Anybody else think we are putting to much on Bryce's plate?
Diehardpanth02 replied to DennisM1's topic in Carolina Panthers
Why does everyone think you need a Justin Jefferson or Davante Adams for a QB to be successful. They said that about Derrick Carr too, like 4 different times and he was still the same guy. It's nice, but a well designed offense with a Great OL does far more than one stud WR. -
It's only a stale take to those who take the good in what they have for granted and paint it as a "grass is greener" answer. The grass always gets greener where you water it. And under no circumstances would trading the only semblance of a pass rush we have, for a what if would be good for this team. Retaining burns is a priority. Surrounding him with help on the other edge is equally as Important. Your only stating this as if your coming from a stand point of logic. And logically your argument is flawed. A hater isn't a useless word, it's trendy, or another way of saying cynic or a doubter. Some who has a strong dislike towards someone or something. And I think you should admit that, at least, you don't believe in burns as a long term option.

Will the Panthers or won't they contend for a playoff spot
Diehardpanth02 replied to panthers55's topic in Carolina Panthers
The real thing we are looking over is just how good that defense was. Paired with an almost unstoppable run-game we were a very hard team to beat. We controlled the clock and you really had to beat us upfront to win against our defense. This sport has 3 phases, and while we may be close or maybe slightly better offensively, can we say the same for defense and special teams? That defense was one of the best of the last few decades in the entire league. -
Waiting for you to stop whining and complaining bc people are cool with a wait and see approach rather than throw a child like tantrum over a middle round trade.
-
You are one of them. That's why your butthurt. Poor fellow. We can have difference of opinion you know? It's ok for someone to disagree. Your feelings are still valid.
-
Go look at the thread, hahahaa, lol hahaha at all the complaints hahahaha ok like totally just go and do it yourself. Bum. Your no different.

People acted like we traded away our remaining first round picks from here on out over this dude. It was a late 3rd and 4th rounder lmao

To the doubters. This guy's attributes sets up for what we needed. He's a run stopper. We don't have many of those. He is an edge setter. Y'all need to chill tf out. I have been able to understand every pick we've taken, most of you forget no draft pick is perfect. They have to learn the game. And that's part of the battle. You would have done this. We should've done that. You should go get in a thumb war with someone who cares. Bc I can promise you the Panthers FO does not.

I believe it. Wholeheartedly. This is the QB we've been missing.. mentally strong. Humble. Driven. And Composed. -
Where do you "rank" Burns as Panthers all-time DEs?
Diehardpanth02 replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
You know in thinking about this, I think your rankings are pretty clear. I mean you do leave out some guys that could potentially be listed just because they had more sacks than burns: Mario Addison and Kevin Greene both had more sacks in a Panthers uniform than Burns. That's likely to change this year though. But the part I think we are all missing with this, is again, it's a team sport. Individual stats leave out key details about the game. So therefore the productivity of the player is effected greatly. Think about the Guys peppers played across from and on the interior. Same for the rest of your guys on the list. CJ had Hardy, Kawann at his height, Star and a great linebacker core. Same for Hardy. Teams couldn't focus on them. That DA Rule left Burns out there to be keyed on with no real help surrounding him and he still manages to get to the QB. Something is to be said about that. -
As long as the occasional home run is attempted to keep the defense honest this really is the way to play offense. It wears down defenses.
-
Once again, another bot take. You guys are making awful comparisons. RGIII never knew when to let a play die. Dude would literally eject himself by trying to somersault 250 lb linebackers. Bryce is smarter than that. Take what the defense gives and protect yourself. Our staff knowing he's a bit undersized will harp on that. I think you guys will try anything to disprove this guy, and frankly, that's what makes me the most optimistic about it. A lot of people doubted Cam. He went off for us. A lot of people were mad at the Luke pick, see how that worked out. It's a lock Bryce is our guy.

This forum gets on my nerves most days. Sure, we want more but if we get a QB that wins a ship you all would still complain.

Bryce Young Film Breakdown Megathread
Diehardpanth02 replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is an awful comparison and rules out the well known fact that this game is a team sport. Georgia beat Stroud and Young, with a QB who doesn't even hold a candle to the two. Stetson Bennett played in a system built perfectly around him. No gaps. No holes. You can't use this comparison for that reason alone. -
Are smaller players more injury-prone?
Diehardpanth02 replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
Wouldn't that also protect from those high impact hits you care about too? -

Shhh, don't tell them an injury is an injury. It doesn't fit their narrative -

Bro Y'all will find any excuse necessary to disregard proven skillset's. Drew Brees was literally known for not being able to see over his OL. Yet him being able to Anticipate will bring him to the hall of Fame. Bryce has the same track record. I could understand if he got his balls batted like baker. Pun intended. But he's shown over and over he can manipulate the pocket and throw guys open. It's not a concern.
