Even the harshest critics should wait a few weeks. New offense, new coaches, new players, all that. Even with 4 preseason games the 1st week was never a good indicator. With only three now, I am telling myself it is 2 games before poo gets really real. I did that every year, just totally didn’t ascribe a ton of importance to what happened Week 1 good or bad. That said, last year in game one I was completely confused, hurt and angry lol.

He really would have killed it with the proper mechanics. Another level.

Fox lost a lot of my respect in 2010 for not taking the high road and coaching hard. He just stuck it to JR any way he could.

I think Moton is somewhere around Wharton. Who was really good for us.

This is exactly what they should be doing. I really think the best shot Young has to not revert to that bad stuff is have him more under center because it requires a different process altogether. Which can maybe be developed easier because you are not having to erase a bunch of instinctive ingrained counter productive habits, or have them fight against the new way. Wild idea probably. I have always been a skeptic on whether he could be torn down and rebuilt because it is really hard to do for most.

Last year. I was real disappointed in just about everything from the coaching hire and real down on the draft, then we saw preseason. So, not excited is a nice way to say it. More excited this year, or probably a little more long term hopeful than last year because so far I like the Morgan and Canales team. That’s real easy to do now, before we know how these draft picks and the team in general look.

The biggest thing going in Panthers land is the QB and the passing game pretty much and the OL and what it will be under Canales. What’s it going to look like. Somewhere down the list are the rest of the topics. So that’s gonna happen. And the only way that trade gets forgotten is if Young is so much more than he has shown. Sorry. That’s the reality. If he fails it won’t be forgotten because it is probably a top ten disaster if it goes that way. No one will care if he is great.

2.7 seconds. If he can get the ball out in under 2.7 accurately to the medium and short routes then they can have a better offense than we saw last year. Someone said he only had 1.5. That happened more than it should have but that was not the norm for the majority of the snaps. Maybe spending $153 million buys a little better than the weak players mostly involved in those 1.5 fails. Maybe Corbett sucks as a C but let’s at least wait a couple of outings to declare it. If he is adequate at best the OL might become an asset as the year passes. Looking at you Icky. How they help him will be a big part of how well they can operate. I think he needs a lot of help. People were beating him with quickness you have to help him. Unless he just morphs into reliable. I do think it’s on Young to protect his tackles and himself by making shallower dropbacks. Canales looks to be taking charge of QB operating procedure and pushing it more conventional which I am for. Question on Young, what is he really good at? Because Canales keeps saying he is going to find what Young is good at and lean into that. So whatever he does best along with handing off plenty seems like the plan. I get afraid when he throws a shallow to the sideline pass of any distance, so they’ll probably do a lot of that.

We’re fine, we don’t need to worry about some overpaid diva. We got us a point guard now and won’t need to be paying high prices for WRs.

They act like because he did throw a few good deep balls that he will do it every throw. Conflating ‘can’ with ‘will’. We are gonna find out late summer.

Yeah that was my thing. What is special? Above average? Only thing that could be legit special is something we can’t see. He not special in any way, physically, relative to NFL special. That does not add up to that level investment to me, not close. I know I said third round ands maybe not with the over valuing of QBs but that guy just is not a player you assign that value to before he has ever played an NFL down. I need to see him vs NFL players before I do that. My thinking pre draft.

The NFL... it is not like it used to be. It’s gone way past making a buck and putting a product on the field. When they take public tax dollars and funnel it back to a team the poor lose big time. They take people's money and give it to a multi billionaire. While he prices lower income people totally out of being able to afford to support the team by attending games. Good plan for the billionaire. And his people.

I go back to the hole the Panthers put themselves in and his positive track record with getting production from ‘problem’ QBs. Which, we have one. I go to the idea people were putting forth on these younger HC prospects - that maybe you take a guy early and let him grow and give him all the help you can. Like a QB go figure. I think that is pretty much where it is right now. I think Canales could be good.

Trigger word warning... I thought the consensus was that it couldn’t be done in a year. So it was not all going to be done and we knew that. I guess we have a fan consensus that they should have fixed C before RB. Or, maybe C is fixed and we don’t know it. Or it is just down their list a little.

Apparently they had a backup there they like already. Competition.... what a concept. So maybe it does matter a little. Think Rattler would get poached off a practice squad?

Saw a headline saying Rattler is struggling in OTAs. I was on him too, so look for word but didn’t go past the headline. Just FYI.

When you put it like that.... I guess if C is handled we can deduce someone knows something we don’t over there. But how would we know? It just seems typical. Seems like every plan has a black cat component.

He seems to be saying that our staff recognizes Young as having “prodigious arm talent”. I’d settle for average. Prodigious, whew that is really good news.

Yeah you can’t play without a QB and other players. I’m guilty. I look at being able to get a couple of yards when you have to, as one of the big tells. And feel extra good about the team when they have that kind of ability. Getting that line of scrimmage to move forward, or on defense stopping them from that advance is such an important part of winning. I just hope Icky gets the lead out of his butt and the fog out of his brain. Too slow physically and mentally too last year. I know he can be better than that.

Yeah, up front is really where it’s at for competing. That’s your floor really.

Those blind and or crooked fugs need some help that’s for sure. The league not having full time refs defies belief. Wiith the money that is flowing through their hands, it would be spillage to pay those refs on a good contract.
