so basically rams offered 2 first round picks for burns. those picks because the rams are decent would be towards the back end of first round. we got burns mid way through first. so the value of 2 late round picks might not even equal burns value. not to mention one of those picks would have to be his replacement. If your trying to replace him you need to hit which isnt a sure thing. could just set us back. same thing with Moore. hes a proven entity. 3 1000 yard seasons... finding those guys isnt easy. Especially guys that are good and young which both are.

Thats a big gamble and what if.. What if the guy you draft isnt as good as burns a proven player who has made the pro bowl. If a team is willing to give up that much for him dont you think they have seen enough to warrent giving up that much and approve of his value? Yes we would miss him that much because without him who else has gotten consistent pressure on the qb this year? answer no.... and he draws double teams and chips because we have no one else.
-
His play on the field isn't the problem. yes hes going to get a brinks truck. he gets good pressure on the qb even if he doesnt get the sack. disruption is production and can lead to a big play. its like a corner that doesnt get thrown at. Brinks truck for a guy for a young pass rusher who is usually good for 1 sack a game is warranted.

He's to big a gamble. right now he would be based 100% on potential. Tepper doesnt seem like the gamble without data to back up said gamble type guy. Cam was a gamble. .

Its really early. I really dont dig into the draft until after the season is over. all the tape is in. start seeing some measurables... im big athletic thresholds and such so combine numbers and performances. see the arm strength. There is always a late riser.. im personally very curious to see if Anthony richardson can develop. He is carving A&M up right now. If he can figure it out hes got the unique tools be lamar jackson like...

didnt someone in this very threat show a draft analysis ranking and he was ranked 12 out of like 360. Kiper is fine on the upper end of it all but like weather predictions no one is 100% accurate. a bunch of factors go into a players success which have nothing to do with talent evaluation. Coaching.. Outside factors( henry riggs) talent around player and of course work eithic. scouting a player and sayinf he has the tools is about as far as a draft scout can go... if he doesnt pop does that mean he never had the talent? or did some other factor stop him from reaching that ceiling?

he talks about that all the time. he got a job offer from the baltimore colts but they moved to ind and wanted him to come but his family is in Baltimore so he didnt accept.

I enjoy Kiper and Mcshay immensely. they do the work. But whos predictions in anything are 100% accurate or to be taken as gospel? Guy deserves a hall of fame jacket for making the draft what it is as i say every year. He and Mcshay remind me of the ole veteran cop and the young rookie. Kiper is the old stick with his gut instincts about a guy which can get you in trouble but can make you look luke a genius like we saw with his Pickles take. but also he was also the one who saw Josh Allen and said he would be the best qb.. Mcshay is the young guy who goes with the science and metrics usually sounds more responsible. They are a great duo... usually the truth is some where in the middle. I enjoy their podcast called first draft they do every week during draft season where they talk back and forth for a hour about the draft and guys I wouldnt know otherwise.

"caption Will Anderson is one of the best pass rusher I have graded this past decade"

not mad at this class. at all. Every year a class of qbs comes out and the year before everyone is screaming thie class sucke wait til next year. then that class comes and its the same thing. Nothing wrong with these guys. I think there is someone for everyone. you got the pocket passer in Stroud. you got big arm talent in Levis. you got the lamar jackson eqsue runner with richardson. Not to mention thrown the hisman winner who has a bit russell wilson to him and im sure there is something we can find for everyone to like.

im not saying this should be your only way of beatinf an opponent. im saying having the threat of it or even having this as an option should be on every team i think. the more you can give the opposition to think about the better. i feel the same way about having a dual threat qb. the more you can do...

not trying to move the goal post just pain the picture on what type of player olsen was. And yes when you think big WR or TE you think throwing fades and jump balls. thats another part of the game we judt dont have. if you mean just a redzone target you scheme open like you do then Moore can do that. just picks and route running. what i mean is above 6'4 big body muscle a guy out the way allen Robinson gronk aj brown that sort of thing.
-
Olsen didnt play very big. you rarely saw him just jump up and win a jump ball. If he got touched he was going down on first contact. he was really finesse like in his play. Robbie Anderson was the same way he played a small game even tho he was 6'3 DJ Moore played bigger than Anderson.
-
Agreed. But when is the last time we had a big rezone target? i mean even olsen is on the smaller finesse side of tight ends.
-
well which of those are true redzone targets.. how tall are they and how many touchdowns do they have?
-
i agree. a redzone target is always needed. we dont even have a true redzone te target.

What’s your 2023 QB big board (including Corral)

I'm implying that its usually a better idea to gamble on the guy with more dynamic traits than higher floor/pro readiness. Being able to run gives you a higher floor until you are able to to read defenses and develop the other side of the game. at the very least day 1 Willis gave you the read option threat that could be counted on day 1. Corrals strengths need to be honned and even now we still dont know if they translate. -

you should want a dual threat. our most successful qbs have been dual threats as has been the case with most of the league. read option is dominate in the league right now and pocket passers arent doing so great. -
yep... I was banging the table the loudest for willis this offseason while most of the conservative base screamed bust. at the least hes looking like a better 3rd round investment than Corral .

they said the same thing about Willis vs corral.. look where he is and look who is starting this Sunday.. always gamble on upside. -

higher upside.. more physical ability. faster bigger threat to run. bigger arm. Hes better at almost everything except pro readiness and accuracy which can be developed. give me the things thay cant be coached and let the guys we hire do their job.
