Trading a productive locker room leader who wants to be here for a guy who is currently a malcontent in Dallas sounds like a recipe for a shitshow I agree.

I edited the post to add more info about the most recent history of the two firsts trade package. https://www.baltimorebeatdown.com/2023/3/6/23627251/3-recent-nfl-trades-including-two-first-round-draft-picks-khalil-mack-trade-tunsil-trade-watson Honestly with how teams are gearing so heavily with analytics I have a hard time believing a team will actually cave to those demands this go around.
-
I don't think the two firsts is going to go down. We've seen teams posture with that demand but when is the last time it actually happened? Watson Tunsil Mack In that order. The Watson package alone is enough to put an end to these wild trades. But the other two certainly don't help either.

It's practice but we definitely need to see Bryce work on underthrowing those back of the end zone passes. These are issues opposing defenses already know about it's on film.

The first sentence of that second tweet.....

Why your team sucks 2025 Carolina Panthers

Hey man if you're skeptical I can respect that. But Armanti Edwards? Cmon... That's a low blow. Let's at least be rational here and see how he looks in preseason.

It's definitely one of the better and more memorable catches. But the "best" IMO is undisputed because it has yet to be topped.

Madden 26 is out, Top 10 rookies revealed. Tet not on the list
frankw replied to Captain Morgan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Madden ratings are a popularity contest anyways. -
We started out last season with two of the ugliest lopsided losses in franchise history after holding out our starters for most of preseason. And before that in camp our defense actually looked halfway formidable against our offense. That same defense ended up being one of the worst ever. Skepticism is justified until we see some good results early in the season whether folks like it or not. That comes with the territory of not having a winning season in going on 8 years now.

I still remember this game. I was so excited for our new WR. Could have been another Mike Evans. Sometimes guys just never fulfill their potential for a number of reasons. Sad but it's life.
-
He's certainly no David Gettis

Getting chippy out there. I like the energy and swagger from the offense. I expect the defense to return the favor. I also very much like Canales response to the "showboating" question. Right now just let them cook. We need this attitude.
-
It is also fair to point out that the Panthers have taken a swing on two players discarded from the Jaguars in recent years and both were misses. Maybe we should just stop trying to find diamonds in the worst places and leave that in the Fitterer years.
-
I would be interested in Lloyd but I don't think we have to part with Coker and I do not want to either way given our depth in the past and also our struggles with getting real talented receivers with promise. Regardless. We couldn't resolve everything in a single offseason and I don't think we are in a "one move away" mindset. And we shouldn't be anyways as it has only bitten us in the ass time and time again in the past. I'm fine just letting things play out naturally as this is a development year anyways.
-
I wouldn't read much into it regardless. We've already seen Dalton in real action beyond one or two starts. And it was the complete opposite of good. My advice for anyone through camp and preseason is not to get too high or too low over what you see and hear. I'm not buying or selling anything until I see how this team performs the first two games of the season. From there we'll form a picture.

Out of the three I am most indifferent to the Bucs. At the same time. They hold bragging rights over us and the rest of the division with two titles. They can get fuged they've had their time to shine and their future hall of famers they haven't suffered by any means. So while I can't say I despise them as much as the Saints or Falcons I will still unequivocally root for them to lose every single time. We need to stop farting around give them a run for their money already.
-
You could be right in the end. But the Panthers homer in me doesn't want to hear all that lol.
-
I love Thomas Davis but I don't think he'll make it. Steve Smith Cam Newton and Luke Kuechly are what I would refer to as eventual locks. It's not a matter of if just when. It could be a long while though. I do see Olsen as having a good chance. People forget he actually had the record at the time for most consecutive 1k yards seasons for a TE with three. Kelce shattered it of course with seven consecutive which is insane. But still. That's rare company.

Love to see it but also a double edged sword there as Horn took some similar abuse last season. Best you can hope for is iron sharpening iron and everyone comes out better prepared.
-
That's good let them cook. I'll take pissed off over apathetic all day.

It is worth noting the fanbase has long held a love hate relationship with PFF over the years. Now that we are employing some of their people and actively using their data in our roster building approach going forward this should serve as the end all be all to any debate. This is either going to end really well or really bad. It's the Panthers. So save your energy and give it some time.
-
The loser mentality is definitely prevalent unfortunately. It can even trickle down to the fanbase and if you've looked around enough you've seen it. Although I think Hornets fans are wired differently than Panthers fans in that regard. The biggest thing with Princely or any of these other 1st or 2nd year players is backing it up. And there is a thin line between confidence and being a cocky jackass. But for now we definitely need more alpha energy and guys willing to set an example and I welcome it with open arms. Think about how much this fanbase griped about Brian Burns. That's why I've said just let these young guys be themselves and see where it takes us. Don't try to squash their confidence over small things. That's what we've been begging for so let it play out.

For those thinking Renfrow isn't making the team...Ha!
frankw replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
I agree. I just don't know what the market looks like for him. I mean WR trades the last few years the returns are minimal. Even a guy like Hopkins who is 33 only got a 5th in return when he was traded to the Chiefs last year. Unfortunately I feel it's likely at the end of the day that we are virtually the only team valuing Thielen the way we do.
