If AR is the pick, theres gonna be riots here especially after the move to #1. FWIW, I'll be pissed off for a day and then get on board supporting because I want my team to win, but that dude better be some sort of world changing talent.

Frank Reich has NO EXCUSES… playoffs or bust in 3 seasons
Carolina Cajun replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
no, he has 5 games to win 3 superbowls! -
Think about this for a second. IF you told me that in 2023 we'd have a QB from the 2011 draft on our roster and it WOULDNT be Cam Newton, I would have laughed and said no way.

I've been saying that hes a good player. Like I said, I've done a little research and the one thing I've noticed where the dividing line between good/manager QB's and franchise is the 2:1 TD to INT line. The further someone breaks over the 2:1 the closer a QB comes to being a HOF level QB (aside from Eli in modern NFL, its something I generally see). Carr is not a HOF QB, he IS however a franchise QB. He's along the lines of Dak Prescott or Kirk Cousins. These are QBs that YOU CAN win with, and generally speaking will win more than they lose (good ole Raiders managed to fug that up). Carr is a solid/good direction we could go if we dont like the options or what it would take to get an elite qb in the draft, it would allow for us to potentially win quickly.

Matt ryan was 37 last year, Phillip rivers was 39, and everyone knew Wentz sucked. This is a different situation with a guy who has some tread and longevity left in him by modern nfl standards.

If I remember correctly he and Trevor Lawrence were 1A/1B going into the offseason after the national championship. I think he had some stuff that threw off some teams at the combine and his pro days, also remember that some teams get enamored with random poo during the draft process (IE Zach Wilson and Sam Darnold, Make a few throws at pro day and you're gold).

Im so tired of hearing and seeing this every single year. It seems like in every draft I hear "these QBs are trash but next year all the good QBs will be there". In fairness, this isnt a slight just against you, A bunch of people do it, Im just tired of the take because we seemingly continuously put off taking a QB so we can get our guy next year, but next year never comes. At this point, Im ready to just bite the bullet and take a shot.

Superbowl rings by current coaches
Carolina Cajun replied to panther4life's topic in Carolina Panthers
Not to be that guy, but Duce won his super bowl as a player while playing for the steelers. I knew somethin was off because before 2017 the eagles hadnt won a title in like a billion years. -
Im fine goin get him, hes good and still in prime QB age range. He's had a poo situation with the raiders. When I look to elite QBs I look for the 2:1 ratio (2 tds for 1 INT) and he does that. Lets get him and invest in the rest with our draft picks.

Quarterbacks win championships
Carolina Cajun replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
ehh, it did decide the game though, it made it impossible for the eagles to win. now you're right, chiefs would have kicked the FG, taken a 3pt lead and the defense very well could have shut the eagles down, but that was the ending stripped from every single non-biased fan by a window licking moron. -
fug the NFL.

wow...I doubted it, Im sorry the NFL is rigged. That was the most absurd fuging call, fuging wow.

having Haynes and Burns on the field simultaneously will give a huge boost to our pass rush.

Legendary Panthers QB at the pro bowl
Carolina Cajun replied to Sean Payton's Vicodin's topic in Carolina Panthers
I say take these pro bowlers, tie this all together with the combine and show where these all pro athletes measure to the young pups. Atleast that would be more exciting than whatever the pro bowl is now. -
Fwiw, I compare hurts to him since he's the only other qb I've seen successfully run power from the qb position.

The "running QB" has a huge opportunity this Super Bowl
Carolina Cajun replied to GOAT's topic in Carolina Panthers
I've been saying that I enjoy watching Hurts because its so reminiscent of Cam. Lamar is a shifty runner, but Hurts is a power runner, and like Cam, he actually can run power, thats hugely useful from the QB position. -
Man, If I knew we'd be trading SF the QB they'd use in the NFC championship game, I'd have asked for more draft capital.

This is starting to get nasty with coach wilks.
Carolina Cajun replied to ncguy2184's topic in Carolina Panthers
This will be a story no matter what we want. I personally believe when Tepper talked to both and they laid out their plans for the future and I believe that Wilks mentioned his plan was to retain both Holcomb and Mcadoo, hes a Loyal dude and they helped him be successful this year, but without dramatic change in offensive philosophy it put tepper between a rock and a hard place. Insert Reich who has plans to bring in a bright young offensive mind while he himself was an offensive guy and theres the desired outcome he wanted. I dont think this particular decision was made based on race, it was made on the owners want for an offensive minded coach, and I frankly think he would have moved Wilks direction if Wilks would have been willing to make concessions on his coaching staff which FWIW, he did in Arizona and it caused the raging tire fire that it became, so it became a lose/lose for all involved. This is just my opinion on how things went down. -
Agent 89 on Brock Purdy and 1st Round QBs
Carolina Cajun replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
yea hes a system QB right now, but so was Tom Brady. People forget that he wasn't asked to do poo his first couple years, just manage the game and let the defense and run game control the game. The thing is if you get a system QB and let him develop and learn in game all while still winning, then you absolutely do that. -
Olsen is the best thing that Fox has, but I will still say that Romo is tops and I didnt like him at QB, hes just really good in the booth.

Watching Jalen Hurts sort of hurts.....
Carolina Cajun replied to YourLastThought's topic in Carolina Panthers
I wasnt a pound the table kind of guy for hurts, but I said from the beginning that I thought he could be a pretty good QB in the NFL and it was based partly on the fact that he had the physical tools necessary, but even more so that he had the resilience and leadership that you look for in a QB. In college he was benched in the national championship game, didnt complain, did his job, transferred and finished second in the heisman voting. He was just a born leader that people want to play for and THATS the kind of quality that when combined with physical tools translates in the NFL. now, no way on earth would I have guessed he'd be as good as he is, but still thought he'd be a good NFL qb.
