Now that Rhule has been let go: Time to Suck Proud for Stroud
45catfan replied to Varking's topic in Carolina Panthers
All big schools should really have the QB position scrutinized because of the talent around him. However, due to the transfer portal and NIL the "----school sucks producing QBs" notion is going be be irrelevant soon, very soon. Why? Few will be there from Freshman to Senior year and will not be a pure product of "x" school. It's basically free agency at the college level now. Any QB that has makings/aspirations of a NFL QB will jump top a bigger, more pro-ready system/program. It's already happening and we are just at the threshold of this new frontier. The biggest take away going forward is not where the guy ends up for his last season or two, but how he looked before transferring. In year's past, especially going back several year's prior, guys rarely transferred (compared to the rate now.) People really didn't dig into the 'old' tape as is was largely inconsequential. Now, as guys hop from program to program, seeing how they performed in the past before landing on these 'all-star' rosters is going to (or at lest SHOULD) be a major measuring stick. -
Trying to stay awake for a Panthers game.

Tepper is going to sell the lack of interest as the process being 'methodical.' Probablay some BS about 'taking his time and leaving no stone unturned' when in reality he's just getting little interest. Candidates are simply parlaying Tepper's interviews as leverage for the jobs/money they really want.

Sure, I might as well adopt a new team.

McCarthy is a "49ers" type of guy. He needs the right system and a solid team around him to be successful. Drop him on the Panthers roster and he will suck. I have no glimmer of hope for Young. He's not cut from NFL cloth. Will he be better? Sure, but will he be the franchise QB we need him to be? Nope, not even close. While I got your attention, let's revisit something--remember this? I swear you and I could have put this damn roster together better than Fitterer. Rashee Rice tore it up last night and guess who I wanted over Mingo? Yup, you guessed it. Fug, you would think this is rocket science, but it's not.
-
He was looking at the 3rd round. It's a deep draft. Next year will not be as top heavy. Smart move by him.
-
Wonderful year not to have a first round pick. Fug you Fitterer and Tepper!

How 'bout them Cowboys!!!! Woooooooo....
-
McCarthy should be there at #33, would take him? Corum is too small and has an injury history, I'll pass on him.
-
I've said it once and I've said numerous times...I HATED the move up to #1 and thought we picked the wrong guy when we did. If I didn't know any better I would think Tepper was intentionally sabotaging this organization because every move he makes is a colossal blunder.
-
Hmmm....something to be said about drafting a QB and letting him sit behind a veteran signal caller. Fug we're dumb.
-
Ward pulled out of the draft and transferring to Miami. He never hired an agent, so he's able to do this.

Who is falling for the Peacock Wildcard bullshitt
45catfan replied to Jmac's topic in Carolina Panthers
I will not subscribe to Prime or Peacock to watch a football game. Even if it means missing a Panthers game in the future, no dice. -
Rashee Rice was a WR I wanted to draft and we got Mingo. Fitterer sucked at college scouting. Mingo was WAY down my WR draft wish list.
-
I am higher on Ewers than McCarthy. McCarthy had everything a QB could ever need a Michigan: WRs, RBs and a stellar OL. I don't see him as a QB that can put an inferior offense on his back and carry them in the NFL.
-
As I see it, one more deeper for 2025 because there's no way Tepper will sign off on a QB at #33 in April.

Breaking, Ian Rapoport: Fitterer Fired
45catfan replied to NJPanthers12's topic in Carolina Panthers
Or we don't sign/tag Burns and spend wisely in the FA market. If our new GM wraps that much money up into two better than average, but not elite players, he sucks at his job. We aren't tied to any mega deals and that is not necessarily a bad thing considering we are a 2 win team. You say you understand, but act like we are different that everyone else. Pssst, nobody else has gone through 2024 FA either. So I guess every team is fake cap rich right now, even the teams that are actually cap poor currently. -
I swear it looks like 'bring your kid to work day' in that pic.
-
Second round pick, middle one at that, #48 overall. These two guys should not be in the same sentence.
-
That one is on my radar too, but if it didn't happen today, it's probably not going to happen.

With Panthers cleaning house how safe is Bryce
45catfan replied to Frank9999's topic in Carolina Panthers
A legit one? Not at all. The rouse this camp gave that away. Bryce took a couple days of first team reps and managed to replace Dalton as QB1? Lol, right! -
One less opening. We may just be looking at the current 5 vacancies. If so, that's fewer that most years. I would still keep an eye on Belichick. There's not an urgency to move for Kraft even if that's in the cards.

You don't understand how this works and it shows. NO TEAM has a full roster signed next year at this point, or the year after or the year after that. Yes, we have dead money on the books, but so DOES EVERY OTHER TEAM. The 2024 roster is what it is at the top and again, other teams have under-performing players on the books too. Let me spell this out to you, good teams are generally cap poor because they have top players to pay. Should be we higher? Somewhat, but just because we are a 2 win team doesn't mean we should have the top cap space either. it's not a direct correlation.
