  1. They play QB in the NFL.....other than that not so sure.
  2. I am hoping Raiders....it would likely include giving up the first round pick this year which is one less QB needy team ahead of us.
  3. You are certainly welcome to your opinion - but for a lower price I am good with him for a few years.
  4. I still think the best move for us given our needs, draft spots, money available, and available FA's is this: Re-sign Bozeman & Foreman Sign preferably Carr to a 3-yr deal.....or Jimmy G to a 1-2 yr....and Darnold to a 2-yr deal @$7-8M. Darnold is the clear backup to protect injury worries, Corral sits and learns. This QB class doesn't appear to have enough potential for a #9 pick and we can't really afford to give away much more to move up very far. So unless Stroud falls into our lap at 9 I take a chance with a Vet and use the 9 pick elsewhere Sign Gesicki, Van der Esch, Dean, Bates, David Long.....get at least 2 of those as massive upgrades. My #1 desire past QB in FA is Long. The MLB is the QB of the defense and we have never been the same since LUKE....we have to get that squared up Use our picks to fill the gaps - since we have QB solved take one of the top WR's or Edge rushers or DL with #9. 2nd rounders go to a TE, MLB, CB, S, OL depending on availability and what we got in FA. I could see us getting Mayer, Sewell, Hargrove, Carter II, Ricks.....lots of solid talent in what we need in the 2nd round this year. I'd rather sure up QB in a Vet instead of trading 2nd round picks to move up I'm not saying all of this is possible....just listing a strategy and a group of possible fits
  5. He didn't compare him to Willis statistically - he compared the level of over-hype without statistical backup. Same could be compared to Zach Wilson....Trey Lance....over-hyped draft bait that rarely works out but teams bite on. Personally I agree AR is a HARD pass at #9......RD 2 or 3 maybe....

  7. Cam was not a great QB - never - not even in 2015. I get so tired of seeing Carolina fans exaggerate his performance and give him excuses. In absolutely NO WAY did Cam carry this team to the Superbowl in 2015. LUKE KUECHLY carried this team with our defense. We had the easiest schedule in the league - our defense was 1st in TO's and our offense was 2nd in the league in starting field position. The ONLY stat that was exceptional for Cam that year as a QB was total TD's....because he had the shortest fields against the worst teams in the league! His passing stats were still ALL 8th or worse in the league....literally the defense carried us and the ONLY reason he won MVP is because we were 15-1. He easily has the worst stats of an MVP in the last 20 years. I don't ever want Cam part 2....ever....in no season of his career would I have chosen him as our QB over the others if we could choose. Andrew Luck staying in college screwed us for a decade.
  8. I'd re-sign Sam either way - he has shown to be a solid backup QB. Let Corral develop and start Sam if we can't get a top 2-3 QB or sign a FA.
  9. "Lawrence was trash before Pederson" This is a ridiculous comment. Trevor has never been trash - not even close. He is as elite of a QB prospect as most of us will ever see. Pederson didn't develop him much - he developed because his OLine was improved, he had a consistent top 10 RB, a legitimate top 25WR, an actual starting TE, and incredibly better defensive play to keep him in games. Pederson had a big influence on the culture and personnel, but he didn't develop w guy like Richardson into 2022 Trevor....he took one of the best QB prospects in decades and fixed everything around him - only probably 10% of Trevor's personal development was Pederson. Richardson is LIGHT YEARS behind Trevor as a prospect - the guy looked bad in big games, had 1 year as a starter, and has a LONG way to go in his passing skills. He is the prototypical over-hyped running QB that everyone thinks will finally be THE ONLY running QB to have great success in the NFL. He is not a 1st rd pick right now....no coach will develop him in the next few years if at all. Lamar Jackson was a much better prospect and he was 32nd overall - granted that is a bit low, but he wasn't a top 10 prospect at the time - he is by far the exception not the rule.
  10. HC - as much as I like the idea of Sean Payton he is just too expensive for a franchise like us right now. We can't afford the pick(s) we would lose. One of these top OC's I could see or even Wilks I am good. I am not as confident in any of them particularly QB - 100% NO to Anthony Richardson - I truly don't get the hype at all. I understand the potential but he has shown nothing but flashes, was bad against good teams, and has only 1 year as a starter. Even if he is good it will be a few years away and we don't have anyone to teach him. Yes I've seen highlights and games...bottom line he is currently an inaccurate, running QB - that doesn't win Superbowls - maybe some day but not now and never has. Darnold absolutely HAS NOT earned a 2-yr starter contract. Not sure how you could watch that NO game and say he hasn't been bad this year. He managed games - that is all. I am good with signing his as a backup only for a much lower contract. The guy finsihed the season with a Comp % well below 60% and INT % above 2.0. His 5th year in the league he is no better than his rookie year. QB again - my reasonable dream would be to sign Derek Carr after he is cut. He is still a very good QB, very good leader, and should be a very good mentor to a young QB like Corral or anyone else we draft later. As long as his contract reflects a guy who got cut and is 32-yr old this year we could afford it. Draft - there is no way we can afford the trade up for Stroud or Young - young QB are never guaranteed and we are multiple players away from a SB without enough FA to fill traded picks. I have no confidence in the next 2 QB's as worth #9 so I would go Quinton Johnston or Jordan Addison or a top LB or EDGE depending on what is there. I would take Meyer (if he dropped ALOT) or a top TE or EDGE with the 2nd pick - or a good CB if possible there. FA - Bozeman I agree is a must and I would love to resign Foreman - now that is a guy who earned a contract. But we desperately need a MLB and CB's. Hopefully we find some solid upgrades accross some other areas too Marvin Jones? 33-yr old.....wasn't very good with Trevor? HECK NO. And Chark is just OK....more of a 3rd WR IMO and not much of an upgrade over TMJ. And also they are expensive - we need money elsewhere badly
  11. Did you read the quote I was replying to? He described Fields as an elite runner who struggles with health and throwing the ball. That is exactly who Richardson looks like at the moment....only he is even worse at the college level than Fields, so will be worse in the pros
  12. 100% agree - and this is exactly who Anthony Richardson is not worth a 1st round pick. His numbers in college are much worse than Fields
  13. People - cmon - how many times are y'all gonna keep saying "we need to upgrade our TE" - "get taller receivers" - that is just trying to fix symptoms of the real problem. You don't win Superbowls with TE's and WR's....you win them with Defense, OLine, and QB play....period. We haven't had a MLB defensive captain since Luke. We haven't had a good OLine since 2011. We haven't had a consistent, top tier QB dang near ever. We had Steve Smith, Greg Olsen, DJ Moore, CMC and never consistently saw the playoffs...Give me a top 10 QB, top 10 OLine, or a top 10 MLB or stop making excuses....we have spent the last 12 years focused on the wrong things. Go look at the teams who are consistently in the playoffs and they all have at least 2 of those 3 things.
  14. There is zero chance Atlanta is interested in this - he is literally their #1 target and it isn't close...
  15. Hilarious hypocrisy - RA tweets controversial stuff all year, talks crap about maybe Darnold and definitely Baker - then tries to backpedal - and shockingly has no chemistry with the man. Then shows his but on national TV and gets thrown off the field. Then gets mad cause JT says a perfectly reasonable statement about his lack of maturity? Get outta here...what a child.....
  16. 6th & 7th for Robbie - good deal......the fact they are in 2024 and 2025 really sucks. We need picks now....I hope they just use them in a package for 2023 prospects if they are worth it.
  17. LOL Yeah I know that one - I meant to the ratings we can give on the thread itself.
  18. They need to add a Facepalm emoji to our options...
  19. Although I agree they got us into the situation with an overpaid Darnold, the QB room was one of the worst in the NFL before they got here. They took a shot with Darnold - a little too expensive, but a reasonable shot to take given their options. They didn't make a mistake in the 2021 draft ( could get proven wrong but not yet - Fields & Mac aren't the answer). They didn't make a mistake in the 2022 draft. Their free agent moves have pretty much all been very good. I do believe it is mostly Fitt, so I'm all for Rhule taking blame, but truthfully Rhule walked into a crapshow and Fitt has done about as well as anyone could given what he has had to work with. Getting Rhule out is fine but I love Fitt so far...no issue with him acting like he isn't at fault.
  20. Because he was projected as the top QB in this class and First Round talent - until he twisted his ankle. His stats and film in a very good conference show his potential and his personal maturity impresses people. I don't think I have seen anyone who thinks he is a HOFer but top 10 potential is there. If he is a consistent top 10 QB he would be the best QB we have ever had.
  21. I would expect Darnold sits all year and walks in FA in the offseason since we likely won't get a trade for him. With Corral there no reason to keep him. Plus if Baker plays well we are set - if he sucks we have a high draft pick and grab a rookie QB.....either way Darnold is done if he doesn't start
  22. This franchise has a rich history of horrendous drafting - bad trades, bad picks, bad luck. We have about as many busted picks as Duke has busted players over the last 18 years. The consistency of "bad" makes this year look worse even if it could make alot of sense. I appreciate the explanation - makes sense if it works out.
  23. Worst case scenario we saved money to pay other guys - we saved picks by not wasting them on QB's in trade or the draft - and we have a high pick in the 2023 draft with a shot at a true, young, Franchise QB. No reason to stress - keep building - keep pounding!
  24. I am not a fan of promoting college coaches directly into Pro HC roles - unless they have some seriously high-performing results for about a decade - and even then it is rare that it works. But I do think the first female HC in the NBA could easily be her - she has done an incredible job so far. In the pros it is so much more about building and sustaining a team that plays well - which she seems to be very strong with. Most importantly I would ONLY consider promoting directly into HC like this with an already successful franchise also. This team isn't a consistent winner yet...that is way too much pressure for pretty much anyone.
  25. I know where he was Saturday - in Greenville, SC signing autographs and taking pictures with fans....said he was ready to go and that Tommy Tremble was gonna have a huge year. I will immediately top load all my Tremble rookie cards now...
