That's all very nice. Thanks for sharing. -

There is depth, I'll agree with that statement. I don't think I'd call you cynical at all. Far from it. -
Win close, 1 score games so the national narrative will be along the lines of worst 10-7 team ever.

Offensive support cast ranked 31st in the league

That's what makes for discussion this time of year. I never said there was no ability. Not once. This is also the time of year when the wild dreams about how great the team will be in a few months will start in earnest. Let's get out schedules and have us "within all reason" 7-1 at the halfway point, because it's all winnable games, right? It's all speculation. Your opinion differs from mine. Noted. -

Best episode so far. All the little tidbits of info make it very a compelling watch. -

Here's my worry, and it ties in a little with what you've mentioned. I think the oline may very well be the strength of the offense, but it may not have the impact we expect. The wr group is not scaring anyone, and Sanders will not have the luxury of playing alongside the Eagles weapons. So, can the passing game keep defenses out of stacking the box? If those receivers aren't getting open or not making plays, the quality of the oline will be minimized. There's a whole bunch of hope and what ifs this year, but I think that's normal for a transition. -
It's always been like that since the corporate naming thing came into being. I think the team has insisted The Mile High name stays, regardless of any name deal. It's more common with some of the stadiums that have character and history, Lambeau, Soldier, Arrowhead.

This team is cursed. If we had even been in the position to draft Wemby, he would've been the sure-fire reincarnation of Shawn Bradley. After a lifetime of abuse and disappointment from this organization, what more could you expect out of fans?

Yeah, there is a whole bunch of bad in that list. Petrino quitting in mid-season with what was essentially a form letter counts for something.

Jason McCourty: Panthers made NFL's biggest offseason move
UnluckyforSome replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
Historically, this kind of praise has often been premature, or never fully realized. They haven't even played a snap yet. As a franchise, we have rarely been able to meet the moment. It would be such a nice change if that was to no longer be the case. -
Praise for one of the free agent signings
UnluckyforSome replied to jayboogieman's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm sure so. Just to clarify, I think he was a solid pickup. He was well thought of in NO, which in turn creates a little sour grapes when a player heads off to a rival. I kind of see talk such as that as being positive, more so than anything else. -

Saintsreport was sad to see him go, but happy to see we overpaid for him in their view. -
Potential $1.2B Panthers stadium renovation discussion
UnluckyforSome replied to Lame Duck's topic in Carolina Panthers
New stadium sometimes means Superbowl. New domed stadium always means Superbowl. I would also think a new facility would put them in line to host the draft. I am not a NC resident so my opinion doesn't mean anything though. -
We embarrassed them in the playoffs at their place. When their new stadium opened, Stewart ran all over them in a romp. Everyone remembers that Tampa MNF game, but honestly, that Giants game was just as much of a showcase.
-
It's all kind of relative. I mean record-wise, we have won 1 time vs the Steelers, and that was damn near 30 years ago. 1-7. Not to mention their fans fill up the stadium since some of ours have plenty of reason to sell those tickets to highest bidder. Throw Cam's shoulder into that mix too.

If the Aints didn't want Dalton, why Should we ?

He's a vet with a mentoring job. Saints brought him in to compete for starter with Winston. -
They have been oddly built for a while now. They are more than just a qb away, but that kind of fits with how they've gone about roster construction. There's been a bunch spent on oline with diminishing returns. They have a couple of pieces on defense, but have failed to build around them. They continue to draft skill players highly, as if they are 1 superstar away. It's all very curious, and I don't get the logic, but I'm ok with it since it's the Falcons.

I don't care too awfully much about being named offseason or preseason champs

When Gruden was in Tampa, it was more of a rivalry. They had their Superbowl, and plenty of players that enjoyed talking, and for the most part could back it up. When the NFC South was formed, they said they were disrespected by being put in the NASCAR division with old NFC West losers. The defense was a real terror for a good while. Honestly though, other than the Brady blip, and their heyday early on, they've not really been much of a factor in the division.

Some additional perspective. Don't get me wrong. I hate 31 other teams. But number 32 is the Falcons. Panthers all-time vs Falcons...21-35 Panthers all-time vs Saints...27-29 Panthers all-time vs Bucs...25-20 Included in that record is the 12-10 mark at their place.
-
Yeah, you're not going to convince me otherwise. Go watch Vick levitating for a td at the end of the game while Dan Morgan grabs at his dust outline. Or Crumpler absolutely abuse our defense to win the game here in their Petrino year. But other opinions are fine and dandy to have, so it's good.

I prefer the game we won with DeAngelo lining up in wildcat for the entire game almost. There have been some Panther moments, but not many. Pretty sure Jake blew out his elbow against them as well. There's been more bad than good there. New Orleans sent Cam a broom. Sapp said Jenkins needed some pineapple in his diet. Those things and a few others just don't compare in the long run.

It's the Falcons. It's always been the Falcons. Those other teams come and go. No Panther fan should ever forget the 71-0 beat down we took from that team with Vick. Get the fug off our field with Ryan. Matt poopypants fuging Ryan. https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-2002-nov-25-sp-atlanta25-story.html
