I'm playing around with spotrac and I really don't see how we can get $60M off the books to afford a franchise tag. Enough to take that $5-8M first year cap hit is doable. Still going to be extending/restructuring Moton/DJ/Donte/CMC yet again, and also Shaq might be a cap casualty unless they seriously wanna consider extending him. I could see Robbie getting cut to save $12M

With our cap debt next year I'm not sure we could afford to tag him, tag would be $30M and we're already $20-30M in debt depending on how much we can roll over from this year. If you sign him to multiple years you can make 2023 mostly bonus money that won't count towards the cap immediately. Watson's cap hit is like $10M this year but he got $40somethingM in signing bonus.

I wonder how many Darnold jerseys they have in storage. I don't recall hearing anyone pick one up even during his 3 game win streak
-
Brissett hasn't played a snap in either game, this week will be his only preseason action. Interesting
-
If he has a 2020 year are there really that many teams that would really want to get into a bidding war for him? I think most projections have him valued around $34M. We'd actually be better off extending him next year than tagging him since we're already -$30M in cap space, could make his 2023 year mostly bonus money

It's these kinda fans that will be sold on this outfit

To me that looks like 50/50, mostly bad/rebuilding teams playing starters this week, better/more established teams did it last week. Bills put up 42 points last week and said we're good. Don't care to debate on specifics of who and why. It's more about if our starters look average/bad against the Bills 2nd team

Did you enjoy the last 2 seasons? -
1st training camp making an impression on his new grown ass adult players

They also went 10-6 in his second year. It fell apart when he took over roster control
-
We scored one field goal and then got shut out the next 3 quarters. They got better after adjusting at the half, we didn't.

Predict the initial 53 man roster for 2022

Bugs me that our starting LG is our backup LT, changing the whole left side if Ickey goes down sounds like a disaster. It will also probably take a Jordan or Erving injury for Rhule to play Mays who looked way better than either of them. -
We know about lingering hamstring issues
-
If anything Campen was probably annoyed he didn't have a starting 5 work with yet. A week ago BC was battling for left tackle and now he's left guard, can't really do much until you know where he's playing

TMJ is really throwing a wrench into this whole situation with his availability. If Roberts makes the team you're basically looking at TMJ/Zylstra (who actually plays special teams) as your battle for the last spot. I'd personally try to trade TMJ for an interior D-line rotational guy in a perfect world. Otherwise we're gonna cut someone who won't clear waivers
-
Theres also a chance of him taking on returns, he's looked solid in both preseason games returning almost everything. I don't really have a problem having some kinda Moore/Robbie/Shi/Higgins rotation keeping guys fresh. Guys weren't gassed from taking deep shots last year so something we'll have to account for with Baker actually willing to sling it
