Social media is of course a cesspool. But I was referring less to fans which always have a few rotten apples in the bunch somewhere and more the Chiefs players. They're just as cocky as the Bengals if not more. It's the same as how other fans perceived the 2015 Panthers I guess. But that was one season. The Chiefs have had a possible dynasty with Mahomes. Now some of them act as if they have an expectation they are just supposed to win. That's why it was nice to see the Bengals humble them in the AFC championship last year.

I agree with you to a point but pinning the entirety of their struggles on Purdy getting hurt is not giving the Eagles and their coaching staff enough credit. The Niners were a potent offensive team heading into this matchup. They're lucky they even got on the board at all and that's what the Eagles have been doing to teams. They did the same thing to the Giants who looked fairly formidable against the Vikings. Give credit where it's due. The Eagles look like the next Super Bowl champion if they bring that level of play from both sides of the ball again.

This is the same team that once had McCaffrey throw for a score run in for a score and catch a touchdown against mediocre competition and near nonexistent defense. Oh and lousy coaching. It was never sustainable. We as Panthers fans should have been able to recognize it better than anyone. This crash back to reality is in part due to the unfortunate injury of Purdy but moreso due to the fact they have not faced an all around well coached dominant team like the Eagles.

Now 31-7. But muh 100 all purpose yards from the bestest running back ever.
