At the very least Rhule should lose personel decisions.
Icege replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
You know, with the way that the roster is currently structured in that this team is basically what we're looking at next year with few resources to do much tinkering with, it almost feels like we have to just ride with the poo show next season so that when 2023 starts the team will have draft capital + plenty of cap space to work with. This is as close to a Houston situation as we can be sans the Deshaun Watson fiasco. Unless the new coaching staff is getting to treat next season like "year 0" with expectations to simply be "don't regress" in the following season... idk... this just doesn't seem like an attractive head coaching destination currently. Granted, there's only 32 of those spots so they're attractive regardless, but this is ass. -
I always get tickled by the "If you're skilled enough to get paid to play a sport professionally then I'm entitled to be a piece of poo towards you," sentiment that inevitably pops up in response to these threads.

The way they structured the player contracts, they really thought that they were going to be competing this season and next. Now they're out a 2nd and 3rd while staring at a potential top 10 pick. It does raise the question about whether or not they just march this out next season before pulling the plug midway thru. This isn't quite Houston-level bad yet, but we're getting there.

JStew liked this tweet from CJ. Could just be agreeing, but could also be a sign of things to come.

Wow. DJ Moore getting hurt, and then getting bonked by the trainer's tent by the trainer is a perfect representation of a Matt Rhule-led Panthers' team.

I made it through the Clausen season with less disappointment and dissatisfaction than I have this season with Rhule & co. Time to clean house and get some actual NFL-level coaching on board.

That's all we need to hear to know that he's actually a top 5 prospect.

Exactly. I'd love to hear whether or not scouts are finding the 2nd - 4th round prospects to be fairly close. I recall Fitterer saying that guys 26 - 100 (or 150?) were all round about the same impact-wise. If they had the foresight to ID a potentially weak 2nd & 3rd round, it makes the CJ Henderson trade even better (or the Sam Darnold trade even worse if it's a strong class).

Deviation from the Original Plan.. Is the Reason for this Mess..
Icege replied to WOW!!'s topic in Carolina Panthers
Sticking with the original plan would've meant retaining a 2nd, 4th, and 6th round draft pick as well as the ability to part ways with Teddy to save $21M rather than being stuck with Darnold at the cost of $19M. Just imagine... this team was in a position to draft Mac Jones. Instead, they decided to pay $17M, a 2nd, a 4th, and a 6th in exchange for Sam Darnold replacing Teddy Bridgewater plus a 6th. That's awful no matter how much somebody hates Teddy for replacing Cam. We really could've been in a position to have Mac Jones starting next year behind Christensen-???-Linderbaum-Brown-Moton -

Thoughts on day 2 prospects? Is this looking to be a top heavy draft class or maybe one with plenty of depth but few monsters? Strongest/weakest position groups?

- Cameron Erving: 34 1/8 inches - Dennis Daley: 33 3/8 inches I hate it here.

Icege replied to WOW!!'s topic in Carolina Panthers
This was literally the point of the thread that I made, but somehow folks thought it was a pro-Teddy thread in spite of explicitly stating at the very beginning that it isn't pro-Teddy. -
Tyler Linderbaum being available where we pick is good enough for me :3 Def agree on Hutchinson being DE1 this season. Surprised by Ekwonu @ #7, but the Giants are in desperate need of iOL help so I can get down with it.

I don't understand Rhule's rationale here. He fired the OC after the offense continued to fail in redzone, on 3rd down, and short yardage situations but is continuing to have the same people that designed those shortcomings put out flawed gameplans?

Jerry Richardson knew you didn't have to win it all, just some.
