  1. You mean the season our starting qb had 754 rushing yards and 6 rushing tds? Sadly that isn't ever going to happen again so this o line will have to be up to the task.
  2. It's going to be exciting to see this defense go to work. But they might be on the field as much as they were last year again by the looks of the current o line. Le sigh.
  3. This is true for sports but one winning season out of four is what it is. 2021 is a make or break year in many ways and not just for the highest paid players guys on lower end contracts looking to move up have just as much at stake too.
  4. Yeah it isn't like Carolina hasn't seen this story before. The Panthers tied up over 70 million dollars in two running backs 10 years ago and fans never let us forget about it in the years that followed. But handing 64 million to one running back now is just different
  5. The die has been cast all we can do now is hope we prosper and Fields is a bust. But if he isn't and he lights it up that question will loom largely for the next few years. That's the nature of sports.
  6. Gross wasn't some hall of fame left tackle but he was solid for sure. Take off those blinders for a brief time and realize even someone like Gross would be taking home a brinks truck in his prime in today's nfl. And Burns isn't going anywhere with or without Moton.
  7. So after weeks of takes expecting big passing numbers for Sam Darnold this year suddenly some folks think we can let our best tackle walk and everything will be gravy. This place is always good for a laugh.
  8. Can't argue with any of this. Seen this story play out enough times over the last several years. It's "Moton" btw.
  9. He'll get what the market dictates but the market is reset frequently. The floor for a top tackle is already pricey whether he stays on the right or makes a switch. Panthers fans might want to get this hometown discount vibe out of their heads.
  10. Panthers are past the point of blinking on working something out with Moton in a timely manner. They are now in a corner. He can all but name his own price.
  11. He was kind and complimented Marshall then offered words of support. But if you read this thread you would think he took a dump on the whole franchise. There are odd folks here.
  12. It isn't like Olsen called anyone out he was just open about the situation rather than giving a company line. Guys play for other teams it happens. It bothered me as much as seeing Thomas Davis in a Chargers jersey ie very little. Both players were clearly done anyway. Seeing Newton in a Patriots jersey doesn't bother me either. Plenty of well known Panthers who were involved in success with this franchise have worn other jerseys. Life goes on.
  13. Bridgewater isn't the worst qb but it isn't a question he lacked arm strength on the deep passes. I certainly can't recall him overthrowing our speedsters last year.
  14. Meh I wasn't happy about it but it really didn't matter. Any rivalry was long gone by that point and they aren't in our division anyway. He'll be fine.
  15. All chatter about retired numbers aside it will be nice to see #88 in the end zone again for old times sake.
  16. The microaggressions he was subjected to were exhausting. He made games fun to watch and that translated to his teammates despite some observers wanting as often as possible to detach him from that natural joy that he played with. He detested losing so much so that it sometimes got the best of him but it cannot be disputed that he changed the culture for the better. He carried that mentality with him in the years that followed even as some fans and the local media were practically kicking and screaming about changed norms along the way. If Carolina can recapture anything like that again soon we will be very lucky.
  17. Yep. Both teams had only 3 wins by week 10. By stroke of luck or a little tanking sprinkled in they finished on a 5 game losing streak and outdueled us for worst. I guess that's a silver lining if you are that hard up for a little optimism
  18. Well the good news is there is nowhere to go but up. Still waiting for that left tackle though...
  19. If he continues at this pace and can stay healthy he will easily approach 30 million per year on his upcoming contract. Better capitalize on that rookie deal now.
  20. Indeed. Hopefully they do better than their win percentage of .313 in both '19 and '20.
  21. We both know it's spite. The least we can do is be honest this is an anonymous chat. The point of the post which you glossed over was to stop popping champagne bottles over having a top offensive skill player while we are playing musical chairs with the bottom team in our division. Not everyone is satisfied with fawning over the highest paid running back while watching the team falter each season. It's all hands on deck for '21.
  22. I get the sense you are dragging in a feud from a previous disussion. My opinion is that Atlanta was not worse than Carolina last year. If anything we were neck and neck. Despite them having a higher draft pick than us we still split with them and we got swept by the Saints and Bucs. I guess we were a hair better than the lowly Falcons. Yay?
  23. Carolina is 2-10 in the division since 2019.
