  1. So it was all a dream that we were willing to give up the farm for Stafford and Watson first?
  2. To start the offseason Darnold was option C at best. That's fact not a wild theory.
  3. Right but I don't think they release that without considering all the angles is what I'm getting at. The Panthers media team is on a different level now. Even still the board with an already acquired Darnold would likely look different than without. Carolina showed what they were willing to part with for a veteran starter so who can say what they would have done if Darnold were not available and what the board would have looked like
  4. Remind me was that from draft night or released later after the fact? This new Panthers team is very deliberate about what they release so I'm skeptical they would show their hand even after the fact without knowing what they were doing.
  5. Are you referring to the Joe Person sources say leak about Jones and Lance? I have not seen the Panthers big board have you? So I can't say definitively what they would have done. But based on confirmed desperation before the draft I can make an educated guess that qb or a trade up would have been under consideration.
  6. Carolina nearly dealt the 8th pick for a 33 year old quarterback with no playoff wins and a 2-16 record against winning teams since 2018. If they actually had pick three all options would have been on the table.
  7. You are arguing with someone who would have taken a defensive tackle over a roty franchise quarterback ten years ago.
  8. He is. Trade with the Pistons.
  9. I like the pick. But I cannot justify moving Terry until some of these other players step up more consistently night in and night out.
  10. Hot seat is premature but he definitely has as much to prove as anyone else. He did indeed heavily lobby for Bridgewater. But he wasn't the one throwing passes and Teddy was too timid. That being said the redzone offense left a lot to be desired as did some of the calls late in games. But based on us adding Dan Arnold taking Terrace Marshall and then drafting Chuba Hubbard I would say scoring should be much improved this year if not yes some criticism is warranted.
  11. I'm curious where Teddy would be in that list too. He probably got the ball out quicker than most.
  12. The Panthers have won some games here and there and even had a win streak mixed in. It's how they have performed within the division that has been their downfall. When you can only muster say two divisional wins that's four losses that can sink your season and certainly make it a tall order to make the playoffs. Competing with the Bucs Saints and Falcons is the first order of business to right the ship and truthfully enough is enough with the excuses from everyone. The team wants to be their own hype machine...well put up or shut up.
  13. I had not heard that holding the ball too long was a knock on him it was correctly deciding where to go with it. Once you get to that it becomes a question of how often did he go through his reads. That would offer us a better sense of the relevance of data like this.
  14. I felt bad and thought maybe 89 was a little harsh on him with the parking cars remarks but now it's clear the light just isn't going to come on. It's a shame but it happens. I'm not going to condemn him because I can't know how he has felt as I have been lucky enough to have had a great mother all of my life. I think he needs to talk to someone and heal. He is still carrying grief with him and it shows by how he is burning bridges everywhere he goes.
  15. Worst case scenario is Sam is a turnover machine while the quarterback we passed on in the draft has a rookie of the year type of season. I don't think that is likely but it is certainly possible nonetheless.
  16. From a social media viewpoint the new photography restrictions are somewhat understandable. But for a franchise trying to regain relevancy it's counterproductive in the short term for fan engagement imo. But the Panthers will be the Panthers.
  17. DJ is gonna secure the bag no doubt. Ya'll need to put some respeck on his name this season
  18. Seems like a nice way of saying we are just doing what we can with what we have. We need to put Sam in the best opportunity and that is by having this line formed by preseason and able to gel together soon. Optimism is good and we can sugarcoat some of this but opponents will study film and know our roster weaknesses.
  19. You think there is some resentment in the locker room? These are grown men but it stands to reason not everyone who may just be trying to get that next contract and maintain their career will be thrilled with Rodgers who has already accumulated a fortune over the years.
  20. Or this could just be the beginning of a new chapter in the nfl in the age of pandemics and vaccines. More and more players are getting ideas of their own. Much like with how Watson tried to hold the Texans over a barrel Aaron Rodgers has followed in those footsteps. Deshaun was just arrogant to think none of his activities would ever come to light or could be used against him. Rodgers for whatever people may think about his personality doesn't have that baggage. Now he reaps the rewards. I don't think we have seen the last of elite quarterbacks pulling these stunts.
  21. I agree there is a double standard and Watson should be on the exempt list by now. But you have to remember that went down around the same time as the Ray Rice elevator footage was all over the internet. That was all in one summer. The league needed to make an example and timing doomed Hardy's career.
  22. Hardy had a second chance though. But he ended up creating a public rift in the locker room and getting arrested for cocaine possession
  23. He did later with the benefit of hindsight and wisdom being a little older. But from my understanding reading up on different quotes from Kobe's agent and others it was an impossibility. Even one of the personnel guys from the Kings said his agent told them point blank do not take Kobe he will not play for you. Mitch Kupchak last year said Charlotte had second thoughts and wanted to keep him when Vlade Divac threatened to retire. In the end his destiny was playing for the team he grew up with.
  24. Well you'll get no argument out of me about that. But unless Watson is formally charged and sentenced he will get more leeway as a young franchise quarterback than Hardy did as a late round defensive end.
