The only QB in this draft I would take is with a 1st is Stroud and maybe Young. You see how fragile Tua is and Bryce is smaller, plus the whole height thing. After Stroud had a good game against Georgia people seem to have forgotten he had one of the highest single read rates in the NCAA from a school that is notorious for QB proofing offenses. if you are going to go up that high for either of them you are going to sell the farm. This year you have a bunch of teams needing a QB so the price will likely be higher than usual.

Yeah doesn’t Carr have like the most 4th Q come backs and game winning drives since 2014 or something? -

A) Carr has a slight advantage on availability. Important to note how Ravens fans bitched about how long it took him to heal from his MCL sprain and Carr drug himself out there with a groin tear like the next week. B) you have to give up draft capital for Lamar and likely more money. It hasn’t taken the Ravens this long to resign him for no reason and the reports are saying he could want a contract fully guaranteed like Watson’s. -
would you be opposed to moving back up for Bijan Robinson?

I think he’s talking about trading back for a RB and pocketing picks. IF we trade back a TE or safety that can actually cover -
He did, I think both would just be a Reich proxy as far as playcalling goes. It could be either, I just lean towards JBC because of the connections. The way things are going this cycle it could be Jeff Davidson for all we know.

Jeff Nixon can take his ass somewhere else.

For those of you that put a lot of stock in mock drafts. This is from Chad Reuter at NFL Network 1 week before the draft. He has 5 QBs going in the 1st round. Pick 2: Kenny Pickett Pick 8: Malik Willis Pick 12: Matt Corral Pick 16: Desmond Ridder Pick 32: Sam Howell This is how they actually went: Pick 20: Kenny Pickett Pick 74: Desmond Ridder Pick 86: Malik Willis Pick 94: Matt Corral Pick 137: Bailey Zappe Pick 144: Sam Howell

I would be fine with either but I think the job is JBCs. He’s worked with Caldwell and Reich.

I don’t know what mouth breather thinks AR in Carolina is a move for them to build around. The guy is 3-4 years from playing at his ceiling (if it’s even that high) and he doesn’t even really fit in Reich’s offense.

The answer is yes.

He doesn’t follow us on Twitter, he only follows the 49ers and Colts there.

Yeah it is.

Yeah what fugging Cam Newton is in this draft?
-
Cap question though. If we signed him, we wouldn’t need to have the actual Cap Room until 3/15 right?
-
I really wouldn’t mind doing this so we can save our picks and go BPA down the list

But, but, but Steve Wilks is from Charlotte

From what I researched it doesn’t look like we will get any compensatory picks. Looks like Gilmore and Reddick were canceled by Corbett, Ioannidis, and Bozeman

Has anyone looked at our Cap situation for 2023?

I agree, paying 24 million for an average LB too close to 30 is not wise just because he is a fan favorite. Nobody else would pay that much money for him, why should we? Also tackles can sometime be misleading. You still get credit for a tackle if you miss your gap and run the guy down 10 yards later. TFLs, Sacks, FF, and INTs give you a clearer picture. Can anybody think of the last time Shaq made a Luke/TD/Morgan/Beason like play in a game? I just see a lot of tackles 5 yards past the LOS and a ton of dropped INTs. -
That’s because the defense gets shafted every year and there is a new rule that benefits the offense each season (as stated by Tepper). Want to make things fair? Get rid of offensive and defensive holding. Keep Roughing the Passer and Pass Interference. Defensive gets to hold these whiny receivers and OL gets to grab pass rushers.

We are actually like 9 million above the cap from roll over money from this year. But that balances out when you account for draft picks. You can restructure Moore and Moton and save about 10 million. You can cut Shaq and save about 13 million. You can cut Zane, Elflein, and Wilson and save about 9 million. That gives you 31 million. You can also trade Burns and get draft picks and save another 16 million but all the fans that just started following the team in 2018 would get mad. -
In the Chiefs defense though, that RT from Philly was kicking back early almost every play. Almost worse than Jake Matthews in the ATL game this year.
-
I really wonder if the pendulum will ever swing back towards the defense. Even Tepper said part of why he wanted a OC was because a new offensive rule is being passed every year. IMO, get rid of offensive holding and defensive holding and let them go at it. Got to keep DPI and RTP but those are a little less subjective to human error I guess.

The past year or so I have been digging pretty deep into my family history, using ancestry and other sites to learn more. There is a very interesting character, my great -grandfather. He was alive from the 1870s to the 1930s and lived in Spartanburg. I don’t remember my dad speaking much about him other than hearing he was “strict” occasionally but dad is gone now, and my grandfather was dead before I was born. I really don’t have any family left that would know anything about him. He seemed to have had his had his hands in a bunch of different business and patented some things. Long story short, his death seems odd. His wife died like a year earlier “of a brief illness” and then then he has 2 different obituaries. One states he passed of a heart attack in his home after a brief illness, the other states he passed of a brief illness while being surrounded by family after suffering a heart attack a few weeks earlier. His death certificate states the cause of his death was poisoning from the exhaust of a motor vehicle. Just curious if during that time period there would be any other records other than the death certificate?
