  1. Tet temporarily down with sore hamstring https://sports.yahoo.com/article/panthers-temporarily-shut-down-wr-182953845.html?guccounter=1&guce_referrer=aHR0cHM6Ly93d3cuZ29vZ2xlLmNvbS8&guce_referrer_sig=AQAAAIAgVyeojOIlqIMD5fHgUWRY2qKDXg9TQzp1H-KGPkUK_nc6IJdpPLc7GGZH_FKGmQUvnZngFvaFRB1Z1sdM4nnVYtQH_bX2IXTKOvHpF5a5X7MyWKIY4TbfgPnOuSkU_Ly18FgpvANRv1p7Rd5oYWb2TINenl4SNaVZ90mN6v3h
  2. Coming in late to this so probably already been said, but this is exactly the kind of bait you CANNOT take during the first 3 years of a rebuild. What good is tying up $30+M in an almost 32-yr old when you are at least 1-2 years away from contending? Would a 17.5 sack DE be great to watch? YES! Would he decline by the time we are competing? YES! Gotta pass.
  3. I've only been here for 5 years, so I don't know what the "Good old days" looked like. But I rarely post on here anymore because I either get personally insulted or talked to like I'm an idiot for my opinion. I just assumed this was like the rest of the internet where cowards vent their frustrations with life on strangers to make them feel better. I originally came here looking for discussion about our team with other fans - but rarely have I been able to have a reasonable conversation without it descending into childishness. Frankly some of the Mods are the ones who do it worst - based on the responses to this thread seems like this site might need an enema. I do appreciate the original poster for putting this up - the site probably won't get better without someone standing up for it.
  4. The definition says "Passer rating on passes when targeted".....what else would that mean?
  5. The league high was 14.1% - Legette was at 8.3% with 7 drops. Also an interesting stat is that the QB Passer rating when throwing to XL was 86.3 which made XL 139th in the league when targeted, meaning 138 other guys had easier catches than he did. Here are some notable WR's with higher drops % - Jeudy, Jayden Reed, Jaylen Waddle, Romeo Doubs, Aiyuk. Or some guys within 1% just below - Tank Dell, Deebo, Sterling Shepard. Jayden Reed had a QB passer of 137, one of the best in the league, while dropping 12%. Are these guys also a problem? Would you give them the same post? NONE of them were rookies by the way.... Context ALWAYS matters. Cherry picking 1 single stats NEVER tells the whole story. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2024/receiving_advanced.htm
  6. I see this as Renfrow for 3-4 years potentially. Coker I wanna keep though as the #3 X
  7. I have seen a few reports saying Horn's speed is a difference maker in the passing game as something we really do not have - a field stretching talent probably in the slot that opens up plays that no one else can unlock for us. That makes him much more valuable than Moore, since DM is good as a #6 receiver but not great at anything. Also saw some guys saying Horn has been very difficult to cover in TC all around, plus is possibly huge in ST. I still predict if we carry 6 WR's he is locked and DM is out.
  8. I agree with y'all on CMC - love him but over LT(2)? Not sure I can agree with that....LT was a beast But honestly they focused way too much on Peak > Career. Priest Holmes had more TD's than Henry in a 3-yr span but not yardage. And Holmes ONLY had those 3 elite years - Henry has had 4 (5 if you count 2021 before the injury) and his 2nd best was at 30-yr old. Can't get onboard with the RB list man.
  9. I love Smitty, favorite Panther ever, but this is a tough position for the last 25 years. I don't think he is too far off the list but it would be tough to pick him over any of these guys without bias involved.
  10. Me too! I think he will - I love that we got Princely too so they have genuine comradery and push each other. And if they struggle we have Wonnum and Pat Jones who are consistent, effective starter-caliber right there.
  11. The 2nd round picks of this team are nothing but a death sentence for your career! Seems like after Foster we have like a 10% success rate with 2nd rounders.
  12. When did 8 become alot? Especially when 4 were in 1 game against a High School team where the DB's kept falling down? He is a JAG
  13. And gives up when the game isn't going great - and went to the combine and told them to watch his film, he didn't need to show anything. That is all a hard pass for me even in the 2nd round. Compare that to the appreciation and humble way Coker & Legette approach everything. Swagger is one thing, but that screams diva immaturity - don't see that working with Bryce/Canales
  14. After watching Smitty89's breakdown of Tet I have little to no interest. He was obviously not very impressed.
  15. Gotta know what you have though - we aren't as desperate as years past to take a bad deal. I think if we drive hard we should get at least an even trade, but I expect it to be in our favor primarily since it the 8th pick. Top 10 should be treated as a higher value - especially depending on who is there. If Sanders is there and a QB needy team is calling you run that bill up like the Bears did to us! "Oh hello Steelers - 8th overall? Oh yes we would love to trade, but it will cost you Pickens and your next 2 years of 2nds!" (yeah right)
  16. Sorry for flooding - that said I would be good to trade back for 18, 50, 85 - all day long.
  17. The trade up is too expensive - no way for 2X 2nd rounders. The trade down is light - trading down we should get the advantage. Moving 8 to 18 is worth 500 points. That should be pick 50 and pick 100 (high 4th) to break even. Since they are moving up to the top 10 we should get more value, more like a 2nd and low 3rd (85-95). Also pick 172 is the 6th round, not 5th - the original post has a typo.
  18. Read closer - this year and next year 2nd rounder. Too expensive.
  19. I would like to go on record that a few co-workers and I met with him a few times over the last 9 months and planted this seed. Nice to see that it may have worked - he would be a nice, inexpensive AT replacement eventually.
  20. We signed Dan Chisena - we are set at WR now
  21. Here is my order in terms of positions of need going forward: OLB/EDGE, S, RB, WR, DT, LB, CB, TE I have no problem calling Tremble or Sanders TE1 - mid, but both were TE1 caliber. I also have more faith in the development of our WR's than many here, but still have no issue putting it higher need. I very much don't consider Clowney a starting OLB anymore - and he proved it last year. His numbers and his pay are on par with Jones - so same same. We desperately need to find starters at OLB and S - our last 2 starting openings. I expect our first 2 picks to be some combination of OLB and S - but I could see us taking BPA for DT. I don't think WR or TE in the first round is the best idea (especially WR this year given the prospects). If we are taking a WR I would rather see us trade back into RD1 for Burden or Tet since we have so much draft capitol. RB in the 3rd round is also very tempting to me....Judkins, Henderson, Giddens, Skattebo - love em all in the 3rd. I don't see any downside drafting a RB there. If he's great, great - we can always trade a guy if we have too many in a year. And if he sucks we are good too cause RB's are always available in FA and are fairly cheap these days...it is just a backup at this point.
  22. 6'4", 26yr old, 7 sacks last year in a rotational role.....I'm am very good with this.
  23. I love the Idea of getting a top 10 WR, but honestly do you guys see DK as that? In his 6 years in the NFL he ranks on average 21st in yards, 24th in Y/R, and 12th in TDs. I am seriously asking cause I never viewed him as being a top 10 WR so I certainly wouldn't wanna make the deal Pit just made. I know we are desperate for a #1 WR but this isn't the move.
