I remember there was a time when some wondered aloud if we would be able to afford the new and improved Sam Darnold. Baker has a redemption season to fulfill before any talk of the franchise tag or a new contract.

Thank goodness it's almost Saturday. I'm ready to get a glimpse of what this years team will be. If things don't go as hoped I expect some of the loudest folks won't be around much in the aftermath per usual.

Even with Bozeman coming off a return from an injury he is still an upgrade over Elflein with our snap issues from practice and preseason. I'm still not at all sold on the interior. An early dose of hopium has clouded some perceptions but I fear that will all be brought back down to earth by the second half. Cleveland is going to throw everything and the kitchen sink at these fellas up front.

Everyone knows CMC is a great piece to have. But we are the Carolina Panthers not the Carolina McCaffrey's. A good coaching staff can implement gameplans to both exploit mismatches with CMC and open up opportunities for other playmakers at various points within games. This offense really needs versatility not more of the same square peg round hole philosophy.

Yeah idk what he's going on about. In 2020 Henry led the league in touches per game and he got banged up and missed games. In 2019 CMC led the league in touches then proceeded to be on pace to do so again the last two seasons and has missed multiple games along the way. Looking at the list of last years leaders in RB touches several of them have dealt with their own injuries. https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/most-touches-by-rb-2021

Yeah because you definitely aren't lonely as you slink from thread to thread all day giving pie to anyone that says nice things about Matt Rhule. We both know if this team hits any level of adversity you'll be abandoning ship by December just as you did last year. For all your bluster you're very fickle. Anyways my prediction is 8-9 wins based on our schedule and our depth on the offensive and defensive lines.

I go to bed and come back and you're still here shouting lol. The first ever Panthers game I attended was in the 1-15 2001 season. Just because people are critical of management doesn't mean they aren't still loyal to their team or haven't been through tough times. Any fan who is still here talking about the team has been through some real poo. Same to you I'm hoping for a win Sunday whether our coach is Matt Rhule or Sir Purr.

You're not a Rhule homer but you are here day and night defending him. Right. Again if it bothers you so much STOP READING IT. One of the only people clinging to your posts is a lunatic on their second account spending their whole life sucking up to Matt Rhule. You two are no better than anyone else so keep telling yourself you're superior.

Our passing defense improved (from 15th to 4th avg yards per game) but the run defense based on avg yards per game was worse we dropped from 12th to 13th per espn.com numbers. Based on what little we did to improve our dline after seeing talent walk it would be a tall order to make a jump there if anything a step back is likely.

Week 1 General Discussions - Talk to me about the Browns
frankw replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
Seems to be a number of people who don't don't have much confidence in Stefanski as the head coach. I'm expecting Rhule and Co to handle business and not get worked over again. -
Ron was mediocre and needed to be fired but he still drinks Matt Rhule's milkshake who can't even hang with Joe Judge. Both things can be true.

Why do you keep trying to drag politics into discussions about our head coach? His record is what it is and that is the opposite of good. If you can't handle it being discussed you can choose not to open this website or these threads. He is a undeniable downgrade from the last head coach we moved on and that is a fact you are going to have to live with until he can prove otherwise this season. I hope he does I want a competitive team. But in the meantime I'm not going to engage in this self deception about his current record to appease your bizarre need to be a sycophant 24 hours a day. We will know some things for sure on Monday.

Cleveland's run preferences vs our defense's strengths and weaknesses
frankw replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Are we supposed to be holding the Saints in high regard? They've been on the decline for the last few seasons. Now without Brees and Payton they are supposed to be getting shellacked. And we should be one of the teams giving the ass kickings but instead we have three divisional victories in two seasons. -
Cleveland's run preferences vs our defense's strengths and weaknesses

If someone says "the run defense was not as bad as you think" I say the stats show we gave up 245 rushing yards to Dallas at 7.2 yards a pop. -
It's good to have a starter that isn't a milquetoast and I don't care one way or another about the shirt but it's put up or shut up. You gotta show out Baker.

It's just him and poundaway giving each other high fives over how many L's they've taken. You just have to let them have their little moment sometimes.
