Just looking at stats from the game his stats were on par with byoung or better . So looking at this one game they both had really good games .

This season will show if Frank firing was the right call of if young is a terrible coach killing qb. We should revisit this thread about 5 games in.

They should only bring all the starters out for the 4th quarter and go against the bills cut squad. Get some confidence going lol

The 99 season the offense was just fun to watch. Defense was terrrible and coaching not the greatest but the ball was getting thrown all over the field cant remember if it was 99 or not but the qb sneak at GB was amazing also slowest working sneak ever. side note had a friend worked at target in charlotte and steve b returned a cheap pair of shoes he bought from target. He was amazed he bought shoes from target lol

He did win mvp that season and as a season it was a great one. Defense helped him a ton but as a pure passing season steve b 99 season toped all of cams stats that season by alot 16 310 517 60.0 4,051 7.8 21 17. Cams stats 16 343 571 60.1 4,436 7.8 36 15 steve b

I really dont see the hype around him. He had one season where he broke 1k yards and that was with big ben. Not sure young is going to get more oit of him than his past qbs but could be wrong.

Just looking at just qb play and nothing else steve bs 99 season is easily the best qb play for one season the panthers ever had.

Holds a ton of single season passing records for the panthers may have put up best passing season in panthers history

Maybe if he plays the panthers starters in the 4th against the backups it could be a confidence builder for young lol

Yeah makes total sense they kept trying to find an offense young could excell at but never could find one.

Meant more doing alot better than they did with the panthers and doing better at qb than young unless he makes giant leaps this year

Seeing alot of hype around both of them this year....never would have guessed the qbs panthers got rid of would be succeeding while the qb they traded everything to get is historically bad. Crazy to think about. Another ex panther kyleallen is expected to be a fa soon....

U called it bo nix just lead 4 scoring drives....now its official everyteam has a better starting qb than the panthers.

Thats a good question just running through the nfl teams in my head only team i can think may have a worse starting qb would be denver.

With how rookie qbs played last year and how they looking so far this year its gonna be hard to find any even the undrafted ones that r performing worse than young....very disheartening

Caleb williams looking better in 1st preseason game than young has to date....that trade gonna be even worse if williams has a steller 1st season

I know this reply doesnt really fall under this but its crazy i know 10plus people personally that believe Trump hired an expert marskman to shoot his ear at 130plus yards. The 2 to 4 inch life or death grouping the rifle he used would have at that distance doesnt register with them at all. Lol

Jimmy was horrible and I remember having no clue why they kept putting him in over matt moore made no sense. Young is more of a weinki level bad at the moment. Still terrible just not horrible lol.

I agree i had my doubts about Purdy also but he is becoming an amazing passing qb. I think alot of people doubt him becaise he isnt athletically gifted but he just throws a great ball and makes great decisions. He could one day end up like brady bb discussion if coach makes him or he makes coach

I think if he was on this team last year he would have performed alot better than Bryce Young. Not as good as he did with the 49ers of course but we would have made the playoffs. PFF has him 6th in nfl with their rankings I think thats about right currently and when you look at all the qbs in the nfl had me thinking if I were the gm what qbs woudl I take young over... I think maybe 2 .

So Brock Purdy led the NFL in passer rating by a 10plus points. He put up amazing stats 5th in nfl in passing yards. His team is good his coach is good but still takes a great QB to make it happen. Everyone can keep saying he isnt any good and he can keep putting up crazy stats playoffs superbowls but is what it is would love to have him on this team instead of Byoung. 49ers are set for a while.

Purdys stats are amazing and he wins. Look at past 49ers qbs under shanahan purdy brought out the best in everyone. Byoung would be like trey lance in the 49ers offense ......
