  1. Like a draft mock? I haven't looked at all that yet brother I'll dive into it over the next few months.
  2. I will say I really look what Chuba brings to the offense. He plays with a edge and we need that on our roster. Unfortunately this goes back to what we just talked about. We really need to see Brooks this season to get a true sense. Him not playing at all is worst case scenario and forces our hand in the offseason. As for Johnson. It all depends on how he finishes the season. But he is going to seek maximum value and hold us over a barrel if need be. I would do the same in his position. But unlike Chuba who is only 25 Diontae will be 29 next season. Inking him to a big extension is really risky regardless of our need. We should consider the Steelers approach to the position. As I said in the other thread about taking a QB next year. We should go BPA and stop forcing picks based solely on need. Let the chips fall where they may. But that will require Dan Morgan to operate differently and at this point no matter how much I like him on a personal level I cannot at this juncture say just how different he is from Scott Fitterer. But we need him to absolutely nail the next two drafts or we're toast.
  3. You already know my feelings on the Tepper's. The only hope I have is that maybe they finally back into something that works out and they step away more. Trust me I'm trying to maintain perspective and retain a certain level of rationality here through some dark times. I said all along I don't necessarily mind losing if we're doing so seeing bright spots from our young talent. I'm not arguing for firings because either way for the time being it won't solve anything. The replacements will just be worse because the only candidates who will want to work here will just be for the money and being sycophants to the Tepper's. That being said. When we lose and embarrass ourselves I'm not going to whisper sweet nothings in anyone's ear. I'm tired of seeing this franchise continue to be a joke within the division that IMO is really not very good at all. I think this whole situation would have more of a silver lining if we had maybe done some things differently. We've invested a ton in the oline and we could have a young Center on a rookie deal too. But we traded up for an injured RB. Now I'm not writing his future off yet and I just as much as anyone want to see Brooks become a baller for us. He didn't draft himself I'm not blaming him personally. But it was a luxury move plain and simple. Now we're mulling over giving high cost contract extensions on the offensive side of the ball after the season and the current offensive output is not at all consistently lining up with any such notion. This team needs a true rebuild in the offseason. Fully embrace the youth movement and close the door on the past. Yes that means guys like Shaq Thompson and especially guys like Ian Thomas. Draft and develop talent. It's going to take minimum at least a few more years sadly. But it's the only way.
  4. Ian Thomas with a worse grade than Jonathan Mingo is so fitting for this franchise. Three regime changes and still going strong. The Panthers in a nutshell.
  5. I felt Bryce was cooked before preseason. I saw the same Bryce Young that Dave Canales did in camp. Throwing awful picks in shorts into double coverage without even scanning the field and then looking like he'd rather be anywhere else. This after showing up to camp looking every bit the same physically. Then on top of it all the distinct lack of deep ball that certain people here went to ridiculous and comical lengths to rationalize. I think we should be careful to give Canales too much credit for the benching. I think there was turmoil in the locker room. Players were simply tired of the way Bryce was being coddled and handed his position. If fans like us could see it and tire of it how do you think his teammates felt? Regardless Dave and Dan rebuilt the offense and they knew doing so meant taking even more away from a defense that was already not up to Panthers standards. Now look at the results? All this hand wringing about the defense is just insulting in my POV. They knew what they were getting into. Start scoring some damn points. That's why you're here.
  6. Then Bryce never should have been the starter to begin the season. Shouldn't have that C patch on his jersey. And Canales and Morgan should have made any level of effort to put another young quarterback on the roster that isn't a jag at best. Dave and Dan saw the same QB we did throughout camp who struggled against what has become probably the worst Panthers defense ever. It was all a farce at the expense of the fanbase. So again. No free pass.
  7. Well let's take a look 36 10 24 20 That still puts the offense in the bottom half of the league. And look I have had scathing criticism for Bryce Young too but at the end of the day a big part of why we hired Canales was for what he could do to work with Bryce Young. He watched him all through camp and hid him in preseason. I'm not giving Dave a pass for the first two games. He's got the big boy pants on he runs the show.
  8. We definitely need to avoid throwing out any high priced contracts at this point. We've never committed to a proper rebuild. Even this year we had Dan Morgan calling it a "retooling". Just maddening. After the season you kick the tires with Chuba and see what he's looking for. Same with Johnson. Between the two I am more concerned with keeping Hubbard. I feel like he would be more likely to give us a little leeway. Diontae will absolutely be looking to get maximum value out of his contract and who can blame him? There will be no discount whatsoever. I like him and his potential but if we sign him to a big contract IMO there's a good chance we end up regretting it. That's nothing personal against Diontae. I just know my Panthers. It's what we do. Everything going forward should be about getting more draft assets if possible and drafting BPA. That's the only viable path to fixing this roster.
  9. The issue isn't do you pay Chubba the issue is we traded up for another RB with holes across the roster. Yes some other teams have a well oiled 2 back system that works great for them. But those teams generally have well rounded rosters otherwise. Pull up our depth chart and let it sink in.
  10. Sad to say the Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions are significantly better ran organizations. Anyways some of the best backs in the league right now were undrafted. People are just looking at specific teams to validate what we're doing. But we can't do anything right so ultimately it's just coping.
  11. There's blame to go around. I'm for all things being relatively equal. We made a concerted effort to shore up then offensive line in the offseason. We now have one of the most expensive O lines in the league. The defense was already struggling at times last season. Then we lost multiple players traded away a pass rusher. The cupboards are bare. All the same the defensive coordinator has some things to answer for. At the end of the day though he is not the head coach. On offense things could be better but we absolutely need to score more points. Fair or not the head coach has to figure that out regardless of all the talk of the defense. That's what he was brought in for.
  12. Everything under the Tepper's is either cringy or a steaming pile of poo.
  13. One of the few positives is we are at least giving significant reps to our young players. Of course there's really no one else anyways.
  14. Also can we not use the word program anymore? We're getting clowned by kickers now FFS.
  15. If you fire Evero then that puts the focus squarely on Canales offense struggling to score points.
  16. Even with a better defense you can only expect so much. It is an offensive league. That's not changing. When you hire an offensive head coach you need to be able to drop 30-40 points. Us slogging our way to 20 is pathetic.
  17. Much has been said about the improvement to our offensive line but it has been to the detriment of the rest of the roster. And even then with one of the most expensive OL's in the league and an offensive minded head coach we can only muster 2 touchdowns and 2 field goals at home against the Falcons who seem like they've had a mostly mediocre to shitty defense for years now. Anyone giving Morgan or the front office as a whole credit for anything as of right now is a simp. We are not even gum on the bottom of a shoe to the rest of our division. We are a complete joke from top to bottom.
  18. https://www.si.com/nfl/panthers/falcons-kicker-younghoe-koo-tells-panthers-keep-stankin Thanks Mr and Mrs. Tepper.
  19. Probably going to go ahead and preemptively unfollow the Panthers on YouTube so they do not give me notifications about more flufftastic videos next week. They can shove it.
  20. How many times are we going to give the Falcons the damn ball back late in the game in our own stadium? "Protect our dirt!"
  21. I'm tired of hearing about Evero. Fire his ass already. Then the focus will be on our offensive head coach who is sitting on 20 measly points at home against the Falcons.
