Trading down to draft Jonathan Brooks in the second; 2. giving washed up Dalton an extension w/ 6M guaranteed; 3. giving Chuba Hubbard a contract extension with 14M guaranteed after you spent so much draft capital at the position: 4. trading into the first round to draft XL when McConkey was available.

    After we traded down to draft Brooks in the second and then just before we used a fourth rounder to draft Etienne. For every smart roster move, the Panthers have two stupid ones.

    Not another short guy w/ who needs to wind up and plant his feet to throw intermediate/long. I like him more than Bryce for sure though.

    It may not be the kind of qb class everyone thought at the start of the college season, but I would hope we take a hard look at Mendoza for IU, Moore for Oregon, or Ty Simpson for Bama if any of them fall to us. I think we are headed to a good chance at one of the three. Not sure what we do with Bryce in that situation.

    I think Mac Jones needs Shanahan. Not a great list. I would probably pick Mariota if i had to chose one. Considering where we are likely to pick, i think we should consider Simpson in the first or Nussmeir in the second.

    It is pretty obvious that you should not draft a player that you do not like/believe in. We should be scouting qb's for the 2026 draft and have a plan though.

    Right now we have four teams in front of us likely to take a qb (Jets, Dolphins, Browns, Raiders) and about three (Mendoza IU, Moore UO, Simpson Bama) good looking prospects. I guess we could take one from the second tier (Sellers USC, Beck UM, Nussmeir LSU) with our second pick. White does nothing for our long term need at the position.

    Cosell is great and correct in this case. Just as interesting was the next subject and the Dick Vermeil quote (when you take a guy 1 the whole building must be focused on making him succeed) and how the Titans were doing a bad job of that. We surrounded a complimentary piece with a joke of a wr corp, oline, coach. LOL. 30M is too expensive for a complimentary piece.

    A second rounder who will turn thirty one this season and will be 35 at the end of a huge contract when we still need to find a qb and fill so many other holes? I don't understand the win now mentality on here. I guess optimism is a good thing but...

    It's too early to dedicate our first pick in the draft to an edge rusher when we have so many holes to fill but there are some good ones. That first pick might have to be a qb.

    Rhule has a good college resume: Temple: 2-10, 6-6, 10-5, 10-3 Baylor: 1-11, 7-6, 11-3 Nebraska: 5-7, 7-6, 5-1..... He gets to double digit wins in his third year taking over programs in bad shape. I think its him or Cignetti.

    Bryce had a good game. The fact that receivers were wide open against a horrible pass defense doesn't mean he is likely to continue.

    Jets just had -10 passing yards (net), which is the worst in the NFL since the Bears put up -20 in 1981. That is some serious poo. Scourton fixing to eat.
