Well, the Niners just doomed themselves to mediocrity
fanpanther replied to LinvilleGorge's topic in Carolina Panthers
about half the people posting on this thread have said Purdy is a journeyman below average qb at best. It is interesting how many panther fans are 49er fans also guessing b/c of Cmac. But really right now all this conversation is pointless but at the end of the year someone needs to remember to bring this thread back up so we can see how Purdy did and how deebo did on a new team and we can continue the discussion. -

a healthy aiyuc would start over theilen, but jennings hasnt shown much he was forced to be the starter the majority of the year last year with a horrible defense and never eclipsed 100yards in a game. When theilen was healthy he outproduced jennings on a per game basis with worse qb play. Like I said all opinions but I havnt seen anything out of him to say he is anything more than a third wr, maybe a 2nd if the other options are bad. his career stats pretty much support that he has never been anywhere near ATs better years. -

Kittle would start Juan jennings is a 27 year old 7th round pic whose best season up until last year was 35 catches 416 yards he only started due to all the injuries, deebo is washed up was overweight slow and just bad last year injured a ton. Aiyuk did play in 7 games mostly injured and was a shell of himself caught 25 passes for 374 yards over those entire 7 games normally that would be his stat line over 3 games. Pearsall returned from being shot but a first round pic and believe will be a good wr. If I were buildign a team from the two teams of healthy players that played mostly last year. I took out aiyuk b/c he was a shell of himself. and Deebo is terrible but just my opinion and will see how he does with the redskins. RB Chubba Hubbard TE Kittle WR Thielen, Pearsal, Legette/Coker This is all opinion based and we will see how Purdy does this year but to say the 49ers had an all start team last year is a huge exaggeration. -

Not sure why people work so hard to try and say Purdy is terrible. He seems like a really likable hard working QB. To put things into perspective look at the panthers all time leading passing stats vs purdys So Purdy has played very few games and his down year would be 4 or 5 all time for the panthers and his best year would be 2nd all time for the panthers. Not sure why anyone would think paying this qb who is still growing in the game 7th overall for this year which will most likely fall to 14 or 15th overall next year is a bad move. He had no one last year and still put up good numbers the panthers arguably had better skill players than the 49ers did healthy last year. panthers had better healthy rb, wr were close to equal slight edge to panthers, and the 49ers had way better te play. -

I agree 100% people keep talking about how loaded their team was but the star guys are almost always injured and last yearpurdy had no one at all and still put up good numbers. As a panther fan i would be thrilled for purdys worse season wish more people would actually look at his stats u could argue his worse season is better than all but 1 or 2 cam seasons for the panthers. It will be interesting to see how some players do away from purdy i believe he actually makes alot of them better. But all moot if they make the playoffs again this year the contract was worth it -

Panthers would get the chance but straight up with the contract and all the morgan should send bryce packing for purdy in a fictional world. The contract isnt even that large its 7th in the nfl average and by next year will be 15th at least with new qbs getting deals. Nfl qbs get paid when they play well maybe b young will get a chance to get paid one day but he has a long long ways to go to ever reach purdys bad year -

Profootballtalk.nbcsports.com article said it was currently at 7th but it somehow had alot of fake money bc they dropped his old contract completly and replaced it with this one so the new money put it more of 10th but with alot of new qb contracts in coming years they said by end of next year it would be closer to 15th in the league. All stuff i dont understand but they said initial report was inflated numbers and not real new money. Either way will be interesting to see if he grows or sinks just hoping byoung can put up numbers close to his this year and i think panthers make playoffs if he does. -

So purdys per year average according to profootballtalk.nbcsports.com pays him about middle of the road around 15th i believe. He has put up really good stats i would love to see byoung put up even his bad year stats seems like the 49ers made a solid deal with him. -
D Carr must have really disliked the saints to wait and do this announcement after the draft has passed if he made this call a few weeks before the draft sure they would have approached it and the offseason differently. oh well will be interesting to see how their qbs perform. would love to see them roll with Thill and just make the whole offense towards his skillset. Although sadly would be only playing in about half the games with how often he gets injured.

If Bryce doesn’t produce, we moving on?
fanpanther replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I disagree on the at. Everyone always talking down but can you list 9 slot wrs that had better production with a qb that was abysmal until recently ? I agree with the rest but a number 1 pic qb in his 3rd year this team is plenty stacked to have a good year. If by reverts back to abysmal by then not sure there is much hope for him. As always nfl teams will be reviewing his film so sure it will be harder for him this year also but hopefully he put in some offseason work. -
Round 6, Pick 32 (#208) - Jimmy Horn Jr, WR, Colorado
fanpanther replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Now I am even more curious about what all happened during the interviews. I just read an article today that said last night he went to a club with a suitcase full of 100s to celebrate and was accompanied by 5 or 6 rappers and partied till the place closed at 4am. Not that I blame anyone for partying with some ladies just seems like a poor time to decide to do this with all his image issues. -

I would love to know thr real reason sanders fell so far in this draft. Also no clue why the jets or steelers didnt take a shot on him before the browns. Crazy if young had not improved down the stretch sanders would have probably been a panther. -
Round 1 - Panthers Select Tetairoa McMillan at Pick 8
fanpanther replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean honestly looking back at the last 5 years or so I feel confident anyone on this message board would have had at least the same level of success lol -
Round 1 - Panthers Select Tetairoa McMillan at Pick 8

Pretty much spot on analysis of the selection. Maybe he works out but appears super slow quick area speed, and seems like the panthers would have benefited more from the penn te -
Round 1 - Panthers Select Tetairoa McMillan at Pick 8

Yeah not a fan of this pic would have preferred penn te if they were going offense. He may be faster then this wr lol. He looks so so so slow off the line and in his breaks -
Ranking every Panthers draft class alex zeitlow observer
fanpanther replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
I thought 2021 seemed high lol i thought 2004 seemed low at 19. 2018 should be closer to the bottom. do not get 2014 at 12 either. Not as bad overall drafting as i expected. -

Panthers sign Jaycee Horn to $100 million dollar deal
fanpanther replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Very risky he has played in 37 out of 68 possible nfl games. Hope it works out for the panthers if his health stays like its been being panthers will pay him 27mil per game. -
Wonder if this means sam howell is going to get a shot as seahawks starter
