  1. The Eagles and Ravens aren't really 80s football though.
  2. I agree. Foles is just funny because he did it during the playoffs.
  3. I think football is especially tough because it’s difficult to isolate performance from the context of their teammates, opponents, coaching, etc. Baseball is the most individual team sport, and everyone has one job to score. Hit the ball. But they still can’t figure out who’s gonna be able to hit major league pitchers and who isn’t.
  4. At best, the draft is an educated guess on a coin flip. For all the scouting and analytics we have now, the hit rate on prospects hasn't gotten any better. Some guys make the jump and some don't.
  5. I think Ottawa and Edmonton force game 7. Although I feel stronger about Toronto failing than I do about Edmonton getting it done again.
  6. Alright guys how many game 7's are we gonna get? All 4 series tonight could possibly do it. Ottawa and Edmonton are hot. Colorado's gonna be tough to eliminate at home too.
  7. I need Caps and Panthers to win for my bet. So at least one of those won’t happen.
  8. Even though he's been injured the last 2 seasons, he was still a starter for 8 years. He had a pretty productive career for a guy that never made any pro bowls. I wouldn't say his career was cut short.
  9. Alright this could get ugly for Montreal now.
  10. Caps looking sloppy early on tonight. Montreal hasn't made them pay yet.
  11. XL could easily be the last dog at the bowl for WR production next year. That could leave him around 200-300 yards which would be disastrous.
  12. Damn Ghost had a hell of a series then huh?
  13. I mean imagine this is your dad. Playing 2 professional sports and strong arming MLB and NFL teams. He was a superhero. What other kind of perspective can he offer? This is a great watch btw.
  14. The point is that evaluating his season is more nuanced than reaching a statistical milestone. One year ago I wouldn't have necessarily been upset with ~50 catches/500 yards/4 TDs for XL. But in context, he underperformed given the volume of snaps and targets. And we all saw his issue with alligator arms. The context is what matters. Does he become the #1 target? Does overall offensive production increase or stay the same? Are there reasons for that outside his control ie injuries to other positions, regression by teammates, etc.
  15. What if he gets 800 yards and 10 TDs? Is that a bad year?
  16. The stuff online seems to all mention that he's been disappointing in pass coverage. His PFF grades look good, but his pass rating allowed when targeted last year was 109.6. That seems kinda high. Something going on there. Even Josey Jewell's was 92.3, and I thought he was bad in coverage.
  17. The NFL should have someone prank call the son and offer him an internship as part of an NFL front office.
  18. Yea I have it. When it flares it can be very severe. I had an extended hospitalization a couple years ago and it took a while to recover. Can’t imagine trying to deal with that as a pro athlete. It’s hard enough as a desk jockey.
  19. Watching Pesce wish everyone luck, it seems like he’ll be back in a Canes uniform at some point.
