This. I've been saying much the same thing for months now and even said something very similar today in another thread. Everyone also seems to forget about Covid and all of the restrictions that went along with that. I don't mean it as an excuse for last season. It was terrible but it is a reality. I agree with you that Rhule has at least 2 if not 3 seasons to prove himself whether people like it or not. This was a complete rebuild and the team is coming along nicely. Fitty was a great addition and with his vision I think we are on the verge of something good in Carolina.

What does a Pro Personnel Director do exactly? I really have no idea about these types of positions.

I believe S Drew Hartlaub is a return specialist.

The flaw in the following thinking
Panthers Rhule replied to Centerfield's topic in Carolina Panthers
No reason to be sorry at all brother. I'm not emotionally invested in Rhule even if he's in my name. I just thought it was a clever name at the time. I still don't think he's on a hot seat though. I do think it's warm which is why we've seen him take a step back this off season. Also, I'm sure they are aware that he's not very popular at the moment among the fans so there is that to consider. But I'm also expecting us to look much better this year compared to last season. Last season was a disaster, it's true but everyone forgets that we were all mostly quite pleased after season 1 all things considered. Bringing in a totally new offensive staff was a good call and I love who we brought in. Coupled with the new additions to the OL I think we're going to be fine. Which means Rhule will be fine as well. I also still believe the Tepper is just patient. He is a hedge fund guy after all and a very successful one at that. That requires patience or you buy and sell to soon and profit less. -

Is ours? I know it's a popular opinion but I'm not convinced that it's a correct one. I'm not saying that it should or shouldn't be correct only the Tepper had so far demonstrated a lot of patience since buying this team. He spent 2 years getting the financial side in order as he put it while keeping the old regime and even then kept Hurney 1 more year. -
Yeah you were right. I like things like that. Of course it's about the players but trends are real. I find it interesting that OL, LB and TE are tops in the first 3 rounds and RBs are higher risk in every round. That's probably why teams wait till later rounds to draft RBs now.

The NFL may need to really start considering a Tweeter policy. This is getting ridiculous. Every week it's something now.

I think that list is 2 years old more or less but it still looks about right. If you look at QBs, QBs taken in the 5th and 6th have 0% and in the 7th it's 6%. The Brady Effect

I made a list once that was composed over a long period of time but I don't remember exactly how many years so one compiled of only the last 5 seasons may give different results but it looked like this 1st Round - OL (83%) LB (70%) TE (67%) DB (64%) QB (63%) WR (58%) RB (58%) DL (58%) 2nd Round - OL (70%) LB (55%) TE (50%) WR (49%) DB (46%) QB (27%) DL (26%) RB (25%) 3rd Round - OL (40%) TE (39%) LB (34%) DL (27%) WR (25%) DB (24%) QB (17%) RB (16%) 4th Round - DL (37%) TE (33%) OL (29%) LB (16%) WR(12%) DB (11%) RB (11%) QB (8%) 5th Round - TE (32%) DB (17%) WR (16%) OL (16%) DL (13%) RB (9%) LB (4%) QB (0%) 6th Round - TE (26%) OL (16%) DL (13%) WR (9%) DB (8%) RB (6%) LB (5%) QB (0%) 7th Round - DB (11%) OL (9%) QB (6%) WR (5%) DL (3%) LB (2%) RB (0%) TE (0%)

Sorry for quoting myself but this got me thinking and I went back to look at an old list I had made and in round six, OL and DL have the 2nd and 3rd highest success rates respectfully.
-
Actually, I think statistically speaking, DBs have the highest success rate of any position in the 7th round of becoming a starter one day. If we go DB in the 7th then that could be analytics being used.

If only there was an available RPO expert QB to mentor Corral....

Are you sure? 65 posts and every one of them I've read has been slamming us in some way. -
I love Fitz, I really do. Great guy, cool guy, family guy but no. I really don't get all of the QB mentor stuff anyway to be honest. Very few QBs mentor anyone. It's the QB coach's job to mentor QBs and maybe a little an OC or HC but not a QBs job. We have a well respected QB coach. Let him do his job and mentor him.

Has it started already?
