That's why I don't want us to trade a haul for any QB and guarantee them a big contract. If anything goes wrong with that player, your team is completely screwed for years. We could be saying the same thing about the Browns in a couple months.

Hurts has great intangibles and seems to have a good coaching/team situation. I was hoping he would be available in the late rounds for us, but the Eagles took him earlier than most had expected.

Richardson has a ton of physical talent but he’s a long way from being a franchise QB in the NFL. It’s not impossible that he makes that leap, but I wouldn’t bet on it happening with this Panthers organization unfortunately.

I agree that he wouldn’t have developed anywhere but I still don’t think you can take a great athlete, surround them with talent, and they will turn into an MVP level QB. It’s logically comparable to drafting a QB in the 6th round because Tom Brady.

Josh Allen is the exception, not the rule. I wouldn’t bet on that repeating itself. At least not with a 1st round pick.
