I believe he originally started at guard for us.

Yeah I was thinking about that earlier, Kamara and CMC is pretty much a wash at this point. We definitely have the better WR corps and I'd venture to even say TEs bc of Tremble's potential. They have the better OL as of today, but I'm pretty sure we're laying out to him the plan of how we'll fix that this offseason with good pieces already in place like Moton and BC, and possibly Brown.

Wtf? Wow.

And also, again, fug MICHAEL THOMAS. Dude hasn't played in like 2 years. He and Watson may share an agent, but fug him and the Aint's. Thomas hasn't played in like 2 years. Some of their best players on defense are aging out, they are in cap hell, Kamara is in legal trouble, and they just promoted a fuging dud to be their HC with a defensive background. If he chooses them, it will strictly be due to ownership and a proven, winning organizational model. That's it.

Yeah, although I have, by default, a defeatist mindset when it comes to our team, I just can't go there yet... because as others have begun lamenting, if we lost out on him too, AGAIN, and lost out to a division rival to boot, I don't know that my fan mindset or morale can get much lower. That will be absolutely rock bottom, and a horrible omen for Tepper and our team moving forward. So, I'm gonna need something official.

Was this referring to us, or in general?

Personally, I would find it awesome if they did; as dysfunctional as it seems, if Watson came in, asked them to can Rhule, and we immediately hire Flores from Pittsburgh. Now logistically, I have no idea how that would work considering all of the new hires in the staff, and I can't imagine a guy coming into that situation, retaining the new hires for a year until he can pick his own staff. But, honestly, at this point, idgaf.

I actually read elsewhere something similar, that if we whiff on Watson, a lot of other teams who are QB desperate with better situations and more assets are going to start making moves to shore up their situations. Some trading up, others trading with teams for the current guys still on the block, and when reading it, all I could think was, "we are going to be left out in the cold."

Yup. And while I wasn't 100% comfortable with some of the packages we were hearing, ultimately I still wanted to get it done. The truth is, you can't win without a QB. Another truth is, once you have a QB its much easier to fill in the pieces around them then having to find one in the first place. If we whiff on Watson and New Orleans gets him, we have essentially locked ourselves into the NFCS basement for the next 10 years. And if that happens, I suspect it will mostly be because we kept Rhule in place and Watson chooses them strictly because of that and that alone.

Imagine being so fuging dysfunctional of a franchise where a once in a lifetime deal for a player falls through because you kept a sorry ass head coach so the player you were trading for picks a team with what is essentially a fuging interim over the one you kept employed. I've found myself saying this following statement a lot over the last 27 years or so, but here it goes again: "Only the Carolina Panthers"

I was just thinking earlier about the relationship aspect as well and have to think, as well as hope, that that aspect may keep us from getting taken to the cleaners in this deal. Why? I was thinking back to Fitt's presser last season after we traded for Gilmore. He mentioned how it came about was that they expressed interest and happened to have a FO guy here who had worked for years with NE. I believe it was Pat Stewart. Well, Caserio (sp?), now the GM in Houston, would've also worked with Stewart. So, I have to think we have a better "in" there than other teams do. I hope that works in our favor as it did in the deal for Gilmore... and our FO seems to rely on relationships quite a bit.

Now that tweet i call BS on. I still think NO is the better run franchise so I don't have much hope for us... but, Michael Thomas factoring into this? LMFAO. The Michael Thomas that they've had a tenuous relationship with for the last 3 years or so? The Michael Thomas who has barely played for the last two years? GTFOH. And pair that garbage with the fact that the only thing keeping them afloat the last 10+ years in Sean Payton, just stepped away from the franchise. Why tf would anyone want to go there? That reeks of desperation fluff purposely leaked by NO to try to ramp up our offer because they feel inadequate.
