  1. This will be a story no matter what we want. I personally believe when Tepper talked to both and they laid out their plans for the future and I believe that Wilks mentioned his plan was to retain both Holcomb and Mcadoo, hes a Loyal dude and they helped him be successful this year, but without dramatic change in offensive philosophy it put tepper between a rock and a hard place. Insert Reich who has plans to bring in a bright young offensive mind while he himself was an offensive guy and theres the desired outcome he wanted. I dont think this particular decision was made based on race, it was made on the owners want for an offensive minded coach, and I frankly think he would have moved Wilks direction if Wilks would have been willing to make concessions on his coaching staff which FWIW, he did in Arizona and it caused the raging tire fire that it became, so it became a lose/lose for all involved. This is just my opinion on how things went down.
  2. yea hes a system QB right now, but so was Tom Brady. People forget that he wasn't asked to do poo his first couple years, just manage the game and let the defense and run game control the game. The thing is if you get a system QB and let him develop and learn in game all while still winning, then you absolutely do that.
  3. Olsen is the best thing that Fox has, but I will still say that Romo is tops and I didnt like him at QB, hes just really good in the booth.
  4. I wasnt a pound the table kind of guy for hurts, but I said from the beginning that I thought he could be a pretty good QB in the NFL and it was based partly on the fact that he had the physical tools necessary, but even more so that he had the resilience and leadership that you look for in a QB. In college he was benched in the national championship game, didnt complain, did his job, transferred and finished second in the heisman voting. He was just a born leader that people want to play for and THATS the kind of quality that when combined with physical tools translates in the NFL. now, no way on earth would I have guessed he'd be as good as he is, but still thought he'd be a good NFL qb.
  5. Vicks allowed his opinion, but stepping back and looking at it from Lamars position, he has no money guaranteed, playing on an injury jeopardizes him from collecting a big contract because the ravens have been reluctant to pay him. I think if he had a contract past this year, you'd bet he'd be out there, but because he would have to risk his next contract, he's thinking with his head not his heart. That said, I absolutely would love to see Lamar in panthers colors, especially if we go with wilks as a coach because the threat of him running while playing a power run game would be very good for us and the NFC south in general is not equipped to stop that kind of game.
  6. might as well run, apparently the refs will throw a flag if you even lightly brush herberts Hyman.
  7. I mean, its not out of the realm of possibility now. I will say this, if SOMEHOW Jacksonville comes back, sean payton will be coaching there next year.
  8. Im starting to think the jaguars might not win
  9. I'll eat my crow, I've never been as angry at a player as after that game because if the XP and FG hadn't been missed, the hail mary would have gone down as one of if not the best play of the entire season, but because we lost, its gonna be an afterthought in the grand scheme of things.
  10. Im not saying its what I would want, its what I think will happen. Tepper is a lot of things, but tepper IS patient as seen by sticking with ron and Rhule a year longer than he should have, that tells me what he saw from Wilks will be the kind of stability that he's willing to roll with. To add to that statement, remember he was open to the signing of Eric Reid who people had issues with because of his support for kaepernick, Im guessing he'd be in same boat in regards to supporting a minority candidate. I think Darnold is a guy that will be viewed as a bridge and richardson will be our pick because he possesses all the traits needed to be an elite QB and I have a feeling that during the combine a few teams (us being one) will fall in love with him, and part of one being us will be because I think we hire Brian Johnson who has history with him. Macadoo fits with what I said about wilks and stability, With the instability lately, I think Tepper wants someone to just stop the bleeding and I do think Wilks has some faith in him atleast in some capacity. Everything else seems like things that probably could happen. Again, not exactly the direction I would go, its just the direction that I think we will go.
  11. - Wilks retained as HC - Brian Johnson from Eagles signed as OC - Ben Macadoo kept on staff as QB coach (will help with brian johnson be eased into being an NFL OC for the first time) - Darnold resigned, 2 year, 11-12 mil - Anthony Richardson is the pick at #9, Brian Johnson has a history with him and can help his progression. - Foreman, Bozeman resigned - Shaq extended or cut. We improve slightly from this season with Darnold at the helm most of the season, Richardson gets some run at some point though with darnold having some injuries as he has every year of his career. 9-8/10-7 type season.
  12. to piggyback, I'd say 9ers in the NFC because I'd be happy to see CMC get the ring we'd never be able to get him.
  13. yea, he was doing gods work by helping us lose. Elite level play right there.
  14. Cam Erving, Michael Jordan, Sam Darnold, Josh Norman, Andre Roberts, Matt Ioannidis, Rashard Higgins. Very likely PJ Walker. Possibly Shaq Thompson and JJ Jansen. I know a bunch didn't play today, but these are guys who were on the roster that will not/possibly wont be back next year.
  15. I agree with that, I put I want him back, thats kinda with a stipulation that we go through the full process and If he stands out, keep him, if not, cool. I wont be disappointed whichever way we decide to go coaching wise.
  16. for as good as he looked last week, he looked equally as terrible this week.
  17. Here is a quick list of qbs in the league right now either in range of where we could trade up to, OR just outright pick. Tua - Pick 5 Justin Hebert - Pick 6 Josh Allen - Pick 7 Patrick Mahomes - Pick 10 Justin Fields - Pick 11 Deshaun Watson - Pick 12 Aaron Rodger - Pick 24 Lamar Jackson - Pick 32 Jalen Hurts - mid 2nd round Dak Prescott - Round 4 Only ones really starting (atleast in case of no injury) in the NFL that would be sure fire out of our pick range would be Joe Burrow, Kyler Murray, Trevor Lawrence, and the illustrious Baker Mayfield. I mean, Zach Wilson, Caron Wentz, and Sam Darnold would definitely have been out of our range, so please can we stop with this sky is falling stuff, you can definitely still find a QB at 9, hell Coral might actually be the guy too, but we dont know because he got hurt before we could see. If Baker is proving anything, its proof that we need a coach or atleast an OC that can take a QB and develope them.
  18. I will saying he's every bit as good as any qb we could draft, that said, why not, he atleast showed progress.
  19. The dolphins and firing good coaches, name a more iconic duo?
  20. My solution is no by week to super bowl, next week as normal, following week only the bengals and bills play in a very meaningful game, and on top if that will likely have viewership that would only be topped by the superbowl after what happened yesterday. The event would be something every nfl fan would tune in for. Nfl doesn't want to lose money, but with the attention that would be paid to that game would essentially give the nfl a third championship game (and frankly, I think it would he hire than either afc or nfc champ, the casual train wreck fans would tune in as well). It's heartless, but it would print money and that's the language that the nfl owners underatand.
  21. dude has to be inconsolable. On the play, he could have cut either way and prlly gotten atleast the same amount of yards, but he decided to go at Hamlin in an effort to keep the physicality. Its the kind of play that happens early in a game to set up for "business decisions" later, but had he not done that, the game is still going on. I cant even imagine whats going through his head.
