  1. I feel like they always have been (at least the last 10 years). Gotta pray we can stop the run and that Dak turns into a pumpkin in the game (aka turns into Bryce)
  2. I think we are fine at safety once we cut Nick Scott... Maybe a safety that specializes in coverage would help. I think inside linebacker and a couple more down lineman (if we are still 3-4/nickel) are more important
  3. Crazy thing is he can fit crazy accurate throws on this pass routes. Then next play he will miss the LB/safety that drops into the deep middle zone...
  4. Bryce fumbling that ball against Miami is like my girlfriend seeing a scare actor for Halloween. Just screams and throws everything in her hands at the scare actor
  5. Agreed. I do think our free agent acquisitions + our safeties being better against the run have helped also. If we can figure out our pass coverage issues in the middle third of the field, I would actually like our overall defense (at least like it enough).
  6. I'm going by the eyeball test. Outside of the Jacksonville game (which wouldn't have been the worst if Etienne didn't have that 70-yard run), we have done a good job of limiting first down runs to three yards or less a lot this season. The falcons game rushing stats look worse than it truly was - I think the falcons got about 60 rushing yards in garbage time when they were down 30. Otherwise, it has mostly been something around 25 carries for the other team for ~100 yards. Last season, it felt like every first down run was going for at least 6 yards.
  7. Well, we have definitely improved from allowing like 300 rushing yards a game to a much lower amount
  8. He doesn't get a lot of sacks because the dude is double teamed every play
  9. That one play where he literally just shoved the LG for the Dolphins completely out of the blocking lane then sacked Tua was pretty filthy. Guy is insanely strong and insanely smart with his hand placement to shed blocks. He is definitely a big reason why our run defense looks better
  10. At some point, I have to question if these things are staged or if the people are very stupid. I sure as hell would not be streaming myself watching my favorite team play - especially if it's a Charlotte-based team.... The people around me can enjoy me cussing the team out nonstop - I don't need to let possibly millions of people watch me do it on the Internet
  11. This. I watched Mahomes win a superbowl 3 years with literal JAGs at WR + a good, but old Kelce. Like the receivers were so bad that Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore were their #1 and #2 receivers. That didn't stop the Chiefs from scoring 38 on the Eagles
  12. So... you are saying it isn't Bryce's fault and haven't invested enough on offense because we don't have the best/highest paid WR, RB, and TE in the NFL? We haven't spent money on WR/TE because we literally have drafted a WR in the 1st round in back-to-back years... Tet is clearly a stud being held back by Bryce - he probably has an extra 200-300 yards and a few touchdowns more with a competent QB and play caller. We literally spent a crap ton of money signing the best possible guards in free agency 2 years ago (because Bryce was god awful against inside pass rush his rookie year) while also extending Moton and having Icky on a rookie deal. Meanwhile, we have a bunch of no-namers (outside of Horn, DB, and maybe Moehrig) on defense because they put all of their money towards the offense. It isn't realistic to have every single position group on offense be the highest paid or elite. Look at the Bengals - they didn't invest in their oline and got Burrow killed because of it. Now, despite having the highest paid WR group, they are losing by like 30+ and struggling to score. This might be one of the biggest Bryce nuthugger threads I have seen since his rookie year.
  13. Literally the only trait Bryce and Brees share is that they are both short. It ends there...
  14. Holy crap that is a lot of throws outside the right hash by Bryce... Haven't paid attention to other passing charts, but I have to imagine if the same happened in those games, then opposing DCs are going to start prioritizing coverage to the right of the center.
  15. It would be nice if we can make it through the 1st quarter without the patented Bryce first 2 drives of the game turnovers that has happened in pretty much every game but the ATL one...
  16. Just switch Jank for KK and I'm on board with these lines. Would like to see Nikishin moved up to Slavin's line as the season progresses (as he actually gets a full season's worth of NHL experience).
  17. Weird time to call Evero a dud after that game. Dude actually made adjustments at the half and took away the open 10-15 yard routes on/between the seams. And Rozeboom played far and away his best game yesterday. As much as we in general would like to see Wallace/Rozeboom get yanked, what other LB are we throwing out there? Evero has used big nickel enough times this year and substitutes Ransom for one of our LBs or down lineman pretty often. No clue why Scott is on the field still (and playing all defensive snaps). Only reason I can guess is because he knows Evero's system and communicates to the rest of the secondary what to do?? No idea - grasping at straws.
  18. I would say doubtful. Big step up from the Dolphins (probably a bottom 5 NFL team without Tyreek) to the Cowboys (probably a middle of the pack NFL team, even with their current injuries). And we all know we always split with Atlanta, no matter how good or bad us or ATL is. And as bad as Dallas' defense is, they are nowhere near as awful as Miami's defense (at least with run defense).
  19. I think the run defense has bordered on great the entire year. If we could stop passes between the hashes, the D could be good
