7+ years
  6. Too late to do that after this draft. Most of our front 7 is better suited for a 3-4 compared to a 4-3. And honestly, we are still going to be in a nickel defense about half of the game because of how many 3 receiver sets are run. Nickel is the base defense now for a lot of teams
  7. Perfect - sounds like a good chance to get another Nick Scott on our team.... We will have the best special teams in the league while letting every team we play throw it deep against us
  8. That trade resulted in the following players... Jonathan Mingo (which I guess turned into a fourth round pick because of Dallas, which led to Etienne) and DJ Johnson... Please, enlighten me as to how we won that trade
  9. Needing to move on from him because we were a dumpster fire (and still are) - I agree Saying we fleeced the 49ers is something... We 100% didn't (at least not yet). He was fully healthy the season he went there and the year after. Obviously last year didn't go too well for him on the injury front. If he continues to miss half a season or more the rest of the time with the 49ers, then I agree. Otherwise, we lost the trade
  10. Nice, hopefully that is the last of having to watch Bartholomew be complete ass
  11. Hmmm... Maybe he is right, but just reading your comment (I didn't listen to the podcast) makes it sound like Davis is upset he didn't touch the ball. Honestly, our coaching staff relied on CMC so much his last two to three years, it may not have only been CMC wanting to stay on. And while getting the ball six times in a row can be unusual, CMC was the rare player that was both the best running back and receiver on the team... I just think that speaks to CMC wanting to win and knowing that he was the best offensive player on the field for us. I still envision a parallel universe where Stanford didn't run CMC into the ground and he stays healthy for us his entire time playing for us.
  12. Yeah.. I felt like he looked 80 years old like 30 years ago... Dude has aged terribly and I feel like he has to be pretty close to death's doorstep
  13. And to think we could have traded burns, a pass rusher much worse than Parsons, for almost the same as Parsons... God we blew that chance
  14. Nice! We desperately need him out there. Curious if we have a tight end/RB help block the left side with Icky (presumably) out vs jacksonville
  15. Yikes, if we have no Icky or Lewis week 1, better have Bryce roll out to the right every single pass play or he might die...
  16. Wonder what led to them deciding to remove his appendix. I know its mostly a useless organ, but weird timing to do it right now without a cause
  17. I think it's a combination of that and other potential HC candidates wanted nothing to do with Tepper because of how much he wanted to be in control of all aspects of the football team.
  18. Love Cam, but this statement right here resonates with me. The amount of times Cam would overthrow a RB on a swing pass, many times because he wanted to torpedo it in there instead of just lofting it, always drove me insane. In terms of the deep ball - we didn't have a legit deep ball threat after Smitty left for Baltimore - sorry, Tedd Ginn just running deep every play and having no other route he could run doesn't count. Didn't help we went from Chudz, a vertical passing playbook (think he ran some time of Air Coryell offense), to Mike "run, run, pass, punt" Shula. Cam did look good under Norv (Air Coryell again) and finally had a deep ball threat (DJ) until his shoulder died. After that, he couldn't really throw the ball beyond 20 yards. I actually thought Cam threw deep balls pretty well - it was the 15ish yard routes (which wouldn't have been that bad if we didn't have so many stone hands receivers) and the RB screen/swing passes that he struggled with IMO.
  19. Easy - because Frank didn't have a choice. Tepper 100% wanted Bryce and that was never going to change. The better question is why did Tepper hire Frank knowing Bryce was not fit for his system
  20. Or i could just go to one of the many "high seas" websites and watch the game. Or just go to a bar - there are enough that have bottled cheap beers for $4-5 or a bucket of cheap beers for like $20. Not sure why anyone pays for the NFL package in today's age
  21. Yeah, it's like upgrading from a pile of elephant poo to a pile of horse poo. It's technically an upgrade, but is it really...
  22. I don't know - he played for a wonky BS offense with Tennessee and I thought he had some red flags on his tape while playing for them. Not surprised he has struggled in the NFL
